Dugout

The quintessential corner bar. No windows, no neon signs to be seen from outside so if you don't know it's there, you wouldn't even know it existed. Not great beer selection but outstanding pizza and wings. Eat the pizza in house, however, as it's not quite the same when you get it to go. For my money Jeff Dugout is probably the best bartender in the city. No matter how busy they are he makes sure everyone is taken care of. Plus, your first drink is always free if he knows you.

There used to be a Dugout Bar in the plot section of Green Ridge about 40 years ago. It was really "dug out" It was a basement bar at the corner of Sanderson Ave and Race Street across from the Boston Cleaners.

The Dugout.....Well if you don't know where it is, you may not find it. It looks like a house. but plenty of people do find there way here, me and my girl included. Great little place. Lots of Scranton firefighting memorabilia on the walls. Jeff behind the bar is a nice guy. it is kind of small, but i do seem to like them small. They are pretty cheap for beer and mixers. and their sausage pizza is awesome! you can get pizza anytime of the night, i know, i get it a lot.
a few things you need to know: when you walk in, close the door behind you, especially in the winter, people get mad. the mens room door is heavy and it sticks, push it hard, it is not locked. and do not say anything bad about South Side while you are in there, Morgan will get really mad.
