I'm very sad to give this review because of the great experiences I have had in the past.
It was Friday night, and crowded, and as soon as my family walked in to tell the hostesses our reservation, they all seemed to have a frown on. So we get led to our table, and while we were looking at the wine list that was given to me by a miserable waitress, we noticed the table was ready to fall apart, like the top was spinning and loose. So, we told the miserable waitress, and she told us we had to move from our table near the fireplace to next to the salad bar. My parents and us didn't want to move right next to the bar. When the hostess came over and led us to the new table, I asked her if we could sit at another location, not near the bar, and she looked up at me with a nasty look and snapped "your sitting right there!" and pointed to another area. Okay lady.
So we order our food with a different waiter, who was a zombie. My dad got clams casino, and they were literally made with bad clams. Disgusting. We were finally able to find the guy who brought them to us and told him to take them back. No apology or anything and gave us a look like "yah right people". We got our main courses and I ordered steak Au Poivre, and I ordered it medium rare and got it well done and leathery. I was so sick of the place and attitudes, I didn't even bother to send it back.
So desert time, I ordered a chocolate cake special, and they bring it, and my wife notices right away, right on top, a rotten strawberry. How the hell do you let that slip by?
This was the worst visit I have had there, and don't think I'll be going back any time soon. If you are too busy, turn away the people. Obviously the staff was burned out from the wait staff to the chefs. It was only 6:00 too. I haven't been treated that bad by a staff (about 5 different people in this case) in a long time. The Depot better address these issues real soon, because I know I'm never going back.
Haven't been to he Depot since I mode to Beverly 8 years ago. Â Stopped in last night after I got off the train from the Bs game.
Sat at the bar and had an absolute perfect blue cheese burger and fries with a few glasses of wine.
Honestly, one of the most delicious burgers I've had in some time and, certainly, the best in the area.
Will be back for sure!
