Big waste of money...but you get to watch a Rod Stewart concert video.
I ate here a few years ago and didn't really care for it, but I decided to try it again with the family. Big mistake. When we got there, the host stand was empty, and we waited for quite sometime in the half empty restaurant. When he finally came, he didn't look a us, greet us, or anything. Finally when I asked, we were seated.
When we walked into the main dining room, an entire wall was dedicated to a projection of Rod Stewart in concert. I kid you not, and I seriously am not creative enough to make something like that up. So, during dinner, we were serenaded by a sweaty Rod singing, "Reason to believe" and "Rhythm of my Heart". Needless to say, this did not add to the dining experience.
The kid's meals were pretty expensive ($9 each for a small portion of pasta!!!!) so we ordered two pasta dishes and one pizza for the six of us to share.
They charged $3.50 for a house salad, which was a handful of bagged lettuce, two tomato slices, one pepperoncini, and dressing. That's it. $3.50 for something that probably cost them about .20 cents. If it had been just my husband and I, we would have walked out. But after unloading all of the kids and carseats, we were committed. Plus we were all ravenously hungry, so I thought that anything would taste good, even if the prices were inflated. I was wrong.
When the food came, it was terrible. It came in three minutes, which means everything is pre-made (that explains the awful taste). The small food portions were a disappointment until we tasted the food. After we tasted it, we were glad to only have to suffer through the small portion. The waitress recommended a mushroom ravioli, which was gritty and gross. And the bill was $68! I don't mind paying $70 for good food, but this was horrible.
My kids also wanted me to mention that the inside is creepy. This is the first time ever that I would have preferred to stay home and eat nothing than to go to a restaurant.
Yelp won't allow me to give a zero star rating, so I've decided that the one star is for Rod Stewart. It's not his fault he's a part of this travesty.
So if you want overpriced bad food, in an ostentatiously weird building, and a Rod Stewart extravaganza, this is the place for you. If you're like 99.9% of people who do not like those things, stay away.
This a  cavernous resturant with poor food.  The prices are high $16-25 for a main pasta meal. They do not have pesto. We got the meat raviolli's which came out in less then 5 minutes. Make me wonder if they just warmed them in a microwave.  The sauce was bland.  And they charge $5 to split a plate. 33% of a meal to split and dinner. Â
No impressed and would never return nor recommend Di Cicco's on Tower road.
The atmosphere is very cool, and was the primary reason for my returning to this restaurant for a second time.
Our server was polite, though not very personable. He was fast with the drink orders, but it took about 20-30 minutes to get our food. After we received our order, our waiter did not return to ask how our food was, and didn't stop by to give refills until he came to drop off the check. (My dad, who was dining with me, was sucking ice out of our empty glasses because our drinks hadn't been refilled all evening.)
I had the minestrone and spaghetti with marinara sauce, and I appreciated that they remembered my request that my spaghetti not be garnished with cheese (I'm lactose intolerant). The noodles were cooked well and the sauce, though on the runny side, was tasty.
My party was too full for dessert when our waiter (finally) returned to give us our check. In general the food is pretty good and it's a gorgeous restaurant, but the service is lackluster so I'm hesitant to recommend it to others.
Parking was great, I never see that many cars there. We got inside and were seated right behind the projector.. Needless to say there were only 2 other parties in the restaurant, so why they sat us there I HAVE NO IDEA. The projector noise was really nice. First, my partner asked for no tomatoes, and viola... there were tomatoes. Then it took pulling teeth to get a refil of drinks during the meal... Needles to say the server was not that good, and the cooks didn't prepare the food the way it was ordered. Over priced - reheated COSTCO tasting food. And what was the extremely NASTY smell outside of the restaurant? It smelled like raw sewage.. Don't think I'll be going back. It may have been good when it first opened, but appears that it has gone downhill.
Review Source:Di Cicco has pretty good food and is in a good location for out of town guests being near several hotels and DIA. Â I had the Di Cicco special pizza for dinner and Spumoni for dessert. Â Enjoyed both.
More interesting is that this is a great place to have a large party or meeting (200+ people). Â The restaurant is designed like a dinner theater auditorium. Â Beautifully decorated and perfect location if you have out of town guests since there are so many hotels within walking distance.
Took my wife out for her birthday. If you're not from the surrounding area, this place is in BFE. I wouldn't drive from central Denver to come up to this place. Much better Italian places downtown and in DTC.
The place was kinda creepy and dark. The staff wasn't the best, but it must have been a slow night because we were probably 2 out of maybe 8 people there!
The food was sort of bland and not very attractive. Veggies looked tired and the chicken was dry.
I cant remember how much it cost, but I know I could have gone to the Olive Garden for around the same price :(
If you're stuck in the area and you are feeling like Italian, go here. But I wouldn't make a special trip.
My wife and I have eaten here twice now, the first time was lunch and the second was dinner both times the service was perfect. Fast and friendly always works for me! For lunch we had salads and split a pizza which was very good, thin crust and better than most pizza places in the area. After that we kept saying that we would have to come back for dinner. We finally made it for dinner, my wife had the trio combination, Ravioli, Lasagna and Spaghetti. The Ravioli's were fresh made, the lasagna tasted very traditional with great tasting cheese and bits of meatballs. I had the Chicken Cacciatore which was prepared different from anything I've had before. Instead of using a whole pieces of chicken they cut chicken breast into strips. This made it easier to eat and perhaps less messy, the sauce, onions, peppers and mushrooms was the way I like it, very tasty! I had the spaghetti on the side and the sauce wasn't too bland or too sweet, a good basil marinara. They grate Romano cheese here which is a nice change from most Italian restaurants. We really enjoyed the projection screen, they had a Frank Sinatra DVD playing when we came it. Because I travel as part of my job and sometimes my wife will drop me off and pick me up at the airport we will make Di Cicco's a regular dinner stop.
Review Source:Unfortunately no Happy Hour :( Drink was pricey but good. The food was great. Â We just had the seafood appetizer and fried ravioli. Delicious! We dipped the bread in the seafood broth. Â They have a cool indoor stage for music and such. I avoided the place because there are no windows and I Â really go for ambiance. Â This would be a great place for a show!
