We have been driving by this place for months, vowing to go in and check it out. Â Finally, this weekend, the bf took me here for our "date night". Â I was skeptical at first because it was 7pm and the place was empty. Â We walked in and sat in a booth immediately. Â The bartender was also our waiter and did his best to recommend items on the menu after the bf tried to order his meal only to be told they didn't make what he wanted anymore. Â After we gave him our order, we gave each other a look as if to say "uh-oh!". Â But, how wrong we were to have any doubts! Â My goodness, the food was AMAZING! Â We are both pretty particular and have eaten at several a fine restaurant, but wow! Â
By this time, the bar started filling up with the crowd coming in for the club. Â Our appetizer came, the Parmesan Coated Steak Tips. Â Amazing!!! Â Then our dinner came. Â I had ordered the Grilled Pork Chop with spinach and potatoes au gratin. Â Good grief, it was DIVINE! Â What is in those potatoes??? Â They were some kind of wonderful! Â I had to force myself to stop eating it because I was full, but man, I could have eaten that all day! Â The bf ordered Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad and he was equally impressed! Â For dessert, a guy at the bar suggested the Strawberry Shortcake. Â YUM! Â
We took a peek into the club before we left, and the club bartender, London, came right over and struck up a great conversation with us. Â Super friendly, totally cool guy. Â As we were leaving the chef came out for a breather. Â We then started talking to him and again, had a simply lovely conversation with him. Â He was welcoming and fun, a total New Yorker with the name of David Cassidy! Â No joke! Â He told us his history and cooking influences and we were really impressed!
Seriously, try this place for a nice dinner out. Â You will NOT be sorry!
Now this was a nice surprise. Â Advertised mainly as a bar, many wouldn't know what great talent there is in the kitchen.
We walked in and took a booth which proved very comfortable. Â The bar tender came over and acted as our waiter for the meal, and he was quite knowledgeable about the food, and really helpful. Â I don't know if it was because it was the right day of the week or not, but we tried their special of the day, fish tacos, and they were truly OUTSTANDING!!! Â Nice crunchy fish, coleslaw with a delicious spicy dressing, just excellent. Â I did in fact consider ordering more of those, and next time I just might make a dinner on multiple orders of that :) Â Makes my mouth water just remembering.
While Mr. Picky wasn't overly thrilled with his seafood pasta dish, I ordered the tri-tip steak with a berry-based BBQ sauce which was just great, and Mr. Picky pushed his own plate away and scarfed up all my mashed potatoes which were excellent! Â Would I go back? Â Absolutely!!! Â I don't know if I'd want, as a "diner" to eat there during a later weekend time slot with more of a bar crowd and loud music, but as an early dinner location it was excellent in the "pre-" period.
Exiting from the freeway, take the driveway to the east of the big furniture store, go past that furniture store and you'll see the place on your immediate left.
