Was up at Red Ridge Ranch, and me and my daughter where hungry after our ride. Â We read the reviews above, and where a bit hesitant but she wanted Chinese.
When we walked in, a waitress and hostess where sitting at a table and cutting the tips off of a crate of fresh green beans (I took that as a good sign that the vegetables where fresh).
I started with an egg role, a crab Rangoon and a cup of hot and sour soup and a cream cheese stuffed mushroom. Â The egg roll was good, with a crispy outside and flavorful inside. Â The crab Rangoon was very good. Â The mushroom was ok, but a little watery for my taste. Â I am a huge fan of hot and sour soup, but most restaurants leave me a little flat. Â The hot and sour soup here would rate with some of my favorites! Â My daughter also loved it and got two bowls.
I then moved to the main courses. Â The fried rice was ok, but not great. Â My daughter liked the noodle. Â We both had a number of the chicken dishes and they were great. Â I had some port, seafood and vegetable dishes and everything was prepared well and tasty. Â We both went back for seconds.
I finished off with some bandana pudding, which was obviously made from scratch. They had a number of items for desert including ice-cream.
I would definitely go back the next time we are up in the dells area.
The food is never fresh. Ever. The rice is dry and hard. It seems like the food was all made the week before and microwaved. I live less than half a mile away, and if my wife and I want chinese, we'll still drive out of town to get it.
Most of the staff is really nice, but one waitress picked up my one year old and started walking away. I don't think I've ever been so mad at a waitress. I will never be going back.
This is my family's choice for Chinese food anytime! Â The buffet has a wide selection, and crab legs are available nightly along with many other great seafood choices. Â Their new location is closer to the highway and the main road so it's easy to find. Â Save room also for a variety of deserts including hand-dipped ice cream. Â If you're not in the mood for a buffet, they also offer a full menu as well, including take out.
