First off, let's get one thing out of the way. Â This is basically a bigger and more modern Chuck E Cheese with a little bone thrown for teenagers and a bar thrown in so the parents don't go crazy. Â If you're an adult going on a date or looking for a serious place to bowl in, stop it. Â You will hate it.
I was there for a 7 year old's birthday party and the first thing I noticed was that the place was in pure chaos. Â There is an office on the side where I guess a person resembling a manager might sit at but there is absolutely no control. Â You have kids running around with bowling balls or otherwise running into adults, you have people sitting and waiting, and the entire place is run by High Schoolers who look either spooked, indifferent, or lost. Â
In our case, we were promptly told that the person who was supposed to be in charge of our group had basically had a nervous breakdown and quit (they used other words but that was the gist of it) Â The new person was actually trying to be helpful and doing her best, but the people above her were not passing down any info to her regarding our table, etc. Â
The bowling itself was not bad...it was only for kids as part of a birthday package of some sort, but the stuff is new and high-tech where bumpers just pop up and go down according to whose turn it is (ie. for little kids bumpers come up). Â
Then came the waiting...after a half hour, we were informed that we did indeed have two tables reserved and then there was more waiting. Â A manager was brought in, gave extra game cards, and pizza arrived 10 minutes later. Â I will have to give them credit that the pizza was damn good. Â Like Star Pizza quality good...better than Pizza Hut and nothing like Chuck E Cheese or other places. Â That was their saving grace and why they get an extra star.
So if you accept these people for who they are - Ultra Suburban place for kids and teenagers with an attempt at making adults not go crazy, it might work for you.  I think their heart is in the right place, but the execution is just terrible.  Maybe they need to hire more  staff, train the staff better, or get better managers.  I don't know.  Perhaps they are overwhelmed.  In time, they'll be alright.
I been here about 10 times now, usually on a Friday morning or Wednesday night. Â I go for the bowling and the bowling only and the only reason I have been going here is for the all you can bowl $10 wristband deal, which gets you more then bowling but I am just not interested in the other items. Â From a bowling point of view the lanes are nice the equipment is nice (I have my own ball but their stuff isn't beat up yet). Â The lanes only get conditioned/oiled at midnight which is not good if you take your bowling seriously. Â Understanding this place is for the average person to bowl on I can live with the lane conditioning situation. Â Less oil means more average Joe's can bowl there and actually hit pins. Â The lights are very distracting. Â Black lights and colored lights on the lanes and pins that change colors even during the day. Â IMO a bowler should be bowling with the regular lights on.
Here are the things I can not live with. Â The front counter staff like others have said are inexperienced, SLOW, none helpful and mostly young. Â In all the times I have been there bowling for 2-3 hours and being maybe 1 or 6 lanes in use I have had the waitress come up to me maybe one or two times. Â All the other times I was passed over clearly seeing them serving other lanes. Â I will also add that I have bowled in there for hours at a time and had the lane next to me sitting with dirty dishes. Â Considering all the staff standing around I find this unacceptable. Â I have heard the leagues are having trouble getting started.
The last thing I have seen a few times is the bowlers approach to the line is often dirty. Â Seeing as I have arrived at opening time (so I can use any of the conditioning from the 12pm oil laying, if it hasn't already evaporation) I would expect that all this area would had been swept and mopped. Â Instead I find pizza sauce and other types of food all over the place. Â This stuff sticks to your shoes and messes up your game. Â No excuse for dirty areas at opening time IMO.
All that said if you want to take your family there you will have a good time. Â The pizza is actually really good.
My advice to the staff/company - Reserve some lanes for bowlers who have their own gear. Â Oil these lanes 2-3 times a day, turn the lights on for them, keep the area clean, train your staff to be helpful and quick.
