This bar is the hot ticket.
I dragged a friend here from Long Beach and I think, with freeway traffic, it took us about a month and half to get there.
Wonderfully enough, there's a fantastic BBQ restaurant next door, so we ate and came in.
I came here for the kitsch-factor and oh lord, my senses were delighted and all expectations fulfilled by the time we took our seats.
The wall-length panels of beautifully rendered lounge scenes from the underworld are intoixcating, the lighting is a fiery neon red throughout so everything looks like you're in a bowling alley scene in Beetlejuice.
I think in swooping my head back and forth, I noticed a white poodle sitting in one of the barstools, just completely calm, staring right at me.
The bartendress resembed Roseanne from her role in She-Devil, frizzy 80's hair enlivened by the neon pink lights behind  her.
Good to be here!
Come for the beer, stay for the red deviled naked girly wall art. Â I actually thought this was a cool little dive bar, since we wanted a late Sunday kickback spot, this was it. Â It was on our bar hopping route. Â I've also came here on a Friday night, I think we passed because it was crowded & we just weren't feeling it that night, although it's probably better for others, just not us were more slow lounging old farty types.
It's cash only, no draft, strictly a bottled beer, hard liquor & I think wine. Â Pool table, Jukebox and yep we saw the tamale lady (now I also know where to stop by to get tamales, they smelled good!!) Â Â Just to think I've lived there my almost my entire childhood & had never been in until late yesterday. Â We'll be back for those lazy afternoons of boozing on the run....
