Do not bother with juke box here. I witnessed a bartender here giving dollar bills from the cash register to her friends so they could play their music first. Not a big deal but kinda sucks when you put in your own money only to have the bartender override her customer's choices. From the register no less- at least from the tip jar it's a little better. I like all music- no big deal. It's a bit shady though to use company profits.
Review Source:We always have a great time here. Sometimes too good. Â We usually go after work. Â Its not crowded and and everyone is always so friendly. The bartenders are great and can make a pretty good bloody mary. Â The weekends are much busier and have a younger crowd. Â This is a great dive bar.
Review Source:Bring ur own food when kitchen is closed. AMF on "special" depending on bartender. Come here when you don't want to drink alone. Mini pool tables, TVs, and a juke box for those trusting souls who put dollars in her slot. Parking is easy.
There is a musty odor when you walk in the dark bar...
I've been on a dive bar kick, ever since I've found out that drinks cost half or a third than at regular bars. Â This was a good halfway spot to meet a friend for a few drinks on a week night. Â At first, I was a little scared to go in by myself since there were some shady looking people out front smoking. Â However, I figured that I was fairly safe since it was OC and not Compton. Â There's a few pool tables, a bar area with seating, and some tables towards the back. Â Music is rather loud. Â Drinks are cheap - mine was $5! Â Never had to wait long to get a drink, either, as there were two female bartenders, including a Korean one, which I wouldn't expect in such a place. Â It also smells like cigarettes, though I don't think they allow smoking inside. Â Bathrooms were clean. Â Not the best clientele, but it's a good watering hole spot.
Review Source:Man this place is as good as it gets. Was here last night with friends and its cool because they have pool tables are they let you play free on Sunday. Even though the cords for the lights above the pool table were almost hanging to the floor, I still liked it and I would come back again.
Review Source:I don't know why I didn't think about going to dive bars sooner.
I was a little skeptical walking in... especially once my friend and I noticed that we were on the only females in the entire bar. Â THAT'S not intimidating...
We took a seat at the bar and the bartender, Barbie, immediately walked over. Â I was amazed at how cheap the drinks are compared to other places. Â Anddd.... I was overjoyed to learn that they sell pear cider on tap. Â Awesome. Â They had about 8-10 beers on tap, and it's $4.75 for the "small" glass. Their small is the equivalent of BWW "large." Â I'm sold. Â
All the males inside the bar were mellow (thank goodness...) and one guy asked us to play pool with him and his friend. Â When we respectfully declined, the bartender commented that it was free tonight. Â We both suck at pool, and didn't want to play with strangers anyway... so we just sat and talked. Â The bartender even joined in our conversation. Â She's pretty cool. Â And very pretty.
SMALL NOTE: Debit/Credit card users - there's a $10 minimum or they'll charge you a dollar. Â Keep your tab open and just get a couple drinks and you'll be set. Â Don't pay a fee.
Its a dive bar. The bartenders are - eh? ok I guess. The beer is cheap. They have Foosball, darts and a pool table....
pretty good size for a dive bar. Nice hole in the wall. But i'll only be coming here to meet up with my friends who work close by.
OH - the crowd of regulars are kinda weird. Perfect for a dive bar!
Good place to play some free pool and drink a cheap beer.. place does attract the typical white trash crowd but they are usually friendly and don't look for trouble... Used to go here sundays to play pool with some friends.. haven't been here in awhile though.. they used to have karaoke idk if they still do.. food selection is limited but they do sell a few items.. Crowd is mixed from older people to people who just turned 21.. there are 3 pool tables to play on and lots of tvs to watch sports.. there is also a few dart boards and a jukebox/ipod type player.. cops like to hang around since it is near the main part of buena park so all u drunkies be forewarned.. there is a dance floor but people don't usually dance here.
Review Source:I drive by this place nearly everyday, and I always wonder what kind of joint it would be. In a word, an AWESOME joint. Just a great, chill place to throw back some ethanol, and be either rowdy or mellow, depending on how you incline. Â
The usual fare of pool tables, dart boards, and video games are included with the package. The crowd ranged from the young to old denizens of this side of the county. Bartender was quick on the uptake, an awesome feat considering I think she was working alone. Next time will have to check out bathrooms to see how worthy they are of nightly visits.
So this was a last minute decision, my friends kept talking about this place so I decided to take my girl bestie with me and check out this place. New adventure as we call it. Â As I met up other friends there, we walked inside, Â it wasn't has bad as I pictured it. Â The ppl there were chill and friendly. Â The bartender was awesome, she made me laugh the whole night. Â
It got busier as the night went on. . .
Fully stocked bar!!! loved it! Drinks were cheap. . .
I even got a "mystery" guy who bought me a drink. . .thx guy whomever u were!!!
Been here more than a handful of times now...it's everything a dive bar should be. Cheap beer, pool tables, wobbly chairs, jukebox, and weird clientele.
I've always come here with a larger group, and there is almost always somewhere for us to sit. The pool tables are usually full, so get your quarters out if you're looking to play. The bartenders are always attentive and quick.
The only reason I take stars away is because it's called "Cups' Bar and Grill," and they don't serve food. The first time I was there, there was a strange homeless man demanding free beer and harrassing the bartender. We stayed until closing with her and made sure the homeless man was long gone before leaving.
Came here last night with a group of friends. Pool cues were in decent condition and the beer was cold. Â $9.75 for a pitcher of domestic. They sold cigarettes which saved us from having to drive anywhere for a fix.
The best part was the homeless guy who's whole ass was hanging out of his pants. Â LOL
Well, a big fan of dive bars that I am. I mean who doesn't like a chill place to go to and throw back a couple....and that's exacly what me and the hubby DIDN'T get. We went there...hoping for some grub...AS it states grill and bar or something like that and guess what?? No food....OK..we were starving, but when we went in the waitress that was there...quickly came up to us and was very nice. SO, we thought ok, we'll go get a bite and then come back, they had a lot of TV's we wanted to watch the game, so we wanted to come back...I WANTED TO LIKE THIS PLACE....but when we went back....that nice waitress was nowhere to be found this other woman.....looked at us but didn't smile, didn't say anything......We waited looked around the hubby was going to go to the bar, but she was too busy talking to even notice... SO it didn't look like she wanted our business..... Which was weird b/c the place was DEAD.....like maybe 6 people total, INCLUDING us two......And this other broad, could not even get off her big BUTT, nor say HI...come order at the bar...I mean NUTHING........SO not one to put up with that crap.....WE LEFT... Too many more places out there wanting your business...wanting to take care of ya.....SO No, I won't be going back....I mean act like you wanna make some money, SHEESH.
Review Source:Went here yesterday, found it through yelp. Â Had time to kill before dinner at Portillos and we found this awesome bar. Â the bartender monet?! was awesome, made me some strong drinks for $2.50. Â Sundays have great drink & beer specials. Â If you're by Knotts or Medieval Times, it's great for a cheap drink/dive bar/pool&darts.
Review Source:We had plans to go to the Pirate Adventure and drove across town pretty early in order to miss traffic. Â The annoying tourists waiting in line were too much so we pulled up our Yelp app and found this little dive bar nearby.
It was definitely dive-y (dive-ish?, dive-tastic?). Â The beers were large and cheap. Â The bartender was friendly. Â The clientele was odd but nothing uncomfortable.
