Another thumbs up for Billy.
He is a nice guy behind the bar who will chat with you about your day and what else there is to do in Tahoe.
The view of the mountains are awesome and it is my type of place to drink at. It is also conveniently located in 'the loop' so you don't have to drive down the mountain for a quick drink.
Billy is simply the best.
We've been coming here for nine years, and Billy has consistently given superb value and service the entire time. Â
We enjoy catching up each year, learning what the new local restaurants are, and what businesses have changed - for better or worse.
Whether we've skied or just hung out all day, we look forward to  starting our evening here.
The Eagle's Nest is definitely worth the trip around the loop. Â It's in a timeshare that used to be a boutique hotel so it is not as big (or ugly) as most timeshares. Â The views are great, there's usually a game on the lone TV or some eclectic music playing, and there's a lounge area with a fireplace and a 12 or so seat bar. Â The crowd is a mixture of people staying at the timeshare, tourists sent there for a drink by their hotel (or another bar), and locals. Â The locals run the gamut from bartenders at other bars grabbing a pre-shift drink (it's Tahoe), business folk, and the occasional ne'er-do-well.
Summer and winter drink specials, including Mojito's with mint grown by the proprietor. Â Watch out for the Blue Monkeys!
Amazing views, welcoming staff, and great drinks. I love this place!!! If you're staying in Zephyr Cove or Stateline, or anywhere near the Heavenly Stagecoach or Boulder lift, this is the place to go. Actually, if you're staying in the area, you don't have much to chose from as far as bars go, but even if there were 100 bars, this one would top my list. It's the perfect place for an after ski drink. They also rent the place out for weddings cause its so pretty :)
So a couple of things to note: it's inside of a timeshare hotel, so you just go through the main doors and it's to the left. Â Also, it's on the one-way street loop at the end of the neighborhood there, so if you're going there for a drink after skiing and you're parked at Stagecoach, you have to drive back around the one-way street to get to it.
