Not sure why we've never been here before but stopped in tonight and had a great experience. Had to wait a few minutes for a table but we were quickly greeted by the owner who set us up with a table.

Tons of TV's to watch The Master's and the beer was cold so David was a happy camper. He ordered French Dip, I had the beef nachos for one (which was huge and could have easily fed two) and my 13 year old, who eats like a bird, ordered the biggest club sandwich you can imagine. The owner came by again and made her a bet that she couldn't eat the whole thing and if she did, he'd give her a brownie with ice cream and hot fudge. I love her competitive nature and she took that challenge like a champ and ate every bite! And true to his word, the owner brought desert and she ate every bite of that as well.

Service was good but we couldn't help but notice how hands on the owner was. He was all over the place! One small mishap was my nachos were missing the beef but he took care of that without hesitation. But even though the beef was missing, the nachos were really good. David enjoyed his French dip and obviously my daughter loved hers as well.

On our way out, I told the owner it was our first time and his response was, "We've been waiting for you for 12 years! Glad you finally made it!" Love it! We'll for sure be back. He obviously cares about his business and his customers.

Nothing positive to say about this place. Just keep driving and find someplace else. McDs is across the street...

Was up at Coach's Sunday to watch football playoffs and have a Sunday fun-day. Bar had a decent crowd but not over crowded. Waitress was very nice and service was good like always. We had some appetizers, homemade soup, and homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream that was really really good! Every time I go to Coach's I'm amazed by how many TVs they have. Great place to watch sports!

Coaches is by far my favorite bar.

The good
-great drink specials
-good food (try the turkey Ruben, nachos, burgers, salmon Caesar salad)
-Beth the bartender
-bathrooms are clean
-lots of parking (even if you have to park across the street)
-Mike the owner always comes by to ask how everything is going
-they have parties and events. This is the place I go on St.pattys, and to watch playoff games. They even have hot dogs and cracker jacks at times
-jukebox

The bad
- they don't have pizza or any fried seafood (other than fish) on the menu

Not the fastest service, but plenty of TV's and a good local crowd. Food was nothing special and I'm not likely to go back.

Bacon Cheeseburger was worse than what you could get anywhere else and wings were over cooked, with sauce just splashed on them.

Not a fan, there are better places to go.

It's more of a local hang-out, not the place for trivia - poor set-up.

Food was below average for bar food.

Sports focus, which is fine, but the place has a poor vibe, and seating is awkward.

Small private lot.

Love Coach's Corner!! We go here on average at least once a week and sometimes more. The food is delicious (love the steak special on Wednesday!), and the atmosphere is friendly. It's a place we will recommend to friends and family. It can be a little loud but hey it's a sports bar! It's a our great neighborhood bar!! Coupons have been changed back to be able to use on everything but daily specials. The owner is a great guy and seems to really love his bar and his customers.

Prior reviews about "no coupons" on weekends should be removed. They now take the groupons and other coupons on weekends.

Yes, I agree that the service can be spotty. It is worst when the "sponsored" teams are there. They are loud, and create a backup at the bar and in the Kitchen.

The food is good, if you are expecting bar food. If you are expecting the Lark, you will be disappointed. The Artichoke dip is really good. (The cheddar on top is a bit weird). Steak special on Thursday is good. Plenty of TVs.

My biggest complaint, is that it just gets way too loud when it is full. You can't talk across the table.

Small complaint, the LARGE beer glasses are really only like 22 oz. Most places have been downsizing, and Coaches is no exception.

Onion rings, Burgers and wings are all really good.

I tried this place after purchasing a coupon through Groupon. The coupon was to be used on food & drink as the "fine print" stated "must purchase 1 food item" and "not valid during happy hour". The premise for promoting your business through these sites is to attract new customers. The owner, Mike George, was denying the coupon on weekends which was never stated on the coupon. Also, the bartender (who was very apologetic) said she was told it must be used for food only. I have requested my refund for the coupon, but the sad news is that I will AVOID this place from here on based solely upon an owner that doesn't live up to his word. If they can screw you straight faced, imagine what they are doing behind the scenes! The friendly bartender should seek employment elsewhere.

The straw that stirs the drink in any bar is the bartender. A happy, gregarious bartender can turn any dive into the place to be. Conversely, a bartender that never smiles and has an attitude can turn the nicest establishment into a Hell hole. Count Coach's Corner as the latter.

II don't know the bartender's name, but when you never smile and your reputation is you'll pour the wrong draft beer on purpose, then shame on your owner for letting you stay on and shame on me for ever returning.

Tonight, I witnessed with my own eyes (and was a victim of) the ole switcher-oo, and I'll never return. Your loss Coach.

My boyfriend have eaten here every other month or so for the last year. Its always crowded, but we've still had good service considering how busy it is. We like to go on Thursday's when MotorCity Trivia is there.

The food isn't awesome, but its not bad, either. I like their ranch dressing - its not gross like some places. We almost always get a http://Restaurant.com voucher before we go, so that helps a bit with the overall rating of the bar. They have Magic Hat #9 on tap, which is fabulous, and we'll be back for more.

Loud, dive sports-bar. Not necessarily bad in and of themselves, but coupled with awful service & mediocre food and I was woefully disappointed.

We met friends for a Friday evening dinner. The place was very crowded, and I had to park across the street (5 lanes worth) and walk over. We were seated pretty quickly, and finally decided on our orders. Three of us had the fried fish (i had the AYCE), and the other had a burger.

The fish arrived and we had to get up and get our own silverware. Then we asked for napkins (imagine that!) and ketchup. The ketchup came and was 90% empty (or 10% full!). One of our friends asked for vinegar & again got a 10% full bottle. The Fish was OK, but WAY too greasy for my tastes. I ordered my "second round" (hey don't judge!), and waited, and waited and waited. After about 20 minutes we flagged the waitress down and was told there was a 45 minute backup in the kitchen! WTF??? Well at this point I didn't even want the second batch, but sometimes it's all about the principle. So I waited for it, and asked for a to-go box.

All in all, this would never be in any of my top choices to go, but alas I have one more http://restaurant.com coupon to use, so I'd better suck it up and get it over with.

We've had some really good food items here - nachos, fish, fries, wings - and some OK items - Reuben.

They run excellent specials on wings ($0.50 each, all the time... but I swear they used to be cheaper) and beer (Ken got a Bud boomba for $2 last night, and we saw a $5 PBR pitcher on the menu, after already ordering drinks). Daily specials can also be good - such as Tuesday night's BYOBurger starting at $4 (instead of regular $6 price), already including lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles.

Casual bar atmosphere. Good amount of TV screens, seating and parking. Loud and hopping every time we've been there. They let you use the http://Restaurant.com certificate on anything, including alcohol and specials.

All right coach, what's the next play????

Well I am not going to wait for coach to tell what's next. I'll move on to another bar instead. I went o this bar to meet up with a couple of friends. We anticipated eating a bite because they told me the food is decent. When I got there it was kinda busy. While we were there a little kids hockey team showed up, the bar sponsored. It got a little wild with kids all over in the bar. TV's all over, not the cleanest.

Food:
Burrito - Special - not on menu - Now I know why. It had to be the worst burrito I ever ate. It had a "funny" taste and I could figure out. But since I was paying, I finished it. Mix it in with a beer and my stomach made more noises than a jackhammer. I had some serious pain. I left earlier than I wanted to spend time with these friends. - 1 Star
Service: Pretty good considering how busy it was. 3 Stars

IF I ever go here again I am sticking with the basic burger...maybe

OK coach....you're fired!

Coach's Corner is a nice little bar in Livonia. I began going there when it was called Fat Willy's, it was great then too. They have really upgraded since with many flat screens so its a great place to catch a game. When I travel back from the West side of the state I make sure to have a beer at Coach's. They also have cool bus packages for Tigers and Red Wings games that are well worth it.
