This place has been around for years. In high school, I didn't think much was to be found "wrong" with it. But, going back since then, after having experienced much much better pizza just about anywhere else, I realize how bad this place really is.
While visiting family, we still order as it is an easy alternative to cooking during hot summer months. But, aside from the ease of that, there is nothing to brag about.
The pizza is often way too doughy/chewy, full of grease (often an outcome of using generic cheeses and low-grade meat selections), and often has way too much sauce-- which has an odd sweet "ketchup" flavor overly salted to the point of being way too overwhelming. Don't even try the white/garlic sauce. I am a garlic fanatic... I use it daily in my own cooking... But it is evident this sauce doesn't quite use fresh pressed. The "garlic salt" used to cut costs in concocting this greasy white sauce is gagging! And, why a white sauce is greasy (seriously you can see pools of golden grease) is beyond me! Butter?! Who came up with these recipes?!
Being accustomed to knowing the pizza here is often too chewy/doughy, we last requested it to be "well done". Apparently that means cooking it until the bottom is black!
The prices are fairly high for what it is (an outcome of there simply being no competition for anything in Chowchilla-- everything is a monopoly there it seems). I have no problem paying higher prices for gourmet selections, but this place is not of that pedigree in taste, service or cleanliness.
You attend the actual venue, and the tables are greasy, the atmosphere is loud, the bathroom is disgusting. I get that this is a small town family hangout... but cleanliness should be a priority for any place serving food.
One would have better luck and find more satisfying flavor, less grease and less irritation in simply buying frozen Di'Giorno pizzas.
Tried a couple of different menu items. Both were outstanding. Good flavors, hot, fresh. Crispy, chewy pizza. Good stuff. Cant rate above three stars due to dirty tables and noisy young patrons that seem to come here often. Also, they saw my beer glass was empty but did not offer me anymore or even something else to drink. Have ordered delivery many times now. Don't call close to 9 PM, even thought they are open, they won't deliver. Other places like Dominoes and Pizza Hut will deliver up to the minute they close.
Review Source:They took our phone# down wrong, so after an hour we called, the somewhat apologetic person said they would be there ASAP. After another hour the driver called from the wrong hotel. He arrived some 2+ hours after the initial order, we paid and tipped out of habit. The pizza was ICE cold, we called them and they refused to refund any money. HORRIBLE bussiness practice's
Review Source:Perfect place for lunch, they have specials everyday for sandwiches and pizzas.
Usually I get the pizzas, very good crust and quality of mozzarella.
Why I come here instead of going to "Pedro's"?, Â the cheesy GARLIC BREAD... it is addictive, you know that it is not healthy for you to eat the whole basket but you can not stop.
There are big TV's on the walls so it is a good place to come with your friends for a game night.
Service has been always good and friendly.
The pizza and sandwiches here are about average for a local restaurant. Â The reason that I give 5 stars because their cheese breadsticks are so f'n awesome. Â I've eaten at a lot of pizza joints and these are the best, especially when topped off with fresh ranch or some marinara (or both!). Â I love them so much that when my bf is passing through there he picks up a box for me.
Review Source:My daughter and I decided to try their pizza, we order half combination and half all meat, the pizza was okay. The  female cashier was nice and helpful. This place is old, it's not  fancy but it's a nice place to relax, watch T.V. and drink a cold beer. I heard their breadsticks are really good, but a little expensive, my  ONLY  complaint is  a female costumer  had 6 really young kids, they  were running around screaming, climbing on the tables,  acting like BRATS, while their fat mom just sat there stuffing her face. I left with a big headache, This place is okay.
Review Source:Not the worst pizza choice in Chowchilla (that honor does to Pedro's).
It's great that its family owned and operated. My dad loves their fountain drinks, but I think thats just because he likes their crushed ice.
"Who needs to consume that much cheese?! No one needs to have that much cheese on bread. Pass" - My mom, regarding the cheesebread.
