I was very concerned when I read the reviews for this place and was not sure what to expect.
They must have made changes, because the service was great from the
Moment I walked in with my friends and my wife. The hostess sat us quickly and with a great attitude.
Molly was our server and she did an outstanding job, truly top notch. She was constantly by our table and was on top of everything that we asked for or needed. The tapas / appetizers we're very good and the only reason I give this place a 4 ( other wise this would have been a 5 star review ).
The humus is off the hook as well as the flat bread.
The lamb chop was vey good.
The mussels and calamari were ok, this could be better.
The wine selection is good and also serve a variety of other dishes. The ambiance is very good and the live music tonight was cool.
I will definitely be back again and will look for Molly and ask for her next time.
If you wanted to be treated with disrespect then this is the place to go! three words to describe the staff is snobby, stuck up, and rude. This place says they are the "best kept secret" well they can remain a secret because no one should go to them. Â If you want a great place in Katy to have a nice glass of wine and good customer service I would recommend Red Oak Grill not these actors at Drix!
Review Source:Gross! Spinach and artichoke dip. = too much frozen spinach and cheap cheese + under cooked flat bread. Meatball sandwich = frozen prepacked meatballs and no sauce. Fries were tasteless and pickle was shriveled. Flat bread pizza = disgusting cheap turkey. Asked the check to be split....apparently $35.37 / 2 = $20.57 each??????
Review Source:Ok... let me first say I have never eaten a meal here before, only tapas and appeptizers while drinking wine.
And I did find it amusing that they were originally Brix because that wine bar over on 249 and Louetta in the Vintage Park is really nice. Love, love, love the owners. They are the most hospitable people and so thoughtful.
But, back to Drix! I like this place for a nice glass of wine and some munchies. I have come here several times. Sat outside and inside. The ambience inside is nice... dim lighting, rich woods.
They have a decent wine list byt the glass and a nice wine list by the bottle.
I think everyone has to remember, its a wine bar in the middle of a shopping center in the suburbs... can't judge to hard!
Not a bad place to chill. Decor is intimate and classy. They had a live DJ on Saturday night but the place was completely empty. They do have a small selection. I've seen restaurants with a more extensive wine list than here, but still I'm very happy I found the Oyster Bay Merlot from New Zealand. It's a cheap bottle but I definitely enjoyed it a lot. Thanks Drix!
Review Source:First time to eat here last night. My husband and I just had the hummus and truffle fries plus a bottle of wine. Hummus was pretty good, truffle fries missed the mark in my opinion. Tasted like plain old french fries. Wine...well I have to agree with other reviews that they also missed the mark. I fully expected a more extensive wine list for a place that calls themselves a wine bar. I'm not a wine snob by any means but I would think there would be a bigger/better list of wines. Most I could buy in the grocery store or go to Specs for a better selection. I would go back if friends wanted to meet there but wouldn't be my first choice.
