This is where you want to go to " do your time" when the line at the DMV next door is hours long.
Not so relevant for this review, but should you be employing this strategy, on the day I was here, the DMV averaged about 2 mins per number... Meaning I had 2+ hours to kill to cover the time between #600 and #674. That's time for lunch and two beers.
The place is a little hard to find - it's really tucked away. Â It's at the far south end of the section of strip mall containing the DMV. Â From Home Depot, go east across a though-driveway to the other section of buildings. Â The bar faces south.
As far as the bar itself... slightly too nice for dive. There's a jukebox, pool table, a few TVs, and a golf game for entertainment. 12 taps: 6 macro lagers (bud and friends), 3 great divide, blue moon, Tommyknocker maple brown, and NB seasonal. The usual bottles. Big bar with seating for over a dozen, hi tops, tables, and a few booths.
The burgers are pretty solid, very homestyle with a buttered, toasted bun. Burgers come with fries or house-made, crispy, skin-on chips.
Overall, tasty food, pretty solid beer selection, and okay ambiance. Â About a thousand times better than sitting in line at the DMV.
My favorite bartender from another establishment is now working here and that is what has brought me to this bar. Â I have been here a few times in the past and also when it was Bear Valley Inn. Â The doghouse is much nicer, cleaner and friendlier than the old BVI was. Â They feature Jim Beam for $3 all day!! Â My favorite!!! Â The food menu is better than the average bar with smoked wings, lots of burgers and an interesting take on giant hotdogs. Â The nachos are different than at other bars with chips layed out and drizzled with guacamole, sour cream and other goodies.
Very clean, fun and friendly!!
This is an amazing little neighborhood pub, with equally amazing food!! We go for the smoked hot wings that are absolutely hot and divine. These wings aren't baby wings either, so an order is quite filling. We also love the waffle fries and fresh pub chips. My kids love the chicken strips (but don't order the kids menu chicken strips, they're lesser quality. The grown up chicken strips are pure perfection). In fact everything we've ever ordered was awesome. Great juke box, lots of televisions for those sporty types. The staff is average so they lose a star, but we love this place anyways :)
Review Source:This place is tucked away in the back of the Bear Valley shopping center, but it's worth it to hunt it down. Service is always great, and everything on the menu is above average for a bar. The green chile is better in the summer months, but the burgers and sandwiches never let down! Must try the "Foot Long Corn Dog", best around hands down!
Cons: What Cons?
Aaron the manager is the best there is, and  Moe & Annie make every night great!
I keep coming back for more! Tucked away behind the Bear Valley shopping center, you'll find delicious food, friendly staff, and almost anything you could want to quench your thirst (even seasonal beers!). Doghouse is no dive. It's clean and there's ample parking. This is the best neighborhood hangout in the area.
Review Source:Waffle Fries that keep you coming back along with a nice long Happy Hour. Â Their Buffalo Chicken Wrap is also amazing really spicy though so look out if you aren't into spicy food. Â Great deal on pints during happy our and usually have Titan IPA on tap which is a plus. Â I highly recommend this place for a casual hangout. Â It is hard to find, you have to go all the way back past Cici's pizza in the Bear Valley Shopping Center-well worth the search.
