Great hole in the wall downtown bar a block from the Alamo. Â Always fast and friendly service. Â If you're in need of some "direct to disk" alcohol, their shot selection is HUGE!! The beer is always ice cold! Â There's a large bike rack high on the back wall to hang your bike inside while you enjoy a tasty beverage, also a light pole out front to chain your bike to.
Review Source:Why is a sports bar called club anything? I don't know. I don't know why the drinks were so cheap either but I'm not complaining.
Came here to watch some of March Madness and the Spurs game, glad we did. Beer was real inexpensive. $2.50 a draft. They also had deals on jager shots but I elected to pass on that. Only 70 proof and taste like ass, no thanks.
Lots of televisions and a giant big screen in the back. Friendly people in the bar. Met some locals and people also on vacation. Got to hang with them for the night while watching some crazy games.
This should be the spot to catch a good game if you're in San Antonio.
We were looking for a drink early on a Saturday night and through Yelp found this highly rated cheap bar on the Riverwalk. Â Good little dive. Â I avoided the shots challenge menu (there are a lot of options!) and went with the drink special: $3.75 frozen drink. Â It didn't matter to me what, just that it was cheap. Â Bartender had a batch prepped and stirring and I ended up with something sweet and blue - Â not too strong, perfect for this lightweight. Â College football games aired on multiple flat panels. Â Jukebox played random Beck, rap, and Modest Mouse until the DJ came in and then played something that made me feel old. Â The patrons early on a Saturday evening were a random mix of people. Â Some locals watching the football, women kicking off a night out, and men is ill-fitting suits. Â Not a lot of seating and it's a long, narrow shape. It could get packed pretty quickly, but it seemed like a place people stop in on a crawl, not make a night out of this.
Review Source:For a place with Club in the title, it sure as hell don't feel like a club. Â But that's not such a bad thing. Â And telling from the previous reviewers, they have plenty of drink selections. They also have friendly door staff and bartenders too. I had a frozen drink called an Adios Motherfucker. Â I'm not sure exactly what it is but it was like a blue margarita but without any tequila. Â I don't know what it had in it but it was a very sweet drink and didn't pack much of a punch and costs $5.50. Â And they have an eclectic mix of music playing by the DJ so my ears weren't forced to endure any Nicki Minaj, Pitbull or Enrique Iglesias. Â No sir , the DJ spun an Operation Ivy song before a Maroon 5 song. Â Props! Â It's in the same area as Basement, Liquid Monkey and The Gulch. Â I prefer Sirius to that other place, Leapin Lizard, anyday!
Review Source:This has been one of my favorite bars for a few years now. It's laid back, the drinks are cheap and the bartenders are awesome!
If you like shots, this is your place. they have over 100 different shots to choose from. I've probably tried 75 percent of them. Some you'll love and other will down right leave you in tears.
It's in the heart of downtown but doesn't have that touristy feel to it, which is a good thing. It's small so you may not find a place to sit. That is probably my only complaint. The music is good, the crowd is always a lot of fun and I promise you'll always have a great time here.
First Dive bar, I've been here numerous times, I've tried there famous Chamoy Margarita, its a MUST.  They have a DJ around 10pm on the weekends, that plays really good music, and at times we ended up staying till closing due to the vibe and good tunes.  They also have a really good bartender, "Larry" he is friendly and if even  recommends drinks for you to try.  They have a Sirious Jukebox with all the latest music, and 100 Shots on the wall, with names for you to try.
Review Source:Hole in the wall bars don't come any more holier or in the wall than this! Â If you're looking to escape the tourist trap of downtown and want a decent selection of wonderfully priced drinks then look no further. Â
This is a rowdier version of a cheers type atmosphere where you can be as casual and laid back as you want because, let's face it, sometimes you just want to go to a down home bar and chill out without dressing to the nine's. Â No seriously. Â I've come here before, after some stressful thesis writing, with friends, in my sweatpants and felt completely comfortable lol...too much information haha!
This bar is frequented by locals. Â Most of the regulars know each other and the staff remembers practically everybody. Â Its a small bar, but such a great vibe. They have a wide range of shots (a full board of over 100) and they offer frozen Jack and Coke! Its a bar during the day and a club by night (they have a DJ every night)! The owner is amazing and you'll see her if you go because she is very involved in the service at her bar. Â Overall, BEST downtown bar/club for your money!
Review Source:Although there is limited seating you will find a very extensive drink list which is displayed on the wall as you enter. I've always been fond of CS mainly because its almost always open, has remarkably intelligent bartenders, usually has a spot available by a video game and the TV usually is playing something most excellent.
I heard they have a DJ every night now, which helps keep the crowd entertained with hopes to bring in the local bar hopping booty shakers.
Club Sirius is top 4, my favorite hole in the wall bars in the downtown area.
This is as good as it gets for the chilled out vibe. Note: I went during the day on a Saturday, not at night. It was to watch the Red River Shoot Out this past weekend and the game started @ 11 so we were looking for a bar at 10 am. And yes, they were serving the breakfast of champions: Dos Equis (green one) for $2. Are you kidding? That's practically giving it away!
The bartender Larry was super friendly and was chilled out. There was a patron nxt to us that bought our next round. He was super freakin cool. He was full comanche and was telling us of all his travels around and was just an awesome person to talk to. You dont see friendliness like that in CA. sometimes you found it in NV (we just moved back to TX) and you realize how much you're missing out on while you're gone.
I also met a girl who was taking pics, (I thought it was for yelp) and chatted her up about the place and mentioned I quit taking pics b/c my phone was dying so she plugged it in for me! hell yea! only in TX! then she gave me a free dos equis, she was the owner! Â man, It doesnt get any better than this. in the words of Toby Keith, I Love this Bar.
They had tons of drink specials and concoctions of Margaritas, lots o beer on tap and were a few doors down from McDonalds & subway. and right around the corner from the Rivercenter mall. i didnt expect to find such a chilled out spot in the heart of downtown but I'm glad I did. I'd go bk in a heartbeat. Now that I live in Round Rock I hope to be up and around this city more often. Its a lot closer than Las Vegas is to San Antonio, I'll tell you that!
This bar hardly deserves a one star. Customer service begins with the hostess, in this case the door man. I attended this bar August 3rd and am reluctant on ever returning or suggesting. As a publicist, it is detrimental to give poor service to those who can promote your club or on the other hand, publicize the horrific experience. Allow me to tell my story. As a tourist, I was asked by my company to tag along to a few downtown bars. Sirius was the last bar I attended before returning to another. An incident occured when the door man expressed that the club had reached its capacity. As a group of 4, we knew we weren't going to get in all at once. As 2 people walked out, he allowed our 2 friends to walk in. Two couples walked up to the line as the door man expressed again that the club had reached its capacity. The couples walked away as my friend and I waited for two others to walkout. I wasn't so impatient until the door man allowed a gentlemen to walk right in after a hand shake. This gentleman wasn't Id'ed or told to wait in line. Then again, the door man allowed another gentleman to walk in without being id'ed. My assumption is that he knew theses gentlemen, or did he? Two beautiful women await outside a bar as the door man is persistent on allowing men he knows to just walk in after stating the club has reached its occupancy. I'm sure TABC and the fire marshal would love to hear about this. A female then walked out of the bar to speak with the door man as I repeat to my friend that he allowed people to walk in yet still denied us. His female friend walked back in. He then repeated "I can hear you talking shit". My reply was "I meant for you to." He then replied "your lucky she didn't hear you or she would have kicked your ass." I replied "is that a threat?". He then flagged down the officer with his flashlight telling me to leave and that he wasn't allowing me into his club. This was fine with me because the club  would never be my 1st pick. After being threated to have my "ass kicked" and the cops called on me, I walked up to the officer to aware him of the incident. The officer got out of his car and walked up to the door man to find out what happened. I then walked away back to a bar I previously attended and alerted surrounding customers to avoid club sirius. Was the door man sexist as he allowed gentlmen to walk in before women? I'm not sure, but the ad hominem attack calling me "ugly" was very ignorant and immature. This is only a short version of my horrific and abhorent experience. I will be contacting TABC and the fire marshall to aware them that Club Sirus is violating regulations. I am very willing to speak with a manager or owner before I contact local news stations.
Review Source:What can I say, it's not really bad, but it's definitely not great. I'm a professional when it comes to judging night scenes and my first impression was "You call this a club? or even a bar?" Yes, it has a bar, but that's it. I think it can fit less than 20 people comfortably. But! They do have a live DJ spinning top 40 and really cheap drinks, $2 beers and $4 drafts. I would give it 3 stars but I hate all San Antonio bars because they allow smoking. I couldn't breath in here. Plus when I walked in, there were 20 guys and 2 girls, one of which was my gf. The other, DJ's assistant.
Review Source:Awesome hole in the wall joint. Â I only drink beer (learned my liquor lesson YEARS ago) but this place seems to have an awesome variety of shots available on their extensive drink menu.
It's nothing fancy and the prices are very reasonable for being in the down town area that it's in.
