Overall I would not recommend this place. Our server was friendly even though she was overworked, and the atmosphere was pleasant but the food was terrible. I ordered meat loaf and was given meat mush. The mashed potatoes were disappointing, which is hard to say for potatoes! The mac & cheese was average buffet style. My sister-in-law had burnt chicken tenders and fries that looked like they had been left out all day. I wanted to like it but I just couldn't.
Review Source:Stopped by for lunch and we were both impressed by the great attitude of the hostess and our server.
This was our first visit and we were made to feel at home.
If you're looking for Southern Comfort Food, this is the place.
We were amazed by the menu.
I ordered the spicy black eyed pea soup and chicken fried stake with
cole slaw and red beans and rice, it was all good, and came very quickly.
My wife ordered the fried catfish with okra and salad. She devoured it. This is a lady who could care less for okra.
Because we were first-timers they gave us two free desserts and two $5 certificates towards out next meal.
Our bill was $16, and that's a good deal.
Great service and attitude, lots of local folks here. No wonder.
  Harrison's Dixie Cafe rocks.
We had no issues on our visit. The food was delivered very quickly and was abundant and delicious! Our server was efficient and quick on the refills. I am a sucker for Southern cooking and this place delivers! I had a Vegetable Platter, called Vegetable Heaven. I was able to choose 4 or 5 sides, plus a side salad. I went with the 4 sides and no salad....still more than plenty. Hubby had Chicken and Dumplings. Huge bowl of creamy goodness, plus two sides. Two of our companions had the Turkey special....Wow...Thick slices of roasted Turkey, cornbread dressing and mashed taters, gravy and cranberry sauce, plus another side. One other in out group had the Hamburger steak-gigantic portion of chopped steak, with mashed taters and two sides.Everyone enjoyed their food and two of the guys had room for dessert...Peach Cobbler. It looked and smelled fantastic, but all I had room for was a whiff of the peachy goodness....Another time, perhaps! We'll have no trouble coming back to a place that serves good home cooking at great prices!
Forgot to mention..Fried Corn on the Cob...sounds as good as it tastes!!
First off, food is fine. Â Had a party of nine and all were happy with dishes.
Here's the rub:
1) placed under a known leaking vent (I assume condensation from ac), after it dripped on my wife then on the other side of the table on my mother ( ugh....), I insisted they move us. Â The waitress seemed so horrified that I would request and said she would talk to the mgr. Â They moved us, or rather we moved ourselves when she pointed at another table.
2) new waitress started taking our orders. She seemed unhappy with plenty of attitude, which seemed odd as the place wasn't that busy.
In sum, food was fine, service not so much. Â Harrison has better places i'm sure
