Fanatics has about 12 beers on tap, some in bottle, and a full-bar. Â I always come here when I go bowling next door @ "Valley Bowl." Â This spot has to be the best deal around on pitchers of Newcastle for $8.50. Â I NEVER get anything else since that's such a deal, and really hits the spot when bowling...
Fanatics + Rock & Bowl + Me = YAY!
I seem to end up here with my brother every time I come to the RGV. Â For a bar in a bowling alley, it's pretty okay. Â They've got a decent selection of beer on tap and a few of the same types in bottles, which seems redundant, but whatever. Â They also have a full bar, complete with a Jager machine and a similar one for tequila. Â There's lots of televisions, screening current sports events. Â It was kind of funny being one of the two Packers fans in the place when the Cowboys and Packers were playing one another last season. Â The jukebox is pretty impressive and wide-ranging. Â There's also several pool tables, some video games (no pinball, sadly), and a ginormous horse racing game machine thingie.
On the downside, I always go home smelling like smoke, even if I don't notice it when I'm there. Â The wait service can be kind of spotty, but I recommend going to the bar to order anyway to decrease payment confusion if you're there with a group of people.
