We recently found this restaurant and enjoyed not only the food, but the quiet!  No noisy music, and very attentive and friendly wait staff, who seem to know many customers by name. My favorite here is the navy bean soup served with raw onions on the side, and corn cakes.  We've sent family and friends here, who have also liked it!

Typical Midwestern family restaurant. Baked potatoes after 4PM, vegetable of the day, liver and onions, and a long list of pies. If this is the kind of thing you like you won't be disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised about this place. My first impression was it was mainly an older persons kind of place.. like friches. But once you get in there, talk to the staff and eat the food you understand why they go there. The place was decorated in a old  time style that i found to really go with the place. The staff was so wonderfully nice also. They were happy to see you and help you out anyway they could. We ordered their daily specials (there are 5 to choose from most days) and at under 7 bucks each they were well worth it! I had to take half of mine home to eat later!!  The waitress we had kept our drinks filled and was VERY attentive! We loved this place and with all the food choices and polite staff we will definitely be going back!

Very good. My wife and I eat here frequently. My favorite is the big steak burger.

    Excellent restaurant!
I had 2 pieces of the fried Country Chicken Kbreast and wing), a cup of Chicken Noodle soup and homefries for $8.99. The Country Chicken was excellent. The pieces were juicy and crispy.

The soup was rich, chunky and hearty. It was loaded with noodles, carrots, chicken and other vegetables. The homefries, unfortunately looked like scraps and had a bland taste.

The restaurant is very popular with senior citizens, but it has food for all ages. The interior of the restaurant looks like an old country home with sunflower wallpaper, porcelain dolls and lace curtains. A colleague described the interior as some sort of retirement home.

The service is great. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The wait to get a table may be long since there's a lot of people.

However, the food is definitely tasty and affordable. The Country Chicken is one of the tastiest fried chickens around!
