Caña y café is a good spot for a group of friends to go and hang out, have a couple of drinks and dance when the place becomes a "club".
On Wednesdays it's karaoke night. It does not get very crowded. They have a menu of mixed drinks ( try the coconut margarita if you are a fan of coconut or piña colada!!) price range is from $5-7.
On Tuesdays it's wing night. 20cents wings with a min order of 10 and a mixed drink ($5-7 until 12).
The wings are blah but the drinks are on point not watered down. The food selection is not that serious very typical.
Hookah is $30. I found it really odd that people are eating and yet the table right next to you is smoking. Idk. It's like weird when your eating and someone's smoke is just floating around your food. Looks pretty cool but not very appetizing.
Customer service: beware!!! On Tuesday night if you get there around 8pm you will have to wait a minimum of 45min!!! Horrible! And the waiter was nice but it's annoying when you have to call him constantly to please get another round of drinks bc we have been sitting with empty cups for a while. Bad service can kill your entire vibe!
Lastly, OMG I almost forgot to mention. At 12am when the place becomes a club on Tuesdays they will kick ur butt out the table and say that they have to take the chairs away and you have to move. Okay so what do I do with the hookah put it on top of my head? Oh no, you have to get bottle service to get your table back. Lmao. That was really upsetting. They didn't even want to compensate aaannnddd they had unoccupied tables the entire night! Idk but by 2am or 3am it's obvious no one is going to buy a bottle if they haven't so maybe it's best to start releasing tables.
In all honesty I do recommend this place. I would probably go back on a Tuesday night just remember to expect a long waiting time. And prepare to walk around with the hookah on top of your head bc you have no table. Lmao. Jk.
Been here twice now for Tuesday wing night. While the staff seems nice in general, the first time I was here our server spilled a margarita in my lap, tried to "clean" it up (while grabbing at my crotch) and took a good 10 minutes to replace it. She was also extremely confused about the idea of separate checks. The second time we were here we had to wait a bit for a table (which I don't mind, I understand it can get busy in popular nights); however, when we were seated it took our server forever to take our order. After that he only visited to check in about once every 15 minutes. Since I drink my margaritas pretty quickly, they definitely lost out--while I could have easily consumed 4 that evening, because of his Iack of attention to our table, I only downed 2. Moreover, the music is repetitive and too loud. I will not be coming back.
Review Source:I went there last Friday, 8/3/13 for dinner, to celebrate a friend's birthday. Â The only thing I can say about this place is....DON'T BOTHER. IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!!
Why you ask? Well, after reading this, you will be glad you checked on Yelp!
#1. The place is a restaurant that converts to a lounge. It was deserted except for a handful of customers. On a Friday night?! Bad Omen.
#2. The waitress working our section was abysmal to say the least. She had an attitude from the moment we walked in. Some of our party were already there, one with a child and the stroller. Completely out of the way. When my friend asked for a highchair for her own son, the waitress stated that there was no room because of the stroller. Really?! We asked for it anyway and sure enough, no space problem there! Clearly she did NOT want to be there. Maybe she should have taken a day off. She kept trying to rush us to order; asking if we want to order, what we wanted and we were still trying to relax and get a little drink on.
#3. It took forever to get a drink; annoying me to the point that I could not really enjoy my margarita. (the margarita was good and strong-1 positive thing) My drinks were ordered and never delivered.
#4. It took 30 minutes to get 1 appetizer sampler and another hour to get our entrees. Really?! There wasn't anyone there!!!! And to top it all off, they messed up the order. How the hell is a customer going to tell a waitress that she wants beef and cheese empanadas only and the waitress says that they can't tell because they would need to cut it open to know what kind it is? REALLY?!?!?!?!?!
After all that the price for it all was ridiculous! I did NOT get my money's worth. All I did was pay for the aggravation.
People! Don't waste your hard earned money on this place. There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy in the area.
