Went to taco tuesday, our table for a huge party was not ready so we said we would wait at the bar and the host sent us downstairs to the crowded one when he should of told us about the wine bar! We wasted half an hour sitting uncomfortably down in the pit when we could have been sitting in the nice wine bar where it was empty and quiet!!! Â
We got stuck sitting on the street which meant it was really hard to get service when we wanted it, I ran around inside looking for waitstaff but didn't find anyone. When I ordered my food and drink I did not get what I ordered but she sent it back and I ended up paying more for my margarita upstairs than downstairs but it was OK as it was not the bland all ice slushy $5 margarita I had earlier at the bar where the $5 large guacamole was tiny and too smooth and bland like taco bell. At the bar, I couldn't figure out which tacos were what had to call someone and ask whos was whos.
Very small not warm chips handed out with extreme portioning, 4 tiny bowls for 14 people, you had to ask get any chips and salsa and keep asking if you wanted more, probably not enough bus people to handle service but waitress was kind and friendly.
Their halibut and grilled fish tacos were OK for the tuesday price, but I would never pay more. Considering the regular menu prices, like the so so 12 carne asada burrito we had, they really need to be less cheap with the chip bowl size.
The only thing that redeemed the whole experience was that their flan was the best, extra heavy and thick, but still very very good.
I was so beyond disappointed in how I was treated at this place, I'd NEVER set foot in the place again. Â My brother was in town from Scottsdale and I'd had this place bookmarked for a while, so we wandered in around 5 on Sunday. Â Our plan was to drink, chat, and maybe have some appetizers. Â
After our first drink was delivered the waitress asked us if we would be eating. Â I told her no, not dinner, but maybe an appetizer. Â But mainly we want to drink. Â She proceeded to tell us that she was going to ask us to move tables (our table was directly next to the bar outside/downstairs) if we weren't going to eat because people would be coming for dinner and would want to watch the band and eat. (the place was virtually empty) Â My brother then said, "So you're saying that my money isn't good at this table?" Â She said, "I don't know why the hostess even sat you here anyway, she shouldn't have." Â I said, I'm pretty sure our bar bill is going to be WAY more than my dinner bill would be. Â She then said she was sorry, but we would have to move. Â
At that point I was seeing red. Â I told her to bring the bill so we could get out of there. Â I was insulted and embarrassed that I brought an out of town guest to a place that treated me like a third class citizen. Â She knew I was REALLY mad and did nothing to even resolve it. Â Well, she won alright. Â She won me telling everyone I know that this place should be avoided!!!!!
