Don't do it! Â They try to make it nice but it just isn't executed well. Â The olive oil for the bread tastes bad, the calamari is rubbery and tasteless, and any entree I or my companions ate were severely lacking in quality. Â If you want good Italian, find somewhere in the Dells instead. Â Thank goodness it isn't far.
Review Source:Oh gosh, and we thought it was only us! We ordered an appetizer in this restaurant that is about the closest thing you'll find to romantic in Mauston, and they let that kid use the dining room like a playground. We didn't want to Yelp it as we didn't want to say bad things. The poor sweet waitress, obviously the mom, was so proud of the kid and told us that's what they named the restaurant after. We politely asked for the check when she came back to take our dinner order. The deep-fried mushrooms were great! She was shocked and we could see her telling her hubby. They're from eastern Europe somewhere, and maybe that's acceptable there. Feel bad for them. Anyway, hope they get a clue soon!
Review Source:Horrible!!!!  The owners child was running around the dining area screaming and they made no attempt to quiet him.  The owner who was seating guests looked like she was on her way to the swap meet rather than playing grungy hostess. Which matched the dirty chairs and carpet  My salad to start was a straight vinegar dressing with Rusty bag lettuce. My eggplant Parmesan was marginal. The pasta was overcooked and watery. We didn't want to try dessert. The server we had was good though. CJ"s is a place to miss. F grade
