Down town Ollie's has the best Bloody Mary on the planet! Â Every Sunday at 10 am, you need to have Mike make you one of his special Bloody Marys! A buddy and I go there every Sunday and have one. Â Mike's Special Bloody Mary has fresh shrimp, bacon strip, olive, celery spear, cucumber spear, bell pepper, fresh ground garlic, Spices, lime and of course the Vodka and a splash of Guinness. Â One of the best Bloody Mary's we have ever had. Â You should try one, it is a snack in itself.

- orchard cider(5)
nice 8% sweet brew.
-gin & tonic (3.75)
even pour
on draught:
-hip hop house music

-service dog sniffing everyone for meth. (that's what her handler told me).
dog wasn't just being friendly.
-large parking lot in back.
NOTE: This review is for their Saturday night Karaoke.
So last Saturday night my wife and I decided to drop by Downtown Ollie's for Karaoke (since our normal spot was closed for the owners being out of town, plus a re-model).
It was very easy to find and there's a convenient lot parking in the back.
We got there right before 9PM (the advertised karaoke start time) and entered the bar through the back. The first thing my wife and I (both non-smokers) noticed once we entered was that the door to the "outdoor" smoking patio attached to the bar was OPEN, so the (second-hand) cigarette smoke from the 3 people smoking out there (the bartender and the 2 karaoke hosts) drifted right into the bar.
So my wife ordered us a couple of drinks while I grabbed a song book to look at the song choices.
VERY NICE selection of songs.
Unfortunately, they didn't start the Karaoke until around 9:20PM. By this time we had had about enough of the second-hand smoke, plus there were only 3 guys in attendance (not including my wife, myself, the bartender and the karaoke hosts). We found it strange to be so slow for a Saturday night. So I asked the bartender to close out my tab (which wasn't possible due to the $10 minimum credit card charge, so I paid cash). and we left.
THE GOOD:
- Convenient location and parking
- Clean, nice-looking bar and bathrooms
- Great song selection for Karaoke
THE BAD:
- Karaoke didn't start on time.
- Very low attendance
THE UGLY:
- Open door to smoking patio (this is what did it for me). That door needs to be kept closed.
I refer to this place as "the old folks bar" since that is generally what it is. With that said, even though I'm a young man *cough* I have been here a few times since the loud ass live music seems to draw me in. Considering the clientele I understand why the music would have to be played just a notch below ear-splitting.
The bartenders seem to cater to the regulars making it hard to grab a drink sometimes. It's ok, I understand these people don't have much time left so theirs is much more valuable...
I may stop here again if the band sounds decent from down the block. As long as it's not karaoke. I'll be sure to brush up on the latest edition of AARP magazine so I can have something relevant to talk about with my fellow bar patrons...
I don't really frequent this place, but based on the handful of times I've been here, I've had a pretty positive experience each time. Â The crowd here is pretty welcoming overall, despite the fact that it's an older crowd.
Prices are fair, but I've gotten used to the cheap prices over yonder at the Good Times, but nothing unreasonable here.
Saw the rock/metal cover band Slackenloader here a couple weeks ago and had a lot of fun even though it wasn't very crowded, but the set up of this bar tends to be a bit cramped so that's actually a good thing if you like your space and I do.
The bartender lady seemed indifferent towards the crowd, like she sees what she's doing as money in her pocket and not something she seems to really enjoy. Â Anywhere you go, if the staff is friendly, you can count on the fact that they love their job, but this lady didn't seem terribly upbeat. Â Still seems nice, though.
I'd come back on occasion, though. Â It's a nice dive.
I went to Ollie's about a month ago because I heard they had karaoke on Saturdays. Â One visit is all it took for me to fall in love with Ollie's! Â Karaoke Saturdays with Terry and Xavier is a ton of fun. Â They are very welcoming and very supportive to all those that go on stage. Â Mike is a great bartender and an awesome singer as well. Â It's a mixed crowd that knows how to have a great time at this dive bar.
If you ever want to live out your American Idol or X-Factor dreams on the karaoke stage, Ollie's on Saturday nights is the place to be.
Be forewarned: This is not a swanky bar with fresh fruit in their cocktails and hot, young patrons. Â It's a karaoke dive bar, baby!
Go out to a late dinner on First Street on Saturday night then walk on over to Downtown Ollie's. Â The crowd is a mix of white trash, the possibly homeless and the cool kids (me and my friends...right).
Thankfully, the mean lady doesn't work here anymore. Â The people that run the karaoke now are really nice and supportive. Â The guy bartender is really cool, too.
Side note: My wedding invitation photo from four years ago was snapped on the smoker's patio. Â And I don't smoke. Â Anything can happen at Downtown Ollie's!
I love Ollie's. My friends and I go on the weekends, usually for the karaoke night, and it can either be a few people or completely packed. There's definitely regulars, but no one is ever unwelcoming.
The bartenders have always been super friendly, as well as the other customers. It's easy to just show up and interact and dance with fun people of varying ages. Yep, there's definitely older people there, but it's a pretty broad mix of age groups.
If you want to go someplace casual and low key where you can sing along with strangers, Ollie's rocks.
Sometimes it's just a random weeknight and all you need is a good friend, some wild turkey and a pool table!
Downtown Ollie's is small, has a nice pool table and a jukebox. It's the perfect place to kick back after work on a weeknight. Not sure what it's like on the weekend - but it's gotta be better than Blue Bar!
Its a fun place if you bring a lot of friends. I enjoy watching people get up there and try to sing. I got to say that Jeremy and Michele are dam good. Definitely get there when they are entertaining the crowd. The old lady is kinda grumpy most of the time. We stopped by there last night and it was DEAD, so we went on to the Wild Vine and they had a good band.
Got to say Livermore has more night life than most other towns.,Not the cleanest place, but the beer is good and its something to do on a Saturday night.
This place is along the way of my usual bar hopping route. Â The times that I have stopped I could count on one hand and most of them brief, seeing as the bar tenders have never been friendly towards me and the Karaoke is Karaoke... nothing special. Â The lady who runs it is moody most of the time.
Their bathroom on the other hand is the best part about this place. Â Clean, quiet and bright. Â :-D
If you are looking for a true dive bar, go to Downtown Ollies. In the 2 years living here, I had never been. I finally went on a Wednesday night so my husband, friend and I were the only ones there other than a couple of regulars. They've got a pool table and it looks like there set up to have bands and karoke on the weekend. This is the kind of place you can go not trying to impress anyone. :)
Review Source:Went in last night after eating at the Mexican place next door. NASCAR on the big screen, The Food Channel on the smaller TVs, Karaoke done by people that bring their own CDs in little cases like Minnesota Fats walking into a pool hall and, on this night, a bachelorette party that was surprisingly in tune with country music. Interesting and fun night.
Review Source:Ok I have revisited D.O. ... and I have to admit it was pretty hopin' for a Saturday night! We went there after our 80's party @ Red Feather so we were all dressed up... made it that much more fun!
I thought this was more of an "older" bar - and while there was a couple, there was definitely more people our age in there...
.... and not to mention... KARAOKE! My fave
A place where you can Karaoke and not feel like you're auditioning for American Idol.
Very fun! Up a star
Stopped in when I was getting my wife's SUV washed at the drive-thru on L St. Â After I checked in with the wash attendant, I walked over to catch the NFL playoff game at Ollie's. Â Nice folks inside who didn't seem to mind a stranger had entered their private watering hole.
By the time I had a couple of brews, I walked back to pick up my vehicle and was on my way. Â Perfect timing.
Pretty good neighborhood bar. Clientele is mostly made up of  people over 40. Their best night is Friday when they have live music, typically classic rock. One nice thing about this bar is the big windows in the front which make  it an especially nice place to drink a beer on a sunny afternoon.
I recently had to downgrade the place by one star due to price considerations. Beers cost 4-5 dollars even though the Good Time Tavern, which is right around the corner, has two dollar drafts till 10:00 every night of the week.
