My first time here was ok, the brisket was good. I didn't like the green beans. I was expecting fresh green Beans, but no. It was green beans soaked in BBQ sauce or something.
The service was not that friendly. I felt as though we were bugging them. They have little cups to put sauce in, and there was none out. When we asked if they had the cups he looked at us and sighed, gave us 1. There were 2 of us and asked for another one. He said you only need 1, but then gave us another.
I liked the sandwich so I will give it another try. Maybe they all were tired or had a bad day.

This is as good as it gets. Earls is super clean, great Chipotle barbeque, great green beans, great coleslaw, all at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back - next time with our family and grand kids.

I've lived and loved BBQ in Arkansas and Tennessee. This isn't like any BBQ I've ever had.   Guess its "okie" BBQ.  The pulled pork is the only thing we found that we liked.
The Okie beans tasted like bacon grease with pepper.  You have to have great beans or your BBQ won't go.  These beans are no good.
The restaurant is nice and clean and new.  Love to know more about all the rodeo stuff.
Would really like for this place to make it work ... I'd be there a couple times a week if it was good.

Awesome Food, people, & atmosphere !! everyone who works there is very nice, fun, polite, and down to earth. I loved that alot of the people there seemed to know the employees and owner ... it just added to the family feel of the place.

Ok - big fat portions - plain meat sandwiches. Mashed potatoes tasted old or instant. We ate later in the afternoon- earls had ran  out of several meat Choices. . The sandwiches could use more condiments and pizazz. ( boring/plain ) just huge slabs of meat on a dry white bread roll ( more bread options needed like Subway or other delis).   Also disappointed in the green salad that was wilted white old lettuce out of a bag.  The other folks in our party of 6 said the salads (macaroni & potatoe& coleslaw  were  out of a container: the dominant flavor of chemical  processed to ensure a long shelf life .  Caveman sandwiches - meat-white bread...We Ordered carrot cake - eerkickkkk...once again: had a dry freezer burned  texture & stale-icky . We Hope this place makes it- invest in some   improvements to spice up menu.. Add some music for ambiance and fresh greenery - plants  to cozy up the atmosphere .  Petk up yoir salds with sn array of fresh produce & veggies.  & serve fresh deserts & some home made  cookies.( You can freeze the dough) Easy fixes to put Earls on the map  - and word of big mouths is your most powerful advertisement -take heed to all the criticisms; our intent is  constructive ; to help your restaurant succeed In a highly competitive market .
Earls dies have a hospitable staff aiming to please.

They need to improve on all their sides.  The beans and slaw are really bad.  I have gone quite a few times, bringing different friends, and we all agree, the sides are bad.  Maybe a new recipe would help.

Awesome place - great value for the dollar!  Huge portions - couldn't eat whole sandwich by myself. Friendly worker eager to please - love this place!

I've been back to Earls several times in the last few months. I'm not sure why? It does not get any better...(in my opinion)

The brisket is not sliced or chopped but pulled in long strings like string cheese. It's tender but after they smoke it (I'm assuming they smoke it because they have a smoker out back but?) they hold it in some kind of au jus to keep it moist. It removes any smoke flavor it had and it takes on the flavor of the au jus! : )

Sorry, I'm afraid to try the ribs again...

The mashed potatoes I had were strangely lumpy and coagulated! These have been better in the past.

On a positive note, the portions are still huge and the place is always spic and span!

The day we visited, they delivered slices of complimentary pumpkin/carrot pie to our table. Neither of us liked it, but it was a nice gesture!

This is a clean and well run small restaurant with cafeteria style food. Enjoy...

Earls is a nice place for a sandwich and some old fashion hospitality. We had a large party for my sons birthday and they gave him a free dinner. My aunt from Washington was visiting and she loved the   Beef sandwich. Also the cole slaw was a hit with many who ate it. They even gave us some pieces of cake on the house! Warning portions are very large so plan for leftovers or do what we did and split plates.

I have totally positive feelings about this place, but I also take everything with a grain of salt in life. Their meat is wonderful, especially the brisket, but the sides are not worth getting. It is also a good idea to bring your own BBQ sauce because theirs is lacking. The portions are huge, the food is fresh, there is a great atmosphere and I would recommend getting a sandwich and some carrot cake (amazing carrot cake) and calling it a day here. I really want to give it a 3.5, but since I am a huge supporter of local business over chains I rounded up as a hat tip to a great addition to this cute little street.

Well I live right down the street from this place, and as a man who loves meat, was excited to see this place open. Me and my wife went there today and both got pulled brisket sandwiches with chipotle BBQ sauce. Amazing sandwiches and the bread was dipped in au jus. I'm happy to have a quality place near me and everyone should try this out.

I really wanted to like this place, but the food wasn't good at all. Was it made in a crock pot? Maybe not, but I've had better pulled pork made in a crock pot. The Texas brisket was no better really. Way too expensive for cafeteria style service. The portions were good. Decor was cool. Food not good. I really wanted to cure the BBQ craving I had, but this place definitely disappointed.

I'm back - again! This restaurant continues to impress. The food is excellent quality! Great food and very large portions - we always take home a ton of leftovers! Service is quick and easy, they fixed the choke point at the carving station. Things move fairly smooth.

I do agree beer and wine might be nice - soda is kinda boring.

    Definitely worth a visit!

This place could be SO MUCH BETTER!

    The positives:
    Great building.
    Large portions.
    Food is tasty enough.
The only real restaurant in this small town.

    The negatives:
    Closes at 7:30 PM!
    Closed on Sundays.
    Counter service, no table service.
They run out of food choices, so too bad.
    Beverage choices are boring.
They DON'T serve beer or wine!
"Like it or Leave it" attitude.

This local will leave it. Too bad.

The food is awesome.  We had the pulled pork and texas brisket (beef) sandwiches with mashed potato sides.  The beans are excellent and the sauce you can add yourself was very tasty.  The portions are giant.  I would recommend this to anyone who loves truly good BBQ.  Great staff and nice environment.  Definitely going back!

Great food, amazing portions, good people!  Eat local, buy local, & live local!    I haven't tried it all, however the brisket and the pulled pork were amazing!  Although I am not a sauce BBQ guy I must say that the chipotle sauce is amazing!

I love a good pulled pork sandwich but this sure wasn't it :-( I wanted to love it because I want the business to be successful, but I do believe they need some better recipes. The potato salad has to be one of the worst I've ever had too. So sorry to say that but it's true. The sandwich was a little on the dry side as well and not much flavor.

Earls is awesome. Come on people of Denair and Turlock and support this place so they will make it and stay open. If you liked that nasty Red Steer or whatever it was that isn't even open in Modesto anymore you will love Earls.

I do NOT agree with Lon M, maybe he was at the wrong place because the food is fresh and cooked to perfection. Meat is very tender and the flavor is amazing. The decor inside is clean, bright and well kept. Easy to find with lots of parking and seating inside. Great atmosphere, great food and great sevice at a great price. They offer catering too, nothing like it in the Central Valley.

Disclaimer - I competitive bbq on the KCBS and CBBQA circuit.

That being said, when my buddy told me about a new bbq joint that opened up in my backyard, I figured I would give them a taste. My wife and I drove up and I saw they had a FEC to work with, bonus points in my book, and headed on in. We got to the counter and looked over the menu and I spoke with whom I believe to be the proprietor. My wife doesn't like her food to be overwhelmed with smoke flavor, subtle is what she likes, and we were given a sample of the pulled pork. It was on the dry side and was bland. We both opted for the brisket, she got the dinner plate and I went straight for the sandwich. Nice flavor on the brisket, but dry as all get out. Whether it be any high school football game selling their tri tip sandwich, or pretty much any bbq joint in the central valley, it seems everyones motto is cook the stuff to shoe leather. Back to the meal, my wife had the okie beans as well but she had 2 bites and said it was overloaded with pepper. We asked for some cheese, they had none, so the au jus that tasted somewhat like coffee was dumped in. In the end, I finished my sandwich only because I didn't want to waste my 8 bucks, yet my wife left 2/3rds of her brisket and most of the chili there and we headed back home.

I want to make it clear that this is just my opinion, and I think the owners have potential with their restaurant. With such a awesome piece of hardware in their cooker, with the right pitmaster, this place could be a goldmine.
