Stopped in for the first time a few weeks ago. Â Nice bar with very pleasant bartender. The bar was quite lively as a Rangers game was on. Â Several patrons wearing Rangers jerseys. Â They have a yahtzee game behind the bar - ask to tak e a roll while you are there.
The dining room was pretty empty and had no  real ambiance.  The food was average. Â
Would go back to watch a game at the bar - probably skip dinner.
I was always a fan of Snug Harbor so I was skeptical when the Daltons took over but I have to say that I am impressed. The food is excellent. Definitely not a fancy-schmancy place but great casual dining fare. The onion soup is great and you can't go wrong with a burger and fries. The chicken Caesar is great too. Now that I've gone back to vegetarianism I don't have as many options unfortunately. Â The bar is well-stocked and the service is friendly.
Review Source:They're baa-ack! Serving tasty satisfying bar food and Irish inflected entrees, this grill is welcoming respite on the Sandy-ravaged peninsula. Attentive service and pretty holiday decor. Plus, for members of the tribe, they had the Levees on their play list. You will need cash through January-that's pretty standard for the Rockaway's right now.
Review Source:Wandering around on a Labor Day Sunday afternoon we came upon Dalton's. Â We were a bit tired, thirsty, and hungry. Â Dalton's seemed like a plausible place although we didn't quite know what to expect.
We were pleasantly surprised. Â The bar is quite nice - the music selection helped. Â Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole. Â It seemed to match the day and the venue. Â The bartender was friendly and attentive as well.
We decided to eat at the bar. Â My friends had the vegetable plate, lobster burger and the turkey BLT. Â I had a panini with assorted Italian cold cuts and cheese. Â I was expecting the food to be merely OK but it was actually pretty good.
If you're in the area I'd give them a try.
Daltons is great! Â We come into town from Chicago a couple of times a year and enjoy a great meal, fantastic service and always a few drinks at the bar. Â The owners and bartenders make us feel so welcome and they pour a great Guiness and also a great martini or glass of wine. Â It's our go-to place in Rockaway!
Review Source:Dalton's Seaside Grill is a great addition to the Rockaways!
Formerly Snug Harbor, the Dalton family took over this spot on 108th and transformed it into "The Happiest Place on Earth." Â (No worries -- you can still order the beloved Harbor Special!)
I usually come to sit at the bar, order apps, and watch whatever games are on the flat screens . Â Ryan and Garrett are two of their super-friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Definitely order the Rock-tini or the home-made sangria. Â
Beer drinkers can order off their tap -- there's the standard Bud, Michelob, Blue Moon, etc but I think they rotate their offerings seasonally. Didn't love the Palm Beer of late but there's always their  Best Poured Guinness!
The menu's delicious. I recommend the onion soup, stuffed mushroom caps, and the tenderloin tips. I'm not a big fan of wings generally, but my guy friends love them there -- I think they also do a Sunday Special on wings & beers during football season.
Overall, I highly recommend this place. Chris Dalton is one of the owners/mangers, and a really great guy -- Â not afraid to come over, say hello, and make you feel welcome. Â I think a lot of Rockaway people were sad to see Snug go, but Dalton's has brought this spot back to life (and light, with all the new stained glass windows!). 5 Stars!
Well, I went here about 6 months or so ago.....chef/owner/head cook was Paul. They had an All U Can Eat mussels on Tuesdays I think that was AWESOME!
However, it seems maybe Paul is no more.....no mussel specials and Tuesdays they are closed.....haha.
So, had the London Broil sandwich was....ok....chewy since my Medium was actually mid rare at best...and yes I know I could have asked to recook....but it was a Sandwich already......get it. Hope they come back to being the loving-type that area needs....excellent food, w perks, and no NYC attitude....if possible..
We'll see...
I've been to Dalton's numerous times since last summer, and I've had a great experience every time. Â
From appetizers to entrees and drinks, this place has it all. Whether stopping in for a quick drink and roll of the dice, or sitting down for a meal, Dalton's has friendly faces and a great staff.
My last experience at the Grill happened to be one of the hottest days in New York this summer, so I decided to stop in for a quick meal and some drinks. Â The place was packed, I decided to sit at the bar and even though every seat at the bar was filled, it was in no time that the bartender greeted me with a smile and an ice cold, delicious glass of homemade sangria was in hand.
After munching on a delicious tomato and fresh mozzarella appetizer, I got the chicken sliders with cheese and it all hit the spot. I love the atmosphere of the place, as just recently a jukebox was installed in the bar area, so I stuck around for another drink and to let my satisfying meal digest and listen to some great tunes.
This is a great place for families, as well as for friends to meet up for a few drinks. It's located right off the beach, so it's a great place to end a fabulous Rockaway summer day.
