Went here on a weekday night after a movie. I was a little thrown off at how tiny the place was, it was a full house and a tiny band that somehow managed to fit! I had a great time here, the bartender at the back was kind enough to recommend and even let us taste the wines we were possibly interested in. After making our selection we were luckily quickly seated. We enjoyed the music, the ambiance and the cheese fig and meats platter that was MIND blowing...I still salivate when I think about it. I will definitely be returning here.
Review Source:I've been searching for a place like this for a while.
Intimate date place to spend some time and have some fine wine. Very attentive and friendly staff. I hope to get back here before it becomes popular with people from outside the neighborhood!
I'm going to withhold giving 5 stars only because I only had wine and a charcuterie plate. i do not feel comfortable giving out 5 stars without having eaten a meal.
I went last night May 1st for a double date. Very chill and relaxing vibe. Im a wine lover so the appearance to the wine they serve was awesome. Its a bit tiny and the chairs are a bit flimsy so for you fancy girls with the silk dresses beware you will slip off the chiars lol...Food was great service was terrible they should hire a new waitress she came to our table like two times meanwhile she was at the bar chattering away instead of tending to her customers needs and she forgot my husbands order and then to make up for it her excuse was the beef takes long to cook meanwhile my skirt steak mofongo was the first thing to come out..she could have said she forgot to place the order we waited an hour for his food to come out and everyone was already done eating. To top it off the burger was super tiny and not very tasty. I wouldnt go there again.
Review Source:Went for the first time on a Sunday for brunch...I wasn't a fan of the brunch menu, but I really enjoyed the ambiance and the hospitality. I was welcomed and it felt nice. I went with two other friends and ordered one pitcher of Guava mimosa and another pitcher of Sparkling Sangria (i'm not a fan of sangria, but this was really good!)
I went the next day, Monday night, for a wine tasting. It was really good!! (although i thought it was free, but it wasn't). They brought in a few guys who help them pick out and order wines, they were extremely knowledgeable about red wine, white wine, and the wine in between lol...I really appreciated the company and included the guests in the talk by asking us questions about what we thought about the wine. finally, they brought in a band that played latin jazz and a singer from portugal. I had a really good time and would definitely suggest people to check it out :)
What a GREAT little spot!
The Decor is GREAT! Â The music is GREAT! Â The food for brunch was GREAT! and the drinks were AMAZING!
We ordered the Guava Mimosas and they were just wonderful. Â Strong, tasty, different and fun. Â I had the Corcho Burger which was cooked medium, like I asked, and was delicious. Â Mouth watering is an understatement, and it was SUPER tasty. Â I recommend ordering this burger Medium. Â It also came with some very delicious parmesan fries.
We ordered the empanadas and they were perfection, like little bites of delicious pizza inside the most perfectly golden crisp baked empanadas. Â Highly recommended!
Our servers were constantly refilling our water glasses, our mimosa glasses and clearing out our dishes. Â They were super friendly, super attentive, and extremely gracious. Â
Corcho should never go away.
One of the very few Wine Bars in uptown manhattan (INWOOD).
This place is very much needed in the area. The prices are pretty much the same as downtown, but so is the ambiance and quality of service. I've been here twice on weeknights, and both nights they have a live spanish band playing music similar to Jazz, but with a latin twist.
I will continue to come here and glad I discovered this uptown gem :)
I really like this place. It has great atmosphere and live music! They need more options on the menu. I also think the seating is a little uncomfortable. The place gets packed on some nights, and that can slow the service down. The truffle fries are soooo good! I have a nice time every time I visit.
Review Source:Pros:
1.They accommodated us when we didn't have a reservation for Sunday brunch.
2. The bottomless mimosas are about $22 with breakfast. Great deal if you can get more than 1 glass of mimosa.
3. Great burger & pancakes good too.
Cons:
1. I ordered bottomless mimosa, she only refilled by glass once & never offered to refill it again or even offered to refill.
2. The table that sat after us got their food before us.
3. It was even difficult to get a glass of water. I asked & she acknowledge & never brought me one.
4. She was basically the only waitress, the other one was there just to look pretty.
*5. Gratuity is included for parties 4 or more = reason the waitress didn't care.
6. Anything other than the pancakes or burger for brunch was not worth it.
Been to this place plenty of times since it is close to me and has never disappointed no matter which day I go. The sangria especially the guava is the best I've ever had, their tapas are good, the atmosphere is perfect if you like places that are relaxing, the staff are really nice, and the live music is just icing on the cake. Def one of my fav spots!
Review Source:This intimate wine bar is perfect for a business meeting among associates. Â The place will work with you so that your group is taken care of.
I liked the food. Â I didn't care much for the pizza but the steak mofongo and the mushroom croquitas were great. Â There are wines for everyone and in the summer, you can sit at the door facing the street. Â This is a great place.
This is a cozy intimate spot in Inwood perfect for a glass of wine or some appetizers with friends.
I have to agree with most of the reviews on her. If you go try to go during happy hour and before it gets crowded so that way you have a seat. Sometimes they even have live bands playing, which is always a plus.
I would recommend it for anyone going out with a few friends for drinks.
Perfect place to have a glass of wine. The staff is very friendly.
It's a small place , so try to go during happy hour before it gets crowded.
The food is usually pretty good, but I think it is more of a place to try different wines and share a cheese board. Also they have a guayaba sangria which is not bad.
Love this place. Been going here since December 5th 2010. The staff is known to be really friendly, specially the owners Benlly and Dariana. The wine selection is great and the same goes to their beer selection. Sadly there's none on tap, but the wine is the main thing, so is understandable. Their sangria is amazing. Def a great place for a first date or to bring a few friends with you en enjoy the night.
The best nights to me are Fridays and Saturdays. But they always have something going on almost every night.
(If they had beers on tap they had my 5 stars) hahaha!
The atmosphere is nice and refreshing. The employees all have nice smiles and are very sweet. The wine selection was good (better then expected) and the vibe of the overall area is nice too. Food wise the Tapas were really good and are the perfect compliment to my favorite White Wine Sangria, haven't had the burger yet but its on my list.
Review Source:It's too bad most of my friends down below are too rooted to check this GEM out. This is my neighborhood spot for alone, for friends, for meeting new folk, for reading even if by candlelit. They've done everything perfectly here to the handmade cork ceilings to the wine bottle shelved walls to the ambience fusion of wine bar and your own living room. The live music is great and yes the space is small but the bands play just to the right sound where you can still hear yourself and others. again, kudos!!!
p.s. i'm fairly sure the owner will drop-kick your kid out the store so you've been warned!
and can y'all please start selling your staff's t-shirts, i want all colors!!!
An afternoon at the Cloisters left my friend and I feeling rather thirsty so we explored Inwood for some beverages. We found Corcho just outside the park.
It has a wonderfully romantic ambiance and amazing service! Â I told our server (who happened to be the owner) how much I admired the ceiling... It was covered from corner to corner in wine corks! He told me that each section came from a different place and talked about the history of his bar. Â The place was busy and this man actually took the time to stop and have a conversation! Â
Corcho has quite a variety of wines, though it's a little on the expensive side. They do have some affordable drink specials. Â The Tamarind Mimosa was like liquid candy, infused with alcohol and I'd go back just for that!
I thought Wine Tasting was only a French Thing till I stumbled upon Corcho in INwood.
In Paris at the markets they give you about 6 Tastings all for free.  At Corcho they do exactly the same!  Attentive Service...great Wine selection from Pampas, Argentina, to Chile, and of Course French Wine too.
Excellent Service.  Impeccable Ambiance.  A great way to start the night.
I've been to this place four times this summer and I've always enjoyed myself! Â The staff here are polished and really pay attention to their customers. By the second time I visited, one of the servers remembered me, what I ate and what I drank. Not only was I surprised and impressed but I was deeply flattered because they get so many clients in this cozy nook and let's just say it is very low-lit.
Their offerings are modest but what they lack in quantity they make up in quality! I also found the pricing to be reasonable and the serving sizes are adequate if you are not a glutton.
Lastly, the ambiance is impeccable! I love the decor, the lighting and the music they play. This is definitely a perfect spot for a date or reconnecting with friends. The mood set is soothing and relaxing and you completely forget that you're nestled between two very noisy restaurants on the Dykman strip!
You go Corcho! I adore you! :-)
I came here Friday, July 29th. I met a couple people there and we sat at a high table, one of the few tables I saw. We were there for happy hour, around 7:30. I had a $5 glass of sangria, and it was delicious! My friends got some kind of pizza, which was quite good as well and smelled amazing. The decor is lovely, the ceiling is covered wall-to-wall with corks. I don't remember if there was any music playing, but it was easy to hear each other. The waitress was very nice.
I'm pretty chintzy and I thought the glass of sangria was tasty and well-priced and I had a pleasant experience. So, 4 stars!
Very friendly place to go , the wines are great and the prices  very affordable .. Bengi very nice person and he is very knowledgevable about the wines he is serving , I ask for his Advice on a wine and he recommended me Martinez lacuesta Campeador . What a wine from Rioja Spain .. We drank 2 bottles with mix appetizers .. We had a great time . Will make this one of my top 10 spots .
Review Source:Awesome place for wine & tapas. Â Friendly and quick service. Â I Â had the guava sangria and it was very refreshing. Â My friend and I shared the Patriota board, with an assorment of gouda, eggplant and cod fish dips and guava slices, hit the spot. Â They had live music and the crowd was a nice mix. Â Definitely going back! Too bad I didn't try it sooner!
Review Source:This place is great! The wines are yummy and the service is wonderful.  The décor is very original and very fun to look at. I heard they even show movies on certain nights although I haven't had the opportunity to experience that (yet). This quaint spot definitely gets the job done.
Review Source:What a great place, stopped by one night to see what it was all about. When we walked in we were greeted by Liz very friendly, I am all about first impressions, I wasn't disappointed. I sell wine and they were very receptive, the owner came over we chatted and had a great time. Went back 3 times since then and that was only a week ago we went in. They had great music on Thursday night. Ordered a nice bottle of Syrah was very good. My new favorite place.
Review Source:Corcho is the pot of gold under the rainbow.
You can get an education about what you are drinking or you can just enjoy being treated "like family".
Food was a bit sparse for my taste but then again so is nouvelle cuisine, and there is nothing wrong with that. Â The senses are tingled by wine and great choice in platters.
It is smallish and intimate, a place where you can feel like home.
I want to tell everyone I know about this place... SHOUT it from the mountaintops of Washington Heights! Â We are near the highest point above sea level in nyc...so we are basically the top of the mountain.... and this place is on the top of my list!!!
Come, taste... visit again!!! I plan on it.
Loved this place! Â I went here on Friday night after having passed it a few times. Â The service was amazing. Â The staff really made you feel at home. Â I love the vibe, chill, upbeat, good music but not so loud that it drowns conversation. Â They passed around a white wine (actually poured it into your mouth) towards the end of the night. Â If that isn't my kind of spot, I don't know what is...
Review Source:Easy and Love it -
Friendly sweet staff, our server was more comfortable speaking Spanish than English, so we all laughed through and helped one another translate.
Good selection of wines and lovely and detailed decor. Beautiful, calm good place to sit, have some tapas and wine....
One thing: it is a small space  - I don't like crowds...so I'll keep happily going by on off nights... but if you want to meet people and stay close... it gets pretty full on Thurs, Fri & Sat!
This place is a welcome addition to the neighborhood- nice wine choices, and the tapas menu which looks a little thin ended up impressing us- when the food came it totally exceeded our expectations in both quality & quantity. Â Nice setting, great atmosphere, helpful and attentive staff. Â Definitely worth a trip!
