If I could give this place a Zero, I would. One of the worst restaurants in Benton. I hadn't been in a few years and hoped that It had turned itself around, but I was wrong. Service was awful, one of the worst I'd ever seen (orders messed up several times, rudeness, inattentive, etc.) Food was bland and unappealing. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. Just say no.
Review Source:Light portion very light... Vegies over cooked to mush but the grilled cajun catfish was great and i noticed the rolls never stopped going to the table next to mine. Â If you are looking for a healthy american classic - Â look else where... But fried with gravy appears to be their speciality
Review Source:We were looking for another road food kinda place on our list and couldn't find it so we stopped here because we were starving.
They saw us coming and rolled out the red carpet. Â
Friendly, huge portions, hot food.
Chef's Salad for me again!! Â But others got: Â Red Beans and Rice! Â Macaroni and cheese done right! Â Blackened catfish! Â Corn Bread! Â Turtle Cheesecake!
Hungry yet?! Â Â Wish we had this up north cause we'd be here every week. Â
Thank you to the crew at Dixie Cafe! Â We really enjoyed our meal.
My Daughter and I went there to eat Sunday. This is a not good place. The food was mediocre. I had the chicken Fried Steak, red beans and rice, small salad. She had Cheeseburger-ketchup only and fries. We both tried the appetizer sampler. It consisted of fried mushrooms, fried cheese sticks, fried chicken tenders, and fried something else. The point is it really didn't matter it was all fried and fried poorly. The appetizers all tasted exactly the same. It was crowded and I understand so I wasn't upset about the after church crowd. In fact, I bet much to the chagrin of all the other people sitting around and waiting to be seated, I walked in and told them how many was in our party and was sat immediately. Mind you there was like 20 people in front of me waiting. We were brought to the front of the line! (I think it made a few folks unhappy) I even told them that I didn't mind waiting since we really would prefer a table over a booth anyway. Funny-the greeter turned us down and said that I could either have this seat or leave. I thought "well this many people waiting to eat I better take it since it must really be good." Word to the wise-never say that to yourself. I suspect that everyone else was waiting to see if we survived the food before they sat down to eat. We got to our booth and the waitress was pleasant. Ok...no problem then. Wrong...We were given a menu and she took our drink orders. Upon return, we told her we decided to try the sampler appetizer. She took the order and came back to take our entree' orders. We made those order about 15 minutes after the appetizer order. At which time she asked if we would like warm bread and cornbread as well. Sure! 10 minutes later, she returns....we only have this...she sat a basket of bread in front of us that the dough had not been allowed to rise and it was burnt. "We ran out of cornbread so this is all you get"......ummm...this bread isn't fit to eat so what was the point? 20 minutes later, she brings the appetizers-cold....immediately behind her another lady has all of the rest of our order and plops all of it at the same time on the table. "Is everything alright?" she asked. "Not really," I said, "we just got our appetizers cold and haven't even had time to enjoy them and now you bring us our entrees" She said well sir, all of it has been sitting up there for a while and I am too busy to worry about you cant you see how full we are? I don't have time to worry about it! And then she walked away. We couldn't eat our food! It tasted bad the food was all cold etc. Further, the food was all WAY over priced! After things slowed down (maybe 30 minutes later) the original waitress came and asked if everything was OK. I told her that the food wasn't good and she said well I am sorry let me see what I can do. Fair enough I though, so she brought out the other lady who told me that that was as good as she has time to do and I would just to live with it. She did offer to take it back there and stick it in the microwave. Oh I forgot to mention, they didn't even get my daughters cheeseburger right. It had no ketchup-that was all she asked for! The woman refused to take anything off the ticket so we had to pay full price for food that could not be eaten...I think the Red Beans were still frozen even! Not a good experience for an enjoyable dinner.
