Sandy's by the Beach

Had the fish and chips. I wanted to go to Michno's for the nice perch but my lunch partner preferred Sandy's fish. Why? It was very greasy, slid down the gullet. Fries AND a roll - yes, Americans do need two starches with a meal.  Too much food, but at least my friend has two more meals from what she took Home. Hey it was her treat, but I won't be back for the fish. And beware - do not request anything special, like thin bread, or rye instead of white. All my recent experiences are they make as stated regardless of what you request. Don't order beer anymore as it is too, too cold and they only have iced glasses. Freeze the taste rit out of that Bass beer. So now they miss out on my drink order.

Good burgers and each table has a tray of condiments, so you can OD on onions and mustard if you so desire.  My date raved about the sweet potato fries and even got a box for the five he had left on his plate.  Warning: they don't take credit cards, but there us a surcharge free ATM inside.

It was starting to be a bad review, simply on preparation speed. A half hour? We had to leave for our show at the Redford Theatre! So we came back after and they not only reheated our burgers (kept in the fridge for us), they added fresh veggies and new fries! The chili was wonderful (needs onions and cheese next time) and the drinks were good. They were just all-around nice and friendly. Will be back and prepared for those hand-patted burgers that are definitely worth the wait- get a beer and relax! They only take cash and checks (but there's an ATM there).
