Dark pit of despair full of jack holes and carnie types. Steer clear. At least have decent service. But no, instead slow or no service for terrible drinks.

There are two reasons you go to a bar.

One is for camaraderie.  The other is to drink.

Doc is a drink bar.  It's a bar you can go alone, or go with a friend, and just... get a drink.  And barring a one out of a hundred moment - or you are idiot enough to discuss politics with someone who just polished off a very reasonably priced pitcher of beer (They have pitchers!) - it's a great quick hang.

And in Santa Clarita, where everything is a chain, this is a welcome thing.

Had I known a Yelp for Doc's existed, I would have written one a long time ago. I am a long time customer there. People know me as Rick, the guy who always has the "Jameson Bomb"  (for you new people that is Jameson Whiskey and Redbull), seriously, don't be a puss and actually try it.

I've spent the last 7 years visiting this great little dive bar.  I don't like saying it's a dive bar, but it is. However, it is the BEST dive bar that you will ever find! The other patrons are fun to get to know, there is always conversation with new people as well as completions with darts. My favorite? The bartenders and bar backs. Doc's Inn will surprise you with a wonderful Staff, Andi, Randy, Steve, and of course there beautiful and elegant European Czech accent'd Katka. Everyone greets you with a smile and makes you feel like you are part of the family the first time around.

Whether you are there for a beer after work, on a date, playing darts, or taking time out for shots with friends, this bar makes you feel comfortable enough to relax as if it was in your own living room.  Because of this, Im a long time customer and always will be. If you can stop by, I'll always be more than happy to do a Jameson bomb with a new face!

You'll find Doc's is more than just a dive bar, its a community family (dysfunctional at times like most families, but still a family in its own right!) Hope to see you there!

Greasy hotdogs from the vender on the street corner... Finding money on the ground that isn't mine... beating a cocky guy at pool in front of his hot girlfriend... These are some of my guilty pleasures.

Now I can add: Spending the evening at Doc's Inn to my list.

I have been there two or three times now, and it gets better each time.  The atmosphere seems to fit my taste perfectly.  It is a dive bar, but unlike a lot of dive bars, the regulars treat you like one of their own.  Everyone wants to talk, drink, or play darts with you.  Whenever I walk in, I feel welcomed there.  There is quite a large bar for the size of the establishment, so getting "first in line" for a drink never seems to be an issue.  Oh, and did I mention... live band.  Yep.  It's a good time.

However, the best part of this place isn't the regulars.  It isn't the enormous bar, or the dart boards.  In fact, the live band doesn't even come close to being the best part... The most incredible part about this place is the staff.

The bartenders are always super friendly and engaging.  I feel like I have known them for years!  In particular, Katka, one of the weekend bartenders, is incredible.  It is refreshing to see a bartender that loves her job as much as she does.  Her attitude alone is enough to make me want to come back again and again (not to mention the strong drinks she can't seem to stop pouring for my friends and me!).

So, if you are looking for a place with a great crowd, amazing atmosphere, cheap drinks, and the best bartender in Santa Clarita Valley... Check this place out.

You might be surprised.  You won't be disappointed.  And you might find yourself with a new guilty pleasure.

Let me start by saying i hate the Santa Clarita Valley for "going out". I frequent a lot of amazing places but I still am dumbfounded by this local gem. The staff is amazing, since the first time my roommates and myself went there they have not only been receptive but welcoming and kind. The service has been exquisite... and the drinks/prices more then fair. I would like to make special mention of one bartender who is the reason i continuously frequent Docs, Katka, while not trying to seem sycophantic, she pours your drink expediently, and with a smile. She is also (In my humble opinion) the best bartender around. She engages every customer in a sincere way, no matter their level of inebriation and makes a great rep-or with them. I have never seen anyone dissatisfied with her service. If your looking for a hole in the wall and too have a good time this is the spot to be...especially if your in a dart kinda mood

Doc's Inn, like any great dive bar, can be very hit and miss depending on when you atend.  I've had fantastic evenings, and nights where the place has been a ghost town.  The best part of Doc's is Scheree (Probably spelled that wrong)!  She is an awesome bartender.  Always pleasant, loves to rock out to the juke box, etc.  I've had so so experiences with some of the other bartenders, however, Scheree keeps me coming back!

A true "dive" and I mean that in a good way. Cheap drinks, an entertaining crowd and great bands on most Fridays/Saturdays!

Cheap drinks. Easy going people. Very random crowds gather here. May or may not be a great place to meet a one armed girl with Low standards who will just about do anything if you know the lyrics to 2 or more Blackhawk songs.

Was a dive bar when I us to go as a single girl in  the 90's and still a dive bar today! I didn't have a bad experience here but I was with good company. Don't know if I will come back.

Went here for my boyfriends birthday on a Friday night... It was alright.. for some reason, he loves the place but I dont really see why... both of my drinks were poorly made by the older female bartender with ridiculously large boobs... only after it took her 10 minutes to even acknowledge me.. One of the other men working there noticed me first and did nothing.. all he did was point at the lady bartender....and it wasn't even busy :/...

I order a tom collins, which was nothing like it was suppose to be and not made in the right glass... the second one she made me was somehow pink... i was so confused that i asked her what she gave me after she made it.. overall, i think my biggest complaint was obviously her.. the people in the bar were very nice, the place was clean, it had a  nice little outdoor patio, and we had a great time playing with both dart boards..if you dont have a problem with waiting for drinks and dealing with that woman, then go for this place.. you can at least be distracted by her chest while u wait

    THIS PLACE.

It's the most epic dive bar- free hot dogs in a slow cooker, bags of chips all over the place, cheaper pitchers.

On one hand, it's painful to be in, on the other hand, it's hilarious.

Darts competitions occasionally, but considering how hammered people get, I'd be afraid for my life.

1 star for the ridiculous 50 something cougar bartender.

This is the kind of place where you wipe your feet, at the exit.

If you go into Doc's and you don't understand the "chips" or the dark dingy apperence, then your nose might be pointed too high in the air.

Doc's is the perfect neighborhood bar to stop in for a few beers after work or for a nitecap after doing a pub crawl.

Friendly bartenders and nice customers, not to mention drinks with decent amounts of alcohol and very reasonable prices.

So walking in with one of my best (gay) friends a while back, we enter and he turns to me and says, "This looks like the bar Matthew Shepard was murdered in."
I mean, it's a total dive. But I've never seen a fight here, and it's in a safe neighborhood, with the same bartenders and crowd-type. I like that; consistency. And the women folk who work there are characters to the max, but sweet, sweet ladies. And yeah - Mary's always bringin' chips. I'll choose Doc's over 'Bj's' or 'Fridays' anyday.

I've been waiting for the right time to write this review because like a favorite child or your best friend, you don't really wanna whore it out too soon. You want to save it for yourself and enjoy and cherish it, but seeing as how there are a few other reviews out there in the universe for this place already, well, here goes. My dos cents...

Doc's is kinda like a meth lab meets Cheers. And I, of course, mean this in the very best way. There are a cast of quirky characters, old men, rough lookin' ladies, divorcees, rippled textured ceilings and a back patio that feels like a meet up for repo men and maybe hog wrestlers. Again, I mean this in a stellar and super awesome way.

It's just that perfect kind of dive bar. The kind of bar with a band on some nights were the 50 year old drummer has a rat tail. The kind of bar where the Russian bartender (Katka) says your kids will be hot as you sit there on a date with your cute new boyfriend. Yeah, it's the kind of bar I can safely call a new fave and I foresee many a drinking adventure in store for me here :)

Call my RX in, cuz I'm hooked, Doc!

Wow - that's all you can really say when you walk in.  It's dark, it's dirty, and there's a good chance you'll be engaged in conversation with some of the more ... 'colorful' elements of the community, but all in all, I like it here.

Often confused for a hotel by people thumbing through the phone book, Doc's Inn is a tiny little joint off of Lyon's avenue in Newhall, about a half mile east of the 5 freeway.   Parking in the front is extremely limited, but there's a lot in the back, and plenty of street parking on the side street.  The staff is helpful and friendly, and if you show up more than two or three times, you begin to feel like part of a huge, dysfunctional family.  The prices on drinks are great, and they always have a steady supply of pretzels to munch on.  Not to mention some really decent mustard to go with.  Wednesday night is traditionally karaoke night, and all the Wednesdays I've been going there have large turnouts, and more often than not, people start dancing before too long.  Saturdays there's almost always live music, and though I couldn't tell you who any of the bands are, it's still a good time.  There are two dart game machines and a Golden Tee machine in the place, and a large smoking patio in the back.  The clientèle range in age from 21 to quite a bit higher, but the average age swings different directions on different nights - karaoke tends to be a slightly younger crowd (that I've seen).

In the end, this is my neighborhood bar, and it's a gritty little place, but you just can't beat walking in where you're greeted with a hug, or a smile, or a question about what's been going on lately - Katka, Mary, Tammy, the whole crew is just phenomenal.  Stop in sometime!

Hmm. . . White trash? REALLY? I must be blind or I've probably been to far more (real) dive bars than most people.

Hottest bartenders in town by far!! Especially the guy with the adorable dimples!!!!

The best little shit hole in SCV!

As has been stated, there is white trash and weirdos, but that is just to keep out those that don't know anything about Doc's.  ;o)

It's still the favorite Hart High reunion place.

Definitly a dirty dirty dive bar with a crazy bar maid and such, but the best one in the valley for sure! The people are friendly, the bands are mostly good, and I could sit and play darts all night long if i wanted to. Cant beat that!!
But be prepared for dirtyness and weird people.
But its the best out here.

This place is really gross. That being said, if you don't mind white trash and a dirty bar then by all means, try it for yourself. I thought it was really odd that with your drink purchase you get a bag of chips- you know the kids size bags you would put in a child's lunchbox... strange

    I love this place..
    what a shit hole...
really.. not in a cool way.. it is really a shit hole..
    but I LOVE IT..
just as a real shit hole should be, dark, cheap, and full of real alcoholics.
the only problem is that you get a young rowdy crowd in there some nights.
and you know how young guys are that are drinking 21-24 years old..
that testosterone gets flowing, and before you know it there is a fight, and blah blah blah..

I dont know why, but I am the supreme asshole magnet..
I think it is because I am a 'bigger' guy,
6' at a lean 175lbs and the tattoos...
every young buck feels the need to come out and try to start a fight with me..
little do they know I am a total pussy, and would never fight a little kid in a bar.... in valencia of all places..

but you get what you pay for..

fun place.. good music, STRONG drinks..

but beware of some possible dumb ass kiddery.
