The place was in a seedy area.... the room was small and the best part of the club was the up and coming comedian's... There was a couple there that sat as close to the comic as possible and gave this angry face. They made the comic very uncomfortable and things worse... As far as the service goes the waitress sucked... she billed me 20 bucks for a pitcher of beer. See what had happened was we were at the table and were ordering drinks and i asked what was on tap. She stated some strange beers and i said i'll take on... my homie said that sounds good i will take one too afterwards the waitress said it will be better and cheaper so we got it... After it was time to pay the check the receipt came to 25 bucks for a pitcher of beer and come clam-chowder.

Don't get there too early. They clean in between shows so you can't just sit and have a drink until they let you in.

Small tight comedy club and bar. Comedian quality can vary so YouTube them first. Drinks weren't too over priced and were not watered down.

If you haven't been to Cozzy's, you are denying yourself one of the best treasures Hampton Roads has to offer! The Happy Hour specials, the incredible staff and the delicious food combine to create one of the most inviting places for a meal, a show or just to come and hang out! The BBQ is off the charts! I've had the pulled pork (smoked several times a week on-site in their signature pink cooker!) and the BBQ ribs. The ribs were crazy good, so tender and full of flavor! I tried the tuna tacos and spinach and artichoke dip this week and I was not disappointed!  Do yourself a favor, put Cozzy's in your GPS and head on over! You can thank me later!

Great comedians, but don't expect the food , drinks and service to be the same.  We visited two times and both time the service has been frustrating.  Although we ordered alcoholic drinks, we had to pay for bottled water because management does not allow glasses of water to be served unless food is being purchased.  The second time we visited, we thought we'd order dinner.  The online menu showed a variety of wraps and sandwiches.  We were disappointed again.  There was only one menu on the table for us to share. We asked what top shelf alcohols  were available, but after we ordered the waitress returned to say they had just run out of the top shelf alcohol.  We tried to order a Reuben sandwich as there were no wraps listed on the menu, we were told the Reuben had just sold out.  We ordered two burgers. These were typical frozen box burgers  served with cold fries.  The waitress did bring us hot fries, but they were still tasteless. The final bill arrived and we were charge for the top shelf drink that they did not serve.  The waitress explained to us that she charged us for it because it was close to the cost of the hot cider drinks we had ordered.  Regardless of her peculiar logic we had her fix the bill.  Needless to say, we do not recommend You go to Cozzy's for food, cleanliness, or service, but definitely go for the comedy.  The brilliant, funny comedians make up for the outdated, cheap decor and disappointing food and drinks.

Avery had a Groupon for Cozzy's, so I made a trip down to Newport News to see live comedy on Friday night. It included admission for two and $20 worth of food.

The first thing that stood out to me is that Cozzy's is more like a tavern than a comedy club, as in it is definitely a restaurant during the day when it isn't comedy time. The comedy clubs I'm used to back at home are strictly comedy clubs, open only for shows and serving a more limited menu without a full sitdown bar area.

The place is not too big, but it is comfortable, and the stage is modest. Both of the comedians performing that night were great!

The food was alright. I thought the portions were pretty generous, and there was a good amount of variety as well.

Service was ok, but there were only a few servers for the entire restaurant, so it was difficult to flag someone down initially. However, she did check on us periodically after ordering throughout our meal.

Went to Cozzy's Comedy Club for the first time tonight and LOVED it!  The comedians (Vince Martin & Jon Mumma) were hilarious and the food was very good.  The following is my review of the CCC&T:

Food/Value: 4.5 Stars - My husband and I ordered the grilled chicken breast and the seared ahi tuna.  They were both delicious and priced very reasonably at $9.99 and $14.99.

Service: 4.5 Stars - I am surprised by some of the reviews on here because we actually had quite good service and the food came out in a timely manner.  I'm not sure if we just got lucky but our experience does not seem to be the norm based on the other reviews.  The only caveat is that I asked that the waitress to omit anything that was fattening and our salad came with cheddar and bacon but it wasn't a huge deal.

Ambiance: 4 Stars - Very relaxed atmosphere, they have been in business for a long time and if you look closely the fixtures show wear (especially in the bathroom) but overall they maintained a very fun atmosphere.

Comedy: 5 Stars - We were very lucky to have the privilege of seeing two very talented comedians.  Even the hostess who acted as a kind of pre-warm up act was funny.

Overall: We had a lot of fun and will most likely visit again very soon.

This was our first visit to Cozzy's Comedy Club. We attended both the early, and late show that Rich Vos put on, on Saturday, the 22nd of October.

I had gone to the club about a week prior to order tickets, and I had my first look around. It's a small club, seating about 140 people. It is tightly laid out, giving the comedians an closeness to the audience that you do not see in larger clubs.

We arrived, early on show night, and were given a table at the back side of the main seating area. I chose this seat, as having had seen Rich Vos on several occasions, I was well aware that he worked the audience during his show.

We ordered off of the menu, prior to the show. The XYL ordered Fish and Chips and I ordered the Nachos platter (having read of it in a previous review of the club).

The wife's order was good, though the fish was on the small side. It was cooked thoroughly, and her food was hot to order. My nacho platter was huge. Piled with grated cheese (and I believe nacho cheese sauce was poured into the middle as well). Peppers, chili, sour cream, lettuce and tomatos. I was not able to eat the entire order, even with having an hour to do so. We both ordered tea, sweetened. It was strong, and refreshing.

Show time. The first show was sold out. Not a seat to be had. Two local warm up acts had appeared. Both put on good sets, though the middle act, had the line of the night, with his reasoning for being fat. (Paraphrased)" I am fat. I was fat as a kid. My mother's uterus smelled like cake".

Rich Vos took the stage next, and for about one hour and 15 minutes he moved back and forth from bits to crowd work.

We stayed at the club, and talked with Vos, waiting for the second show.

Alas, the second show was poorly attended. We went from about 140 attendee's to about 18. Though Vos made some comments about canceling the second show, he went on, and killed instead. He spent the show, brutally working the crowd. And, instead of going through the motions, or cutting the show time short, he worked the crowd for, again, over an hour and fifteen minutes. He is a true professional.

Knowing better, our foursome (myself, the XYL, @CardinalMcGee, @lillivonschtupp) stayed in the back, and tried to keep our of the line of fire. Except for the Vegan budday (@lillivonschtupp). Who repeatedly tried to draw his attention to us (and getting a SHAAAAAAAAADDDDDD YUP from Vos), with her withering commentary.

As we were Opie and Anthony Show fans, our table kept getting the show references that Vos kept throwing in, which seemed to fly over the heads of others. We howled with laughter.

Despite a poorly attended second show, @RichVos put on a better second show, working the crowd, that kept feeding him with one lines, and commentary, that he took and ran with.

Our first trip to Cozzy's Comedy Club. Decent food. Attentive servers. A friendly and concerned staff. Thoroughly enjoyable. Hopefully Rich Vos will return to the club in a couple of months. He is a hard working Comedian, who does not disappoint.

And, had he walked down to Shawl's, he could have sold his dryer door...

I am giving a 4 for the club and atmosphere. 5 for @Richvos and his performance. 3/4 for our food, with a 4 star over all rating. Highly recommended.

Who'd have thought!!! Fun, inexpensive, decent comedy in little Newport News!!!!

For $10, we got two solid hours of reasonable comedy, an hour of it being really good!  Fun cocktails, fun food!!!  This little hole in the wall is a great find!
We had lots of good laughs for a great price.  Check out their website for details on shows.

The service was good (maybe too good?) but we went on a double date with another couple, and really enjoyed ourselves.

I had a martini and shared the most enormous platter of nachos I've ever seen with the rest of my companions.

Get there early to get your choice of seats, and chit chat, because, yes it's rude to talk during the performance.

Was here over the weekend and had one of the best meals there that I've had in a while. I ordered the chicken breast dinner (two chicken breasts, grilled) with a side of the baby baked potatoes. This meals was $9.95 and also came with a salad, I chose the Caesar. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, grilled and salted - SO GOOD! The little potatoes were really good too with a little bit of butter and salt. I will definitely order this meal again next time I am there.
