Went here on a Sat nite with a female friend and my guy- walked in and it was a major sausage party! Seriously, me and my friend were 2 out of 5 girls there and like 50 dudes, which is fine- but a more equal number of guys vs girls would have helped fill the dance floor. Kind of a dive-y atmosphere with loud music playing, nice outdoor area for smoking or just enjoying a hot summer night. Â I'm subtracting two stars because I was served the WEAKEST drinks I've ever had, and for the price I paid- not cool. Â And, there was an employee there who was like a bouncer/busboy person who made it a point of not only staring at my cleavage, but then made several comments (which I'm sure he thought were simple compliments) right in front of my man- again, not cool. Made me glad I went there with a man at my side, because I know I wouldn't have been comfortable if it were just my girlfriend and I.
Review Source:Horrible time! Â I wish I could give less then one star. Â Was a huge fan until the other night when the security guard, who has flirted with me before in front of my boyfriend, touched me in a way that he DEFINITELY should not have. Â No touch where someone's hand goes beneath a table is appropriate.... Â And when this was brought up to the bar manager, all was said that he would be talked to and if this happened again he would be let go. Â I didn't realize sexual assault was tolerated, but it looks like it is at Drifters. Â Girls, don't go somewhere where you can't drink in safety!
Review Source:This place is such a dive! I am giving it two stars because there's this little part of me, even though I have totally out grown the need to frequent these places, that has a soft spot for this place. I used to cocktail waitress here back when it was Club Ted and made a sh*tload of money! LOL
Anyway, the beers are cheap, bathrooms are dirty, music sucks, and the staff are typical bar staff. I wouldn't feel safe stepping in to this place alone, and the patio area is filthy with cigarette butts all over the place but at least it's outside.
In all, if someone is having a special night and wants to go here, I'll go. Otherwise, I'm out.
Love this dive bar! Been going here for about year and the staff is great. The drinks are great and if you want GREAT live music then head there around 9pm on a Friday night. I used to live near Hollywood and love live music. I really thought I might loose out on that part of my life since I moved up to lil town surburbia BUT Drifters didn't fail me! Great place!
Review Source:My Flagship bar. Not only is it close to my house, but cabs seem to be in that particular area so you don't have to ever really wait longer than 15-20 minutes.
The owners, take good care of me, treat me like family and alot of the people who frequent there are like family to me as well. Theres always something going almost everyday of the week. Karaoke on wednesdays bands thursdays and fridays and dj's on saturdays.
But apart from the entertainment the drifters has a relaxing atmosphere, cozy chairs and booths, and it's not too dark.
Everynow and then there'll activities like an annual shoot, or a potluck, which ALOT of people bring food, and of course they serve the best breakfasts on saturdays and sundays for only 5-7 bucks and for 7 bucks you get a plateful of the WORKS....i mean everything.
I love this place. If you have free time stop in, I dont think you'll be disappointed.
The drifters is one nice place, If you want to relax have a cocktail talk to good friends and feel like your part of cheers come check it out. Â All the bartenders are friendly and make excellent cocktails. Â This bar is locally owned and the owner is a really nice guy.
Come on over and i'll see you there maybe....
Love The Drifters. Â Just, love it. Â There is no shortage of dive bars in Santa Clarita. Â There is no shortage of creepy dive bars, either. Â Drifters is a sweet dive, but the creepy young crowd of, say, Mabel's is pretty absent. Â Not to say a girl on her own wouldn't get moved in on, but it's mostly endearing. Â Bobby, the bartender, the bartender, is personable and sings a mean CCR on Karaoke Night. Â
I like the chocolate cake [or whatever] shot. Â It's expensive [the shot], so just split a pitcher with your friend. Â Also, the air freshener might get you right in the face with it's cosmic spray while you're trying to wash your hands. Â
I've been going here forever. Â Now, more so, on the occasional Breakaway-From-Bier-Academy to get me harrrddd liquor on. Â Adore.
Oh, The Drifter...what to say? It's in a tucked back location (by a sushi bar that looks pretty good, but I've yet to try). We went there for karaoke on Wednesday. They have a cute little stage, and a dance floor nearby. The sound was not bad, but I always think it could be turned up some ;)
Be aware that karaoke doesn't go until 2am here. They start at 8pm and cut off at midnight sharp even if there are a gang of singers sitting around, which doesn't make sense to me because once karaoke hard cores get going they will stay to closing most nights. Cie la vie. What didn't work for me is on the nights there is karaoke they bump up their drinks $1 and pitchers $3, and call it an "entertainment charge". Say what?! What if I'm singing and I'm the entertainment? I doubt Jerry Seinfeld gets charged for the snacks in the green room when he does his show.
Not super cool. What was nice was the "Drifter Pale Ale" on tap, and the bartender, Bob, is a friendly guy. The atmosphere is chilled and doesn't feel dangerous, or filled with fools like some places. Shortcomings aside, I like this place because it's unpretentious, and it is what it is, as Popeye would say. Drift in if you're in the Santa Clarita area.

Update: 9/11/2011
Hey Dennis! I saw your comment to my post, and it's so cool your monitoring Yelp and seeing what your customers are really saying
and really wanting, and then responding. Awesome. Glad to hear
about the new changes, and my girl and I will stop in some time and
grab that drink and do some singing. Yelpers, this is proof owners and
managers are listening to our reviews and ready to make changes.
Viva le Yelp!
Decided to explore the places near my BF's place. This place is a total DIVE and I like it. The drinks are stiff, there's a jukebox, a dance floor and a dart board and it's clean (although there is an old-timey smell that my boyfriend kept on talking about) and they serve food if you really are hungry.
I'm not sure if there was a pool table there or not. WIll be back for Thirsty Thursday!
I haven't been since the name changed, but I kinda like this place. Â I've been when i t was bust and been when it was slow, and I enjoyed both. Â The bartenders are always cool, and the crowd tends to be mellow. Â It is in every way a dive bar, but sometimes, that's just what I'm in the mood for. Â As far as nightlife goes in Santa Clarita, it doesn't get much better than this.
Review Source:If you're looking for a dive bar in Santa Clarita, and you don't want to run into all of your high school graduating class, or you don't want to worry about random tough guys picking fights with you, Drifters (Used to be Club Ted) is your place.
One day I randomly came here as a joke with some friends, because the old Club Ted was the joke puchline, and we figured why not? The place actually wasn't too bad. We had a few beers that were reasonably priced, played a few games of darts, and left.
Since then I've gone back about 3 times, and have had a good experience every time. They have new owners (hence the name change), and I think they have 1 bartender that works there 24-7, but he's a nice guy, and has even bought me drinks a couple of times.
If you're looking for a dive bar, and you go in knowing its a dive bar, it can be a really good time. The crowd is always "interesting" (its deep in Canyon Country), as one time I had a 40 year old woman insist on taking a picture with me because she swore I looked exactly like Michael Phelps, one time there was a couple swing-dancing on the dance floor, and one time there was a one-man-band rocking out on the small stage.
Always an adventure, and a cool dive bar.... Doesn't hurt that its 1 mile from my house either...
