1,2,3 give me the microphone first so I can bust like a bubble..here it goes:
The decor isn't exactly "lounge" type..it is more akin to a neon-crazy dive bar a la Mexicana. The illumination of neon lights, the  booming system blasting Lil Wayne or Banda El Recodo (the choice is yours), a couple of flat screens, and a small dance floor set the stage for a multi-sensory experience. You got 3 dollars-- play your mix. Juanes? Sure. Mana? You're covered. Reggeaton? Fa sho.
It's a place with homedudes who rock the sombreros from the nearby Jims Western Wear to the ambassadors of the local "underground" LGBT scene all dwell. At this place, it all comes full and center. A joint that meshes Sexy girls night (Thursdays), March Madness days, and Rainbow Nights (e.g. LGBT) on Wednesdays. The Wednesdays definitely make a bold statement for this neighborhood--there's an open invitation for EVERYBODY. That's what make this hidden spot very unique. Other neighborhoods crave for this eclectic quality and some even try to manufacture it, but here it is the real deal Holifield. There's nobody here trying to out "hip" each other. You want fancy velvet covered walls, drive your butt to Hollywood and get extorted for 20 dollar parking fees.
You want a great selection of Tequila? Come here. Seriously, I haven't seen the selection they have on stock here anywhere else (in a bar setting) in the SFV but maybe El Bar (Studio City), and maybe Vallarta Markets. They got a selection of Vodka and other Gin/Rums etc as well. As a beer drinker myself, they got me covered too... Stella, Guiness, Modelo Special (Can/Bottle), Bohemia etc.  The owner is a cool cat, at around 10pm he"ll start handing out plates of Spicy Pollo, sliced cucumber (Pepino) with limón and chile for free.99. Hows that for a Gastropub?
A welcomed change is brewing in this neighborhood, I can sense it. The place has plenty of upside. The quaint little downtown lends itself for walking over from the surrounding areas for a couple drinks, or breaking out for a cab ride home, which ain't that bad if you live nearby. Shoot, you can even start your LA wide bar hop here via Metro (Rapid to NoHo Redline). The spot is  hop and skip from various public transit lines. Some of the local cats actually start their bar crawls here via public transit, go green "G."
My Michoacano friend brought me to this place today and I was pleasantly surprised! Â Another Mexican ladies bar! Â I'm kinda confused about the goings on here but what the hell, the beers are cold, the senoritas are hot, and the club is actually really nice looking. Â I'm looking forward to a visit on the weekend! Â
P.S. Â
This place is really classy. Â They have teas and coffee for the ladies! Â As well as an assortment of appetizers.
