I have been here many times now. I will never go back. I live in Chowchilla and the quality of food is deplorable, from the breakfast to the appetizers, lunch and dinner. The main server is rude and easily flustered and very very rude. The one plus is sometimes the soup is good, never great but good. The owner is greatly lacking the ideals of owning a restaurant and what quality food is. Please eat at great caution and to the owner..Step up to the plate and see if you will eat it
Review Source:We stopped here on our way home cause we were hungry and didnt was fast food. This place was clean and organized, but very old decore! Our server was nice and friendly. She knew the menu well. She quickly answered our questions. We both ordered a burger, one with onion rings and one with the garlic fries, cause we like to share. The food came quickly. The burgers were cooked to med rare like we asked. Which is hard to get like that, cause most places dont even ask what temp u want on a burger. The burgers were juicy and freshly made patties!! The onion rings we large and in charge. Yum!!! The garlic fries were just not good. When i order garlic fries, i expect to see some fresh garlic and parsley , tossed with some seasoning salt. NOT HERE! They were of the frozen type, with no garlic at all!!! Not good what so ever!!! We also ordered a dinner salad to share, and u could tell is was of a bagged variety. Nothing fresh about the salad at all. The dressing was out of a bottle. Nothing good or bad about the salad.
There is a fancy steakhouse dining room also, but that wasnt open. I guess its open for dinner. They also have a full service bar/lounge in the back. I did check out the dinner menu and they have some high priced steaks for dinner. I dont think i would come here for dinner, but hey, u never know!!!
Overall, this is a nice little diner to stop on a road trip.
I went to Farnesi's not expecting much. The building is older and tucked back behind other businesses. The inside looks like a time warp to 1975. But despite all that, the place is clean, the service was very good, and the food was way better than I had hoped. I had the pork chop breakfast. The chop was tender and very good. My wife got the Fried Chicken. It was made fresh and not frozen.
Overall, for diner food I would recommend Farnesi's. I was pleasantly suprised.
Went back and had good dinner, and great service, again. Â It's so true that a server can make or break your dining out experience. Â The place always seems clean, and the fried chicken was good, too! Â Not high end dining, but good, home made food at a price that doesn't make the baby go without shoes!
Review Source:After not even being greeted until 10 minutes after we arrived, was given flat soda as our drinks. Â
two waitresses on staff, from conversation overheard after we were initially served, they wanted to flip a coin to see who would HAVE to serve the customers that came in.
Ordered food, salad with meal may have been the best part of the meal, outside of the asparagas that was served with the mail meal.
Both my wife and I ordered the New York Steak and asked for leaner cuts. Â Obviously the waitress or the cook does not understand lean cuts of meat. Â Had more fat and gristle(sp) then actual meat.
Wife ordered the mashed potatos and I the baked potato. Â Both orders had so much cheese on them, you couldnt taste the potato.
One good thing that I have to say for our waitress, was the fact that she was brutally honest about some of the food. Â Asked for ideas and she said NO on the ribs. Â Too much BBQ sauce, so that was a plus.
I would be very cautious of eating here. Â Of what we ate and could eat was good for the most part, but wouldnt recommend that restaurant too anyone.
Regarding the bar: your level of service depends on the amount of people in it. Pretty decent place, but the acoustics make it loud quick. I'd suggest one of their specialty drinks.
Regarding the restaurant: the food is pretty good, and brought out in a timely manner. Get your grub on, people.
Last night my boyfriend and I ate here for the second time. The first time was good so we decided to go again after the place we originally wanted to go to was packed. This time we opted to stay in the side dining room instead of the main coffee shop. It made a big difference in atmosphere. The room was tastefully decorated and did not feel like you were in a coffee shop diner. My boyfriend had the Steakhouse Salad which was huge and had a good serving of steak on it. I had the Chicken Alfredo Lasagna which was very tasty, but for the price I would have liked a larger piece that was not lopsided with only half having chicken in it. Overall it was a good dining experience, not a place I would call Diner's Drive-ins, and Dives to visit, but not a bad place to stop for a meal.
Review Source:This place is a time warp in 2010. I went there twice in one weekend while visiting a friend in the area. We first went for dinner were it was local people inside the bar and the wait staff, one had to wait on. The food was ok, I had a custom grilled cheese sandwich with fried onions and tomatoes. What I really wanted was In and Out but I was there. Â
The kids menu was good with enough food to feed a young child. The man at the table next to us, ordered a very large steak for somewhere in the $20's range.
For breakfast the next day, I had two eggs and hash browns which were good, my friend had a meal with lots of garlic fries and I mean lots with enough food to make sure we were full when we left. It is worth stopping to eat getting a pricey or cheap meal, your choice.
When I walked in this place, I felt like I somehow was beamed back to my hometown of South Jersey.... Â There is a very weird 70s feel here....
We came in while driving down to Yosemite... Â A short and sweet review is this: Â the staff is great. Â Very nice, and very accommodating. Â They made substitutions QUITE easily for us, which was fantastic! Â Though I recommend maybe considering a uniform on top that comes up a little higher? Maybe just a little bit?
However, this place is VERY expensive for being a diner-esque place. Â I always felt that you can't put the word "Steakhouse" in your name and get away with charging an extra $10 per plate....
I went with a minestrone soup and a tuna melt... Â They were ok, nothing wrong with them, but nothing really satisfying about them either. Â I actually only ate half of the sandwich.
The bathroom stall, tiny!!! Â The door was touching my knees!
I really wish the prices were a little lower. Â If so, I could see this as being a regular place I'd stop to eat on the way to Yosemite, but based on how it is now, I'd rather find somewhere else... Â Sorry guys... Â :/
