This place is the best place I've been in years. Great food, girls, waitresses, staff, even the guys were sharply dressed. No thuggishness, tims or baseball hats. Free admission, a place like this would charge $25 in downtown Boston where I'm from. I was there with a date, and boy, was it hard not to look around.. Do yourself a favor and visit, it's fun, its free and the crowd are great.. The DJ was decent, but could be better. He played a bit of everything, but he should focus on hits and club bangers in each of his selected genre.. But overall, I would visit again and I can't wait to go back...
Great place, I tilt my hat to the owners, the owners should come to Boston to show them how's its done...
This place definitely stands out in Fitchburg-or sticks out like a sore thumb. Â I really want to like it and for the most part, I do. Â While some of the martinis are way too vodka-heavy/too boozy, when they're good, they're very good but otherwise they're just O.K. and a little overpriced for location.
The food isn't terrible but isn't anything to write home about, either. Â Some of the desserts are pretty tasty though-there is some cake with orange in it that is amazing!
Fabulous place to go on a date, or with people you want to impress. Â Saturday night it has more of a club feel after 9pm.
They have a small $5 martini menu, but you have to ask for it. Â On their regular menu, martinis start around $6.50. Â I've had almost every drink on the menu, and I enjoyed about 90% of them.
The food is limited, but delicious.
The staff is great, and if you get to know their name, they'll get to know yours. Â If you want to have proper service with someone very attentive to your needs, don't go on a Friday or Saturday night after 9pm. It just gets too busy.
Fantastic hidden gem in downtown Fitchburg. Â Beautiful decor, comfortable ambience, friendly service - they host a great Jazz/ Blues night/ open Jam on the first Thursday of every month which shows a lot of creativity on their part for bringing in more than the DJ dance crowd (and is just another element making this place stand out). Â
The food menu is small but very yummy and fairly priced - martinis are well done - just an all around great place!
Destare (pronounced des-ta-ray) is a comfortable and nice, atmospheric place with, as others have mentioned, good drinks far more economical than a Boston haunt and your typical array of appetizer foods. Â I've dropped in after a couple of after-hours weekend events at The Rabbit Hole (down the street) and there have always been quite a few people hanging out.
Review Source:Destare gets four stars from me because it stands out as a nice, classy place. (Two terms, I am sorry, that are not always synonymous with the 'Burg.)
The martinis range in price, but start at a very economical $6.50. I really enjoyed the Starbucks Mocha Java and the Felix Tiramisu. I really, really enjoyed the non-Boston like impact on my wallet.
The place itself is filled with comfy couches and chairs where you can sit and relax with your friends. The waitstaff makes the rounds pretty regularly too, so there is no need to go up to the bar or even make ridiculously exaggerated slurping noises to convey that you need a refill.
All in all, it is a cute place that offers stellar drinks for a great price, an appetizing food menu, good service and clean restrooms. Destare may be the only reason to visit downtown Fitchburg. (Just kidding FSC students, please continue to go to Wine Cellar so I can martini myself in relative peace. Thanks.)
Destare is a Martini bar in downtown Fitchburg. Â The martini menu is vast and most of their concoctions are delicious. Â Martinis are $ 8-14. Â Destare is beautifully decorated and is nothing like your average Fitchburg spot. Â
The food is basically sandwiches and apps. Â Nothing special. Â The desserts are not made in house and usually taste like they sat in the freezer too long, but after a few martinis - who cares.
