Okay, so maybe its not fair that I came here after the Gallery Hop.
I was coming here to see a band that I know play and so would have come here no matter what it was like, but I probably wouldn't come here on my own. Â The 1st hurdle was to find it! Â For some reason, we couldn't see it right in front of us! Â It was tucked, hidden away into the corner of a strip mall. Â It had a lovely patio that would be nice in the summer time, but this evening was just too chilly.
The bouncer at the door didn't say a word. Â Now I know that this isn't the most thrilling of jobs, but it always seems to unnerve me when the 1st person you encounter in the place just stares at you coldly. Â
Next stop - restrooms. Â These were surprisingly nice! Â Most bars don't rank well up there in the cleanliness department but these were. Â Also, I could smell the bleach which to me, while a bit strong, signals that at least they had at least been recently cleaned. Â Whew!
The place wasn't very busy even with a big screen TV playing one of the NCAA Final 4 games. Â The crowd that was there was a mix of young and old there was a small group playing pool at the back of the bar. Â They say that they are an Irish pub, but it didn't really feel like any of the Irish Pubs I've been to. Â To me, it was just a bar. Â The band that I went to see was a blues band, and although they say they have live music every Friday and Saturday, they don't say what type of music it usually is.
Not a bad bar, just not my type. Â I wouldn't tell people not to go there, just try it out an see if its your type.
