This little steamcar is everything you hope it will be and more.  The decor was personally selected by Les and some of the art is even by his own hand.  The man approves and touches each detail of this wine.

Not approved for those who can't handle close quarters, but if you can, snuggle up and enjoy the wine!

The wine is absolutely delish! Smooth finish, well rounded, and cool label to boot.  It is such a pleasure to know that he doesn't just ride the wave of his fame and produce sub-par wines.  The wines are solid and it just makes it that much cooler that Les is behind it.

This train car  tasting room has all the quirky charm that I've come to love about seeing Les Claypool on stage!!
I love the wines, I was out in Napa/Sonoma for a week and this was by far my favorite pinot.  The tasting staff is also extremely friendly and fun.

If you get the chance, stop by and check out this winery!

Really cute train car ambiance, pretty great wine, a bit small and can get pretty hot when crowded, so call ahead!

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary with a trip to Sebastopol.  I like to wine taste and he likes Primus. Win, Win in selecting this place. We started off our afternoon in the cute little caboose this tasting room is located within. Think small, think cozy. Very friendly couple manning the counter who filled us in on the backstory to the three wines available for tasting that day. All were delicious but ultimately we decided to purchase the Russian River Valley 2009 Pinot Noir. As a nice touch, when we admitted we had made the trek out to Sebastopol to celebrate our anniversary, the wife swapped out one of the bottles we purchased with one autographed by Les Claypool. Awesome! My husband was smiling ear to ear. Thanks guys for the hospitality.

Claypool Cellars rocks!  Great wines, great ambiance, and a great family of folks working there.  I've been purchasing several cases of their wine a year since the beginning (Russian River Pinot Noir and Rose of Pinot; and the Rhone-style "Fanci Blend"), and it is always great, and I no longer have it shipped- a will-call at the Caboose is the only way to go!  Well worth it, and it is possibly one of the few tasting rooms south of Santa Rosa (not too mention they are often open until 5:30).  Don't just pass through on 101, stop in at the Caboose!

Great wines, great people, great setting. A fun little place to stop by if you are in Sebastopol - or better yet, a great reason to visit Sebastopol.  Try the Fanci Booze - you won't be disappointed!

Great time every time.  Fancy Booze for Semi-Fancy Folks.  Les's Purple Pachyderm and Pink Platypus served in a train car what more could you ask for.  Definitely worth a stop.

This is a small, cozy tasting room where we always come back, because people are so friendly and their wines are amazing.
Their Pinot Noirs and Rose are to-die-for - if you love Pinot, you must try them! The Rose sells out rapidly and it is crisp, dry and refreshing. They take wine making seriously.
You might have the chance to get a bottle signed by the main owner, Les Claypool (internationally acclaimed musician - the guy from Primus, and the one who write the South Park theme, in case you don't know). Or, if he is not touring, he may be in the tasting room, enjoying the company of customers and pouring wine.
The things that sets them apart, beside wines, is that they are themselves, real people, and truly welcome you in their caboose - tasting room.
And, oh, try to make it to one of their parties. We've been twice and we had so much fun!

I had a wonderful visit in the Caboose!  Visited from Denver with some friends who live in the area.  A bottle even made it home with me to share with my friends in the mile high city.  Thank you, I shall return when I pass through again!
