Amazing breakfast food! Â My family and I were there yesterday (for the first time and based on the Yelp reviews). We enjoyed a perfectly cooked omelette (cheddar, tomato and delicious sauteed onion), crispy home fries, amazing home made biscuits and gravy--and the absolute best fresh blueberry pancakes I've ever tasted! Â My kids are pancake connoisseurs--they ate these plain (no syrup or butter)--I think that's a first! Â They were light and fluffy and the fresh juicy blueberries were amazing. All of this with drinks and sides of bacon for just about $30. One of the best deals I've encountered.
Also--service was friendly and efficient. Food came out to all four of us simultaneously and piping hot.
We'll be back!
All of the fine, funky, and unique dining establishments throughout the five boroughs of New York City can never amount to the awesomeness of a filling and satisfying meal from the Dutch Treat.
Guy Fieri would have a field day here.
I've been coming here since way back when; all throughout high school and college, when visiting an aunt in Hillsdale, this would always be THE lunch location. It is located on a long, unassuming stretch of Route 23, essentially in the middle of nowhere. Small tables, a long counter, white walls adorned with a giant blue windmill to the left, and friendly home-down service make this an excellent spot for a cheap and filling lunch. What is a better indulgence than buttery toasted slices of white bread with American cheese bubbling within, coupled with French fries that are perfectly golden and crisp on the outside, while still being slightly creamy on the inside?
As for breakfasts, I've regularly paid more for less on typical Sunday mornings in Manhattan. Their best deal is their banana pancakes: $4.00 gets you three HUGE perfectly cooked banana-laden pancakes that are so good, food coma is induced 1/4 of the way through, whether you like it or not. FACT: These pancakes would cost you twice as much in the city, perhaps even more.
Also, their apple crisp and banana cream pie...well, they are in a category all by themselves. Nothing compares to them. NOTHING, I SAY!
Typing this up is making me sad, as Craryville is just too far away right now. All I can do is sit here and dream, fantasize, and be careful not to drool (too much) on myself, hoping I can make it back up there soon...
Where oh where do i begin with the dutch treat, pride of Craryville.
Is it the service? is it the fact that their breakfast just hits the spot? Or have the people  behind the dutch treat figured out what my ideal breakfast is without telling me?
Every time I enter the dutch treat (which is quite often I might add) I am greeted by friendly faces of both the excellent staff and the locals who frequent this establishment for good reason. Friendly waitresses are highly underrated in this age of electronic everything where people spend more time interacting with their world of warcraft friends than their actual ones. Its not just the speedy service, but also the friendly conversation that always comes with the meal that makes the dutch treat my favorite place to go.
I am very happy to hear that they are now going to be open for dinner and am looking forward to sampling their offerings myself.
If you're in the area, and need a solid breakfast/lunch and now even dinner spot, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!
We've paid for every meal  we've eaten at the Dutch Treat, and a bargain they are!  Dutch Treat serves THE BEST macaroni salad in the whole world, and I've done surveys! The fruit pies and cream pies are all from scratch and real ingredients.  They even LOOK home made, not like those beautiful but plastic tasting pies  and cakes at other diners which never fail to disappoint.  The Dutch Treat's soup's made fresh, the burgers are juicy.  When I eat at the Dutch Treat, I never announce myself.  As soon as my order goes into the kitchen, the owner comes flying out with a big grin saying, "I KNEW it was you from the order!"  Guess not too many people can manage a bacon cheeseburger and TWO sides of macaroni salad, but then I don't eat the whole day before visiting the Dutch Treat, the food is that good!
