My husband, son, and I stopped at El Torito for a quick lunch on a recent weekday. We had been anxious to try out their menu since they opened in Franklin. The restaurant is a bright, small, and cozy space; they share building space with a liquor store directly off Interstate 65 in Franklin, Indiana. The salsa was fresh, bright, and flavorful without being too spicy. My husband and I both ordered the #8 lunch combo. The hubs reported that, for his dish, the chicken was moist and not overcooked and that everything tasted fresh, balanced, and satisfying. I ordered the same plate off the lunch menu; however, since I don't eat meat, I asked for substitutions of a bean burrito and a cheese enchilada in place of the chicken and beef options. My son ordered pizza off the children's menu and reported that it was "the best pizza I ever had in my entire life." I would encourage folks in the area looking for a cheap and easy Mexican lunch or dinner to give El Torito a try.
Review Source:The outside is a drab old Indiana shopping center. Â The inside is a fabulous Mexican villa. Â The help is friendly and knowledgeable, the menu is of reasonable size. Â The Margaritas are quite good, the chips and salsa are fine.
My wife had the beaf and been burrito and was quite happy. Â I had the carnitas with guacamole salad. Â The waitress forgot the salad and was apologetic. Â There were a lot of carnitas and they were very tasty, though some of the pieces of pork were fat. Â But even leaving the fat aside, which I did, there was a lot of meat. Â The beans and rice were fine and I enjoyed the salad.
I'd happily go back.
