San Gabriel APA

If you like bars, billiards, and hanging out with friends..

APA (American Pool Players Association) is the nation's largest amateur bar table 9-ball & 8-ball league.. and San Gabriel Valley is known for being the most fun, organized, and definitely most competitive.

Format:  teams of 5-8 players play once a week for a season.. yes this is for bragging rights, trophies, a trip to Vegas, & money! *Handicap system makes matches fair for beginner & advanced players.

Cost: Is minimal, about the cost of one drink each week, free pool during league and most bar and pool halls offer complimentary/discount drink tickets for players on league nights.  A steal of a deal I think.

Opportunities:  Beyond just having fun and playing pool, individuals can opt to qualify for other league format tournaments w/ APA membership: Singles, Jack & Jill, 3-man teams, etc for more $ prizes.  Also many pool halls and billiard stores have APA discounts. Basically  APA : pool player :: Yelp : foodies.

I made a lot of friends and it helped my game a lot. Hope to see some of you at league.  :)
