I come to the drink alot after work because i work downtown. But today i had problems with the bartender name Amber she was rude and used a tone with  me that you shouldn't use with an customer. I love coming here but this experience was something that made a bad day from work worst... DO NOT DEAL WITH AMBER SHE CAN BE AN BITCH IF SHE MESS UP ON YOUR ORDER IF YOU CORRECT HER..
Review Source:I've always liked Drink when I can find it, but when I start drinking I get so lost downtown that I can't ever find it. Well, for NYE the DTLBF and I had dinner at Zinc and as I was on their back patio I found Drink (Sober)!
After dinner we mosied on in for some drinks. The bartender was great. The music was great. The Spurs game was on. And the drinks? Uh, could I get some coke with that RUM? Talk about making them strong drinks! I could breathe fire! Obviously, it didn't take long before my boyfriend and I were chatting up a storm with all the other patrons.
Drink here often.
This place is laid back and perfect for a quiet drink with a friend or two. The staff is always friendly and ready to refill your drink before you even have a chance to ask for another! The bar is usually full of service industry peeps from the area and that's another reason to love it - it's downtown but not touristy. Drink is a nice little hidden gem in the heart of downtown. If you want to enjoy a nice intimate drink with friends, this is the spot!
Review Source:I've recently discovered Drink as a wonderful place to start or end a night of drinking. I hesitate to share this secret with all you guys, because the service is so quick and there's hardly ever a line at the bar, but I'm with Anthony M, I'd be okay if Drink was packed every now and then.
They'll mix you anything your booze-loving heart desires and they'll do it swiftly. Last time I was there, I had a fruity mixed drink that was extremely strong, in a good way. Also, a few friends of mine swear by "The Grateful Dead" a grape-y drink of sorts.
What I love about Drink is it's location presents the option for walkability among a number of downtown spots. The last time I visited Drink, we also stopped at Zocca, Contessa, On The Halfshell and Zinc (no driving necessary).
Park one time (for free on a Tuesday night!) and enjoy a handful of local hot spots, and Drink should be at the top of your list.
It doesn't get any better than this joint. Not only are the drinks cheap but they are also delicious. The mixologists only use fresh juices when making drinks and are always coming  up with cool new drinks everyday.  Its by far one of my favorite places downtown. Only frequented by true San Antonio locals. Â
Happy Hour is 2-9pm so you can't miss the amazing drinks.
Really, how can you not love a place that has such a long happy hour and considers you a regular (even if you are a tourist) after two nights stopping in? The bar manager Tommy is cool, as were all the staff we dealt with. It's a nice place to hang out, but kind of hard to spot physically. We had a serendipity with this place; just happened to find it wandering around San Antonio. Come and don't act like a tool, and you'll have a good time for sure.
Review Source:Stopped in here for Saturday afternoon drinks. Â $2.50 happy hour from 2p-9pm every day. Â Not including us there were 6 people in the entire place, including the bartender and barback. Â Not sure what that's all about. Â Good drink specials. Â Good service. Â Big tvs behind the bar. Â Nice decor. Â What's up, San Antonio?
Review Source:I haphazardly walked in here early Saturday afternoon with a few friends since we had a few hours until our feature presentation of the day was scheduled to begin. We couldn't really make out what type of bar Drink was from the outside because of its fancy tinted windows, and to be honest, I immediately started having second thoughts as I entered the bar since it was a lot more upscale than what I'd been used to seeing in San Antonio, but this all changed as soon as we sat down at the bar and let Tommi (sorry if I spelt your name wrong!) take care of our ethanolic desires for the afternoon.
First off, Drink is the first bar I've seen in San Antonio that actually carries Hendrick's. Granted, I haven't ventured far and wide to look for Hendrick's (which if I were back home in the Bay Area I wouldn't have to) specifically, but to me it was like one of those creature comforts that reassured me that I was drinking at the right place. Another one of those creature comforts was displayed in the form of an empty bottle of Johnnie Blue still in its padded wooden casing, which I gave serious thought about ordering since I had just gotten paid yesterday, but before that thought had any chance to materialize into action, my friend out of the blue proposed that we take shots, so we ended up shooting liquid cocaines at three in the afternoon instead. Good times.
Drink also carried the usual local favorites on tap; it took me about two pints of Shiner 102 for me to get over the novelty of seeing it on tap and decide that I didn't like it, but they did have it here -- their "before 9pm happy hour" specials would have ensured that my friend would drink here until 9pm, had it not been for the fact that we had already bought tickets for a 5.30pm movie.
In the end, my experience at Drink left me drunk enough to wander into the concession stand at the Rivercenter AMC and take a ten dollar bet that I couldn't drink from the liquid butter dispenser (the one that they have for the popcorn) for 15 seconds, which eventually led to me passing out and missing the first 45 minutes of the movie due to a butter/alcohol-induced coma and walking out of the cineplex #6 with what now feels like a clogged artery on my right leg.
If all goes well, my next yelp review should hopefully be of a hospital. Or an amputation clinic. Or maybe the local triple-bypass surgeon.
After a less-than-ideal experience here in March, the owner of Drink sent me a message via Yelp, saying that they had reworked the concept of the bar and had changed a number of things around. I decided to give Drink a second chance, and I'm glad I did. I had a wonderful time!
The bartender in particular was excellent. She was friendly, knew her booze, and made some great conversation. She mixed me some awesome drinks, and I enjoyed myself so much that I plan on making a second stop at Drink before I go back to Austin.
The few criticisms I have are pretty superficial. The top-40 pop music they play is a little grating, and the ESPN on TV doesn't quite mesh with the rest of the aesthetic. But these things are pretty minor in the long run. What matters is great drinks and a great staff, both of which Drink has been able to achieve since I first visited.
I love the atmosphere here, but I am only a beer drinker so I can't comment on the mixed drinks or the wine selection.
I do enjoy the atmosphere, and as someone else stated, they don't seem to have a dress code - but I see this as a PLUS! The leather couches and the decor present a pretty swank environment, but don't let this fool you. Â My crew and I have gone in there in shorts and t-shirts in the summer time and we fit right in.
Prices are ok for the touristy location that it is in, but they still manage to keep it real. Â
I would recommend this place to locals as well as out of towners.
A pretty posh place considering it's a bar lounge.
My kind of place! Â Looks very classy, with the nice contemporary furniture and all. Â But doesn't seem to have a dress code. Â It is in fact in Downtown SA, so it must cater to the tourists around. Â Not to sound like a snob, but they pretty much let anyone in that wants their business. Â
BTW, the waitress had a couple of tricks up her sleeves. Â She had introduced me to a new drink. Â Me, being an alky an all. Â It was a VEGAS BOMB. Â So it you wanna try a new drink...that one's pretty delish!!!
Just tried out Drink, and we'll be going back. Â An upscale, modern, low-key lounge/bar. Â Really nice set-up with good mix of bar space and three or four separate lounge/seating areas with leather couches and small tables. Â There's actually also an outdoor side lounge area with a nice water fountain, but it wasn't set up for seating last night (I'm guessing due to the weather). Â There are 3 or 4 HDTVs and actually a couple of projectors on the wall as well. Â Great place to watch a game if you're looking for a more upscale environment than a sports bar.
Prices were average and bartenders were great. Â Crowd was good mix all over the spectrum from 20s-40s. Â It was fairly empty until from 9-10 and then picked up considerably as the night got going. Â Music was great level for lounge.
All in all, a great example of a lounge done right.
Wow. Â A wine bar? Â Um...no. Â There were no descriptions of the wine and very few that you could even buy by the glass!!! Â They did however have a great mixed drink selection. Â The ambiance was amazing. Â Black leather couches, ikea lighting fixtures, local art.
I would describe it more as a chill drink bar, but definitely not a wine bar. Â No food either. Â So, don't go hungry. Â Oh, and you have to pay to park.
Best part: the ambiance
Worst part: the wine list, cigar smoke & loud techno
we were staying at the Westin Riverwalk, just across the street, and just wanted a casual and laid back place for a drink, outside of the hotel and not on the riverwalk. for being busy on a friday evening the guys behind the bar were attentive, friendly and made you feel welcome without feeling rushed.
great selection of beer, full bar and wine. comfortable at both the bar or at a couch. great place to catch a drink with friends or a date.
For once I decided not to follow any yelp reviews and took my chances into unchartered territory. Â I wasn't really in the mood to do the touristy thing near the riverwalk and not knowing what to find on a cold Sunday night, I was pleased to stumble across Drink - a warm, low-key spot where I could get my drink on. Â It's a small place, but the walls are decorated with paintings from local artists while some eclectic/indie music plays in the background. Â They also set up a projector showing ESPN on the wall which was showing a football game.
I chatted up with the bartenders, Roger and Olive, and some of the locals that frequent the bar. Â The drink prices are average and although they didn't have much of a wine list, I was informed that it changes frequently based on supply and demand. Â The place was kind of empty at around 9:30pm but it soon filled up quickly when it got closer to 11:00pm. Â The age range seems to hover around 25. Â The locals said that this place gets pretty packed on Friday and Saturdays nights, but for what it's worth I kind of liked the chill atmosphere on Sunday.
