El Nopal

I have become used to bad Mexican in the area so I don't know why I thought this would be different, let's see starting from the fact they don't have Jarritos to the bland watery crap salsa things get even worse. Bland beans and rice the worst steak I've had in a Mexican place, overcooked corn tortillas and they seemingly have no hot sauce. Very bad go to Tres Reales instead or drive to Chicago or the suburbs.

Excellent food and cozy, enjoyable atmosphere.  Our family of four had lunch and watched soccer on their big screen TV.  The salsa and freshly-made guacamole were fantastic.  My wife and I had the fajita quesadillas (shrimp and chicken), which were very good - as were the soft shell tacos.  Also recommend the tamarind fruit and horchata drinks (both sweet).

I meandered into this new restaurant with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. The menu selection was great as they have many dishes that I haven't seen elsewhere in the Peoria area.

I had the Chilaquiles, which was pretty good. There were too many onions for my liking, but overall decent. The eggs were on the side, which was different from what I'm used to.

The price on this lunch dish was rather expensive. For $8 I thought the price and value didn't equate, but then again I'm just a broke twenty-something.

If I were you I'd come to this place and find out for yourself. It's worth a try for sure!
