Elegance Restaurant

We are also new in the area. We have eaten at Elegance several times and have always had good service and the food was  excellent.

I brushed my teeth three times to get the taste out of my mouth.  The restaurant itself was fine.  There were some places on the wall that obviously needed to be repainted, but in all was a fairly welcoming atmosphere.  I ordered one of the many Thursday specials, Pot Roast.  My meal took about 20 minutes to come out (1st Red Flag), even though the restaurant was about a quarter full.  Also, it is pot roast, what needs to be prepared?  The server offered to discount my meal before I could even say anything (2nd Red Flag).  When my meal came out I could immediately tell that neither a pot or roasting process was involved in creating my dish.  I received sliced roast beef covered in an amber corn starch looking attempt at gravy.  I thought about the gel substance you see when you open a can of dog food.  Well...that stuff may have tasted better.  The green beans were so over cooked I wonder if they had any nutritional value left in them.  They were covered with a fat residue which probably meant I was better off health-wise before I ate them.  They ended up discounting my bill 15% (Third Red Flag) and offering me a free dessert on my way out.  I passed and wondered if Elegance should have been paying me as I reluctantly handed over my credit card for payment.

So good it made me want to call and thank my mother.

We just moved to Brownsburg and started trying out the local restaurants.   Apparently this place has been here over 15 years and you can tell by all the local clientele it must be pretty popular, especially with the baby boomers and elderly as they were the predominate visitors on a Friday evening.  We were told the owner is from Greece, and there are a number of Greek entries on the menu.  We did not try them as we found out after we ordered but definitely will do next time.   It is a clean and humble place in a strip mall, with open windows looking out over the parking lot; you can see one of the few remaining K-Marts in the country across the street.   Service was good but the food took a little longer than I would normally wait at a similar restaurant, and the waitress apologized before we said anything.  My wife and I had the lasagna which was good but could have used more marinara sauce, a conclusion I made after I was almost finished and so did not ask for a side of it.  There was a free dessert special and I took advantage with the Oreo cake which it was fabulous and a trip worth back by itself.   Looking forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu.
