Cody Ray's is a good place to start the night off at or just grab a few drinks at after work with friends. There always seems to be a nice sized crowd at the bar and Ive eve an had the chance to hold a few conversations with the very pretty girls that work behind the bar. It would be nice if the drink prices were a little cheaper though. I think this is a beer and wine only bar but I'm not positive.
Ive noticed the patrons at Cody Ray's arrive there and hand out there in groups. If you show up by yourself you might get bored, its not the kinda bar you go to in order to meet or pickup on people.
Cody Ray's does not serve food but there is a pretty good Mexican food place right next door in the same strip mall you can get a to go order and bring it in to eat. Smoking is allowed and the music is all over the map but good.
It's alright if it's college football night with NO karaoke. The night my husband and I decided to try it out, Longhorns got whooped by KSU and the Karaoke guy they hired for entertainment post game that evening was WAY too loud.
Wouldn't have been so bad had the billiard equipment been decent.
For a newer place, you would think they'd invest in newer sticks and tables that actually work/have all the balls. One stick out of seven was straight, owners must not care about that feature much.
In fact, the only two reasons this place received two stars? Nice looking ladies serving the drinks and good enough TVs.
Oh, no SHINER. Or the pretty thing just couldn't find it;).
Needless to say, I'll take a few extra minutes in the car for a bar where the owners care more about the actual product than just the "look".
