City Cafe

Great breakfast spot, but not perfect.  I like the portions and the waitstaff is attentive.  Bacon is crispy and good quality.  I think the problem is when they get busy... The food is not always on temperature.  This morning the eggs were cold to Luke warm and not quite cooked through.

we eat there almost every weekend at least once. They're breakfast is good, hot, fresh and their sausage gravy and large flaky biscuits are to die for!

Inexpensive and the staff if friendly and it's a "regulars" kind of place, we totally enjoy having our morning coffee and cigarette, there's still a smoking section! wonderful!!

for a small diner vibe where "everyone knows your name" or new visitor friendly with a good hearty breakfast, from waffles to omelets and the divine sausage cream gravy and biscuits  you can't beat City Cafe.

disappointing experience...waiting staff not friendly at all with us, yet so nice with the rest of the patrons, would avoid to wait on us or ignore us. SAD that this place is in the middle of South Houston and yet it discriminates hispanics.
