This may have some cool old school ice cream stand love but I am not a fan. Â I hadn't stopped in here since I worked in Plain City 5 years ago. Â I drove away disappointed, based on their soft serve ice cream.
I ordered a banana ice cream cone, that was stupid of me, for $2.19. Â So here is my first complaint, the price seems way too high for a small soft serve ice cream. Â Next complaint is on the banana taste, I couldn't taste it. Â The ice cream was icy like the cheaper soft serve cones from Burger King. Â They don't use the top quality soft serve. Â My cone was also stale. Â I should of gone to McDonald's and got the same thing but as a vanilla cone for a lot cheaper. Â
I may stop back because they have a Yelp deal to get a free big wheel with purchase but I won't get soft serve from here again.  They  serve Hershey's ice cream and do have other choices.  I think this place survives on nostalgia and lack of competition.  I had friendly service but that was about it.
Wow, this little shack is old school, but is esentially what all ice-cream businesses should be like. They have tons of flavors of ice-cream to choose from, and they don't just stop at the ice-cream niche. They also have a list of hot items if you're looking for a stop for dinner, or lunch as well.
This place makes me remember my childhood in the small town that I grew up in. (Ashville, represent!) It's nice that places still exist in nice little towns such as Plain City.
Out back are plenty of picnic tables, so stop, take some time, enjoy the day, and focus wholly on you and that ice-cream cone dripping down your hand.
Another  "as good as it gets."  This is a classic old-school ice cream stand.  I used to come here 20 years ago, and it hasn't changed much.  Well, they take credit cards now, not that you'll need them with such low prices. Â
Ice cream, shakes, sundaes, and an assortment of fried foods. Â Stand there trying to choose from so many enticing options. Â Order at one window and pick up at another. Â It's hard to resist stopping every single time I drive past...
Eskimo Queen has the best comfort food in Northwest Columbus. Â From their pulled pork sandwhiches, pizza burgers and jalapeno poppers, you'll find everything and anything you can imagine on their menu. Â Not to mention their 100 flavors of ice cream or something like that. Â You can basically dream up any flavor and they'll make it for you!
I've also had their fried mushrooms and cheesesticks too - very yummy. Â
Service is fast and friendly. They even have a drive through.
My husband and I visited in the Fall to see that they also were selling pumpkins and gords too which was a nice touch.
