Num-Num-Num!!! Found this little gem on a weekend ride and will definitely be back. Had their Mexican omelet and it was ever so tasty. Hubby had the breakfast burrito and said it was very tasty.
Good size portions as well.
Have yet to find anything good in Killeen, so we'll hit this place up when we need a Mexican fix.
I have eaten at "El Rodeo" a few times and it is pretty good. Â I've been in for breakfast and for lunch. Â
The last time I went I had the "Molcajete" (pronounced Mole-Ka-Heh-tey) and Oh-MAN was it good! Â I looked up molcajete online and apparently that word is actually for the bowl that it is served in, but the food was darn good! Â Imagine a scalding-hot, lava rock looking bowl, that stays hot for up to an hour later, filled with chicken and beef fajita, onions, peppers, tomatoes, and covered in melted cheese (which by the way, STAYS melted because of the intense heat of the bowl). Â Served with tortillas, rice, beans, shredded lettuce, and pico. Â I will DEFINITELY be getting that dish again. Â The Molcajete is kind of expensive, unless you get it on special like I did, but it is well worth the money ($10).
I recommend El Rodeo and I think you will enjoy it too!
I am shocked at how good this food was. Â I have never tasted refried beans or corn tortillas with this much flavor. Â And they had a molocajete that was two meals worth of food, better than the one I had in Mexico, and only cost me $5.65 (it was on special). Â I am usually stuck with Storm's when I am in Lampasas or the Shell station in Lometa (ew!!) due to no other worthwhile options but now I have something to look forward to when I go up that way.
