Fibber McGee's

Old review reflected old ownership - todays Fibs is NOTHING like it used to be.  Since being purchased by the great folks that run my favorite bar, the Tin Whistle, things here are much better.  Better bar service, better food, better atmosphere.  Living in Salem, I don't head out to Beverly as much as I used to, but Fibs does me right when I'm there.  Just a good neighborhood pub.

We've lived in Beverly for 13 years and had never tried Fibber McGee's (I think it used to be called Cracker's) until last night. We had always assumed that it was just another dive bar with mediocre food, but my wife and I had a really good experience here. It has an inviting,  cozy atmosphere, the service was very good, and although we only had burgers, they were great and the sides of onion rings were hand-made rather than those awful frozen things. Best of all, they made me a perfectly-crafted Maker's Mark Manhattan.
I'll mention my wife's 2 criticisms - she was surprised that they had no Shiraz offering (this is offset by their extensive beer menu), and her burger bun was over-toasted. This is the reason for the 4 stars - I had a 5 star experience and my wife's was a "3."
We'll definitely go back and try some of the other menu offerings.

Ive lived in Beverly for 3 years now.... I went into Fibber McGees awhile ago and thought it was alright... Just recently I was out for a walk and stopped in to grab supper... I had their steak tips.!! They are awesome!!!!

I then took a friend in with me...Got the sampler...Steak tips, chicken and bbq ribs!!!!
They were awesome!!!!

Went back again!! Had the nachos!! Awesome!!

Went back again for more steak tips!!! Awesome!!!

The service was great too!! Friendly bar staff!!... Small talk...But just enough to let me know they are nice people and welcoming.

They are a great bar selection.

Plenty of space and the noise level depends on what time you're in there.

I plan on continuing to go back again soon.
