I ordered a $12 burger, well, something that wants to resemble a burger, at least. Fries were cold.

A frozen, filler filled patty was served and tasted nasty. The quality and quantity of food is way overpriced. Surrounding area restaurants charge less for fresh made, thick 100% beef patties with fresh made hot fries and full table service.

Owner is arrogant, rude to guests. From my observation he does not care for children as patrons. Note: I did not bring any children with me during my visit.

This is not a sit down, be served restaurant, i.e. you must leave your table to stand in line to order your table's meals. You get your own drinks, and sometimes your own condiments. The staff will bring your plates to your table, but don't expect the staff to return to the table to replenish any items or bring any little extras. The self-serve aspect doesn't match the overpriced meals.

I won't be returning. Poor food quality and poor service for the prices charged. I gave one star, because I had to give a minimum star count.

This is our second bad experience at this establishment, but before I go into specifics I would like to explain the reason I gave two stars.

    One star for ambiance.

And one star for being open.

My husband and I decided to get take-out tonight for our son and ourselves.  With all this black Friday madness, we wanted to support a local business.  Although we had a previous unpleasant experience (way tough ribs) with Cork and Fork, we decided, against our better judgement, to try them out again. We thought if we just stayed far away from the ribs that we would be fine. Not the case.

We ordered the East Bay Burger, Chicken Ceasar Salad, Pineapple Tacos, and a side of Southern fries.

    East Bay Burger:
So we take partial responsibility for this disaster, as we did request chicken instead of the ground beef because they have no chicken sandwiches on the menu.  However, we were assured that the request could be met.  The chicken was all cut into bite sized pieces (I'm assuming it is the same chicken on the Ceasar salad) and had no flavor. The burger came with blue cheese, carmelized onions, and red bell peppers.  It barely even showed from between the pieces of bread and was no where close to being worth 12 dollars.  With that kind of price tag you would think that the ingredients would be of quality, but they were meager in the serving size and generic. The criss cut fries were colder than cold, and completely dried out. Not even edible.

    Chicken Ceasar Salad:
Originally, i had asked for the mandarin poppy salad but the man informed me that i was looking at his old menu online, which is a minor mistake but inconvenient to the customer. So, for 9 dollars, I received a small (and I mean small) salad that had wilted lettus, soggy croutons, tasteless chicken, and dressing that was, for lack of a better term, gross.  I've had better dressing from a bottle. Horrible.

    Pineapple Tacos:
Well, first of all, I ordered chicken, and instead received pork, which actually ended up being a blessing in disguise because we saw how the chicken was from the previous two dishes. The pork was juicy, texture was substantial, and flavor was decent.  But the lettus, cheese, and tomatoes were meager and did not add anything to the tacos.  Came with a small side of chips. Cost 9 dollars.

    side of Southern fries:
All these were, for 4 dollars, were the same cold, dried out criss cut fries with some seasonings on top. Tasted like paprika and cheyenne. Unedible as well.

You can say that maybe take out is not their thing, but for 40 dollars there should be some standards.  I am appalled at both of my experiences and feel like a fool for returning.  Way overpriced for substandard quality.  Beware.

I live in the area and was looking for a place that had really good food and a decent price and thats why I just fell in love with the Cork and FOrk! Everything I have tried from their BBQ Pork Pizza to the Boston Burger has exceeded my expectations. Not only that but the service is is wonderful. They dont hover over you but are attentive when your glass is getting empty or need a box. :)  I really have fallen in love with food and people that work there. I know that no matter what kind of a day I have had I can always count on them to being a smile to my face.

My boyfriend and I hiked over from below Auburn to Cool and we're happy to find this little restaurant. The service was great, the people were so nice and the food was delicious. I had the shredded pork tacos and my boyfriend had the chili. Both were excellent. Good beer menu, cozy, friendly ... I would definitely go back again.

Went to this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday.  We were more than impressed.  My husband had the ribs and I had the chicken.  The flavers of everything including the sides were unique for our small town.  We will be back!

Southern barbecue in Cool, California???  I was very skeptical.  We're from South Carolina and while we're not barbecue experts, we do know good Southern barbecue and the type of sauce/rub it should have depending on the region it comes from (mustard, vinegar, etc).  So the first question I had for the waitress was how the chef can claim it's "real" southern BBQ.  She told me he was from Memphis and I knew I was going to get some good BBQ.  I wasn't disappointed, this is real Memphis BBQ with all the fixin's.  The pulled pork, ribs, beans and coleslaw were fantastic.  If you want some good Memphis BBQ you must go to this restaurant.  I don't know if we'll ever get through Cool again, but if we do I know where I'm having at least one meal.

We were very impressed with the quality & taste of the food. Started with the "naked" chicken wings & were able to regulate the heat of the sauce by adding tableside BBQ sauce. Moved on to the loaded pulled pork sandwich, again adding sweet tableside BBQ sauce to taste. The beans and cole slaw sides were delicious and the chocolate chip cookies were the best I've ever had! Our server was excellent... would definitely return.

The Cork and Fork is an amazing place to stop for a bite to eat in the little town of Cool! Great food and prices can be expected, especially the tri tip or baby back ribs.

This place was amazing!  My husband and I were visiting from Southern California and went here for lunch.  They have a great selection of food and the quality is exceptional.  We talked to the owner (a true Southern) who loves and knows how to create mouth watering dishes.  I got the Neat Tri-Tip and my husband the Pulled Pork Sandwich--both possibly the best we've ever had.  I can't believe this place is in Cool.  There should be a line out the door, especially considering the reasonable prices.
