Call me a sucker for some chain places, but I like this one. Good food, friendly staff, not expensive, and happy hours are my favorite time to visit. I personally love the booths. Spacious with good privacy for conversations.
I don't really live near an Elephant Bar but if I'm in the Valencia area depending on what my mood is, this place would definitely be a consideration to come and visit.
Had a greast time at the bar with Shaundra. I was out in the area and stopped in for a bite to eat while waiting for my friend. I came in and sat at the bar and was greeted with a large smile from my bartender Shaundra. She was always around when I needed something but was also taking care of the others at the bar and the task she needs to do. It was obvious that she really enjoys her job.
The food was great too. I tried the salmon tempura roll and the Korea beef tacos, both great.
I did get to interact with Russell, the manager, to let him know how great his bartender is but also just wanted to share with all the fellow yelpers. Shaundra I normally there most weekd
We arrived and left. Barely got greeted from a cold, pre occupied with texting female. After her glance, couldn't even get seated for a total of 17 minutes AFTER my son decided to set his iPod timer. We weren't even told a time frame, when she would be back. NOTHING!!! Plenty of tables and plenty of standing around as well as 3 out smoke breaking. Took our money and hunger elsewhere!
Review Source:Food was good. We were a party of 12 and were seated promptly. Split the check three ways with no problems. I had the steak and grilled shrimp, tasted good but the steak had little flavor and that annoying strip of fat right up the middle. My wife had the Thai salmon and was very good and recommends highly. Did not hear any complaints from anyone. I would recommend going there for dinner.
Review Source:Dropped in today for a quick lunch with my kids. . .Greater/Seater was bubbly and personable and even played along with "Hey - did you know there's an elephant charging through your wall?"  and seated us right away. . .It took 30 min for anyone to take our drink order and that was only because the MANAGER noticed and took our drink order himself!! -  The waitress finally showed up to take our order  - We wanted an appetizer - the sampler and asked if we could substitute due to food allergies - the waitress did not skip a beat and said no, then suggested things with the exact items we just said we are allergic to!!!  She drifted off - and in the meanwhile the manager, Juan brought our drinks and water and took our appetizer order and muttered under his breath "since your waitress is sooooo helpful". . .Then the waitress showed up again to take our food order. . .It was torture. . .One order was a wedge salad - we requested no egg - her response "but you do want the bacon, and cheese, right?"  "yes - but no egg" "yes, but egg is dairy you know" was her response. . .(Really?  on what planet?") ok - forgivable - I ordered bbq trio with chicken, ribs, and shrimp, and asked to substitute salmon for the shrimp due to shellfish allergys her response was "i'll check, but isn't salmon shellfish too?" Ok - forgiveable, not everyone is a genius but come on!!! You are a waitress!!  Know your food groups!!!  4th person in the group - who orders a burger (build your own) AND she FLIRTS with him!!!!  He is 15 years old!!!  Not so forgiveable (understandable because my boy is handsome after all, but no!!!!)  He is not only underage, but his is a PATRON!!! Â
I finally have a chance to taste my Sangria and it is BITTER!!!! Â It takes us fifteen minutes of trying to catch the waitresses eye (while she stands at the bar staring at the tv) and all the while we observe the manager, Juan, busing tables, delivering food, refilling water glasses, and generally busting his ass keeping people happy. Â After 15 minutes of this, we ask a passing server to ask Juan to stop by our table. Â He arrives at our table immediately, notices that we have not yet received our appetizer and begins to apologize for the delay when I let him know that my drink is too bitter to drink. Â Within 5 min, we had our piping hot appetizer, and a new drink delivered by. . .You guessed it, Juan!!! Â Our meal was delivered within 5 min, by two other servers, with our server supervising. . .oh wait, she did deliver something. . .more flirting with my 15 year old!!! Â Yeah. . .good times. . . .
Anywho. . .we saw her several more times, each time was to ask how my son's meal was, and if there was anything else she could do for us. . .thankfully, it was Juan who brought us the bill - I specified it was Juan who should get the monetary tip, and the server should get the written tip "google and learn food groups and wait staff etiquette or find another job you are better suited for."
I completely agree with Scott's review on the same day. Â Every time I have gone to any Elephant Bar it is a complete miss on the food and/or service or a sort of hit. Â We went there because we got a gift card, but this would definitely not be close to a first choice to eat.
It was Father's day, but we got there in between lunch and dinner so the wait wasn't bad. Â The server who had our table was nice, but over the top of the compliments of what we were wearing...."OMG....I love that.....(whatever you have on)". Â I don't need compliments....I NEED FOOD!
Anyway we got the appetizers, would not recommend the calamari, it is strips of calamari not the usual preparation....kind of weird. Â Ordered the Steak and Shrimp, Chicken sandwich called "Smokehouse" and Cobb salad....no this was not all mine...shame on you for thinking that anyway.
The steak was too fatty and the sandwich was not that good according to my wife. Â It had all this stuff piled on it and difficult to eat the way it was prepared. Â My Cobb salad was odd too, not the usual Cobb but an okay portion size.
Still server through the whole meal was over the top with the compliments, but okay on the service. Â On the way out another couple of quest were talking to the manager about how rude their server (who was not the same one) was to them with some really choice words which I didn't need to hear. Â
Would I come back....if I get a gift card...yes....if I don't....no. Â So please don't give me an Elephant Bar gift card when you think of me.....thanks for the thought though.
Elephant Bar is very unpredictable. The food quality and service changes each time I come. Today the service was good and the food was good. I was here last week and service was terrible food was so so . So basically it's a hit or miss. I have not given up all together but I am definitely walking the line of not returning.
Review Source:Love coming here for lunch. seems slow during lunch so your seated quickly and food gets to your table in about 20 mins HOT! plates are big enough to share.
my fav is the wedge side salad so maj!!!
sweet people and I love the locations. down the street walking distance from the movie theater and Westfield mall and the shopping center where the resturant is located in.
I walked in really liking what I saw. The decor was adorable and I love the giant elephant head statue on the wall. I was super excited to get to my table and try the food.
There wasn't a long wait so that was a plus. Our waitress was really nice and helpful when my dad asked her questions about the food. We did order an appetizer, it was pretty good and I am so glad I didn't fill up on it because the meal I ordered was like 3 times too much for me to eat.
The food came out much too hot to eat, but once it cooled down my entree was delicious. I had a chicken dish but both of my parents had beef and they both said it was super fatty.
The bill was really expensive so I think it was our hint that we probably won't be back here any time soon.
We didn't order dessert but a couple tables around us did and oh my they are huge!
We had a wonderful experience at the Elephant Bar. Our waiter did an exceptional job at serving us! Â Lovely scenery and atmosphere was pleasant... Food was superb we both had the parmesan Crusted Chicken! Thanks for a wonderful time. we were rounding off a day celebrating our Birthdays together. May 9, and May 11th...
Much satisfied Customers,
I've been to this Elephant Bar a number of times and like it enough to keep going back! Lately, we sit in the bar area because it's open seating and still the same great service. The cocktails are tasty, especially during happy hour! The fish tacos wrapped in butter lettuce are very tasty, chicken marsala good too, coconut shrimp, and the creme brule dessert is a delicious treat!
Review Source:Three words, MONGOLIAN-BEEF, (I am also terrible at Math) Do you know what it is like to eat an entree that is so good it literally gives you an erection? Let me just try to explain how good it truley was, There was my entree, to my right and there was my Girlfriend to my left saying, " babe, you want to get this to go IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN??", showing my that cute little wink she gives me whenever she wants to do the dirty dance, I chose to continue eating WITH A FULL BLOWN " Prince Everhard". Oh, and they have a pretty goo tea spritzer...
Review Source:Went there for a family dinner with my in-laws and everyone liked it. The service was good, my son loved his mac and cheese, people got like their food (except me). I found the food just to be only a step up from fast food as in it's boring and pretty tasteless. However, everyone else was happy so, who cares! I guess it's the kind of place you take a group of people who are not particularly adventurous and all will be good.
Review Source:Holy happy hour! You should definitely check this place out if you are in the area between 4 and 7. Â I've had the chicken wraps, ahi salad and a burger. Â No complaints. Â The drink specials are killer during happy hour. Â I've only ever sat at the bar, so I'm not sure the vibe in the main seating area. Â The bar is a lot of fun, and the bartenders have been extremely kind and professional.
Review Source:This place is so inconsistent!
Depending on what manager is working, it can be very good or very bad.
Last night it was very bad. Old lettuce served in the salad. I sent it back, but before they brought another one, they served us our entree!
Bad management. What a dissappointment.
Tables, floors, booths not clean. Disgusting!
We hadn't eaten here before, but we had a coupon so we decided to try it. We were greatly impressed with the service! Our waitress was very informative and personable; which always makes for a good dining experience :o) To start we had the toasted garlic bread with marinara sauce; which was pretty good. For the main course my boyfriend had the Tuna Ahi and he was completely happy with his choice; he even stated it was the best he'd ever had! My main course was the Parmesan Crusted Chicken. It wasn't as crunchy as I'd hoped because they put marinara sauce over the top and that always takes the crunchy out, but I finished my meal so it couldn't have been all that bad :o) The cocktails are a little pricey so I might not order an alcoholic beverage on our next visit, but we will most definitely be back!
Review Source:I've been here several times, and the food ain't that bad for being a chain. You just have to order the right things.
I want to touch upon Happy Hour because the last time I went in, I was pleasantly surprised at what they offered. Â All of the appetizers are under six bucks, and they aren't "happy hour" portions. It's the full sized servings. Let me highlight some of the food I had:
Soy ginger calamari - Delicious! Lightly breaded long strips of calamari tossed together with a carrot and cucumber salad. It's definitely shareable.
Firecracker shrimp - breaded shrimp with a spicy mayo sauce for dipping. It was okay. I mean, how can you mess up fried shrimp? Or for that matter, make it fancy?
Chicken wraps - loved it. The chicken is perfectly marinated and the lettuce is cut into perfect tortilla-like circles that makes for the perfect vessel to contain their yummy chicken and salsa.
Sweet potato fries - pretty standard and perfect to share.
Okay, so we ordered two orders of the chicken lettuce wraps, one firecracker shrimp, one calamari and one order of sweet potato fries. Top that off with a blue moon beer for myself and needless to say, me and the wifey were stuffed.
The real surprise was the bill. Good food + stuffed + a beer = $33. Not bad for a date out with the wifey.
I will definitely be back again for happy hour! :)
The only reason it gets 2 stars is for the drink specials during happy hour
So decided to try this place out with some friends..arrived 30 minutes before happy hour was about to end. So I ordered some food and drinks on the happy hour menu.. I decided to stay safe and ordered their cheeseburger that came with fries and a beer (there nice meal and drink combo) .. I was so hungry when my food came in I could hardly wait to bite in it.. When I did I was so shocked by the taste..the burger was so salty!!!!. I thought maybe it was just that one side..that one piece ..so I bit into it again..and once again it was as if I licked a hand full of pure salt.. So I quickly told the bartender and he was really nice and returned the burger back to the kitchen.. Without me asking the manager comes in and he apologizes for the food and as I waited he gives me some fries since I was dying of hunger... So the burger comes back and I bite into it.. The burger had little to no seasoning ( So bland.. I couldn't even eat it anymore) Â At this point I was done (how can you mess up a burger, a restaurant should not be open if it can't make a single nicely seasoned burger that wasn't chewy) so I doubt I'll be back anytime soon.. Well if I do I'll stick with the drinks only
However my friends had the lettuce wraps and they said it was really good.. Maybe I'll try that.. If I ever decide to come back
I'd give this place a 3.5 stars. I only ever come here after work (I work in the same shopping center) for happy hour. The deals are decent, though Lucille's across the street are way better. The bartenders are super friendly and mix a mean drink and the food is alright. My only big complain is the service, which, if you're seated in the bar area but not at the bar itself is tended to by waitresses. Man, are most of them slow! Even when the place isn't crowded the wait for them is kind of ridiculous. But whatever, the drinks are great and the place is convenient.
Review Source:Went there for the first time. My husband and daughter ordered burgers. They looked tasty but they were dry, tasteless and hard to chew specially the kids meal burger. Good thing my shrimp noodle and tempura salmon were good. We love the ambiance and the waiters were very nice and friendly. So we'll give another try.
Review Source:I'm just in aw over my last visit to Elephant Bar in Valencia. Every other week when I'm on my way home from dropping off my children at my ex-wives house who is incredibly insane, I stop by elephant bar to release the tension after dealing with my little toddlers in tiaras. Upon my last visit at E Bar, I was just so pleased when I walked up to the bar and Brock suggested the Skinny Snap Dragon Martini-- boy does he know how to shake a great martini! 5 stars for Brock and 5 stars for my Snap Dragon Tini, SNAP! thanks Brock, you made my night!
Review Source:This place is great for a variety of food and awesome happy hour specials. Â Yes, its a chain restaurant, but the food is pretty good and the coconut shrimp is far better than Salt Creek's. I am not kidding. And its half the price! Â
If you go into Elephant Bar expecting to be blown away by the food, its not going to happen. Â Is there anywhere in Valencia that is THAT amazing? Â My four star rating is based on what it is (chain restaurant), and considering the quality of the food for being a chain. Â There is something for everyone featuring food with an Asian/Californian flair. Â The sweet potato fries and coconut shrimp are some of my favorites. Â The ahi tuna salad is good, but I always ask for dressing on the side, otherwise it will come drenched in dressing.
Amazing happy hour specials at this location. Â I think elephant bar has hands down the best burger and brew special in Santa clarita; flavorful, and comes equipped with all the goodies.
I've only been here for the happy hour in the bar, but this place always looks packed and the servers are awesome.
It's hard to beat a burger and a brew for $6-this one is delicious as well, if you live in the SCV definitely don't miss it.
Didn't feel like waiting for a regular table and found a space at the bar. Â The service was very good and the space had lots of flat screens to watch the ball game. Â Dinner at the bar worked out well and the Macau soup with salmon roll combo was good and flavorful. Â
Sweet potato fries with the garlic ketchup is my favorite. Â
The fries are also good with the tamarind sauce and I suggest EB offer it as an alternative. Â
Food comes out fast and the servers and food runners are courteous and service oriented. Â I've been coming for years and he service has noticeably improved. Â Keep it up!
went to the Elephant Bar in Valencia last week and sat in the bar area,  Brock was our bar tender....he gave us  fast great service and was fun to talk to.  WE  hadn't been for awhile as our last experience there with the bartender was less than pleasant....that bartender ( I think his name was Josh) was really slow, our food came out BEFORE we got our drinks!
Look forward to our next visit and hope to see Brock at the bar again! and enjoy a
great Mai Tai!!
I have always enjoyed going to an Elephant Bar wherever I've gone to one. Their meals are exotic as compared to a standard meat and potato dinner, or even seafood. Most dishes have a sort of Asian flair to them. I have to say, I'm sorely disappointed they have done away with my favourite grilled shrimp salad, but there are a lot of tasty dishes on the menu. I will have to say most dishes seem to have a "sweetness" to them and sometimes I want SAVOURY... garlicky... salty... That's not to say they aren't good dishes here... I just come out needing some chips to counter-balance the sweet sometimes. *l*
The restaurant itself is clean with a cool, well-done safari decor. If the restaurant is full, it is quite noisy and hard to carry on a conversation. If you come at peak meal times, you can be in for quite a wait, but they handle it efficiently with the portable buzzer thingies.
Overall, I enjoy the Elephant Bar - I just wish they'd bring back that grilled shrimp salad!
We really enjoy the Elephant Bar. Our last trip to the bar, we were served by Alyssa who used to work in the bar area. She is so friendly. Her service is better than most  we get here in the Valencia area. She was able to help us select food that help with our diets and allergies. My girlfriend just learned that she can't have dairy products and Alyssa was able to talk to the chefs and recommend the Chicken Ty salad with the dressing on the side. A great salad for my girlfriend to eat. Anyone who needs help with the menu that has allergies I recommend you ask for Alyssa. Also, if you need to get a good drink, she can recommend and/or make you one.
Thanks again for the great service.
Food was very good. I ordered the Ruben and BF had the steak with shrimp. We both really enjoyed our meals and will surely be back. I have to also note that I ordered the premium mojito and loved it... what a treat!
I promised my man that I'd mention the small writing on the menu..bring your reading glasses folks for those over 40...lol
Came here for a family dinner while visiting. I've never been to any Elephant Bar Restaurant - and it was a good experience! Only real complaint was that it was sorta too dark for my liking.
We ordered the appetizer sampler - which was pretty good, and the spinach artichoke dip...the chips were just a tad bit too salty.
For my entree I ordered the miso salmon with veggies which was delicious, not the best salmon I've ever had, but cooked well and tasty for the price. 2 people in my party ordered the lamb shanks which were sooooo good! So tender and tasty, so I wish I had gotten that.
I think I am officially done with this chain. I don't understand how they can fill up the restaurant when their food is so bad. We had their breadstick marinara for appetizers and had the teriyaki crispy chicken and mongolian beef for our entrees. Eww..
The appetizer was good and so was my Mai Thai but the food was bad. Things started going downhill once they removed my favorite sampler platter. I think I am all 'Elephant Bar'ed out!
Elephant Bar, When you offer a jalapeno burger may I suggest that you serve it with jalapenos rather than a pile of diced bell peppers?
May I also suggest that when thee diners receive fries that one order not be half the size of the others.
May I further suggest that when you serve shrimp that you cook them.
And finally may I encourage that when diners are looking at the menu they are probably not ready to order. The international sign for "I'm ready to order" is setting your menu down. When the waiter comes by three times while we're looking over the menu he comes off looking pushy, not helpful.
I couldn't get out of here quick enough.
It's good to be reminded why I come here so rarely.
If you go here for a meal, you better expect mediocrity. If you're here for a few drinks, then your precious bounty awaits. Though they boast their little niche about wok'ing everything (la dee freakin' da right?), every entree I've ever had here is improperly seasoned. I made the mistake of ordering their seared tuna which came out way too salty and over-seared. What's the point of having "ponzu" if the fish is already too seasoned?
Amidst all the bad and sub-standard entrees, I discovered some delectables worth mentioning The olu Mai Tai ($5.95) was honestly one of the best Mai Tai's I've ever had. (Flame-suit on). Sure beats the $1 Mai Tai's I used to get in Waikiki. Their sweet potato fries ($3.95) is frankly bomb. They're crisped up quite nicely with a thin inner-layer of softness. It's served with some glorified tangy ketchup that I admit cuts the oiliness of the fries quite well. So here's the deal-breaker. They have a limited-time pumpkin tart with sabayon that is godly. I mean, for $5.95, the work that goes into plating alone is worth it. The foam is soft and creamy while the tart for once has an even balance of filling and crust. The whole plate is rained on with some chocolate shavings and the final product is something you'd likely find off the 29. There I said it.
