Here's a good experiment for you: walk in to Finnegan's on a Monday - Wednesday night and ask for one of these:

Bartenders serving at full liquor bars should be required to memorize, at a minimum, the popular items on that list. Do you seriously not know how to make a Godfather or a Mai Tai? Shameful.
Beyond that, it's a great place to go if you want a pseudo-Irish pub experience. You'll be better off hitting up Pug Mahone's instead, for St Patty's or to get your Irish on. You can watch international Soccer matches here, if that's your thing.
This place is way too crowded on Friday and Saturday nights.
Cool place for hanging out getting some decent beer. Â Yes, their beer selection was not bad at all. Â I actually found Dogfish 60, which I really enjoy. Â The crowd is fun and very laid back atmosphere. Â Bartenders are friendly and pretty fast taking care of you.
My only issue is how crowded it tends to get. Â Seriously, cool fun place but you are elbow to elbow at times with no room to move. Â Forget the dude who forgets to put deodorant on standing next to you. Â Oh yes, a bit to tight for comfort.
I suggest going early to avoid the crowds. Â Nice bar, back parking lot.
For sure one of the best places in town. Once you out grow the college craziness and no longer want to venture down to Tennessee street, that is when you will discover why Finnegan's is so great. Decent prices, laid back atmosphere, and great beer selection. That is what I am talking about! They also know how to pour a black & blue, one of my favorite drinks!
Review Source:Finnegan's is a place that I usually stop at while in Tallahassee. Â They have a good environment and when I've been there is hasn't been too crazy and the bartenders are pretty good about taking care of the customers. Â
I don't really have any good tips or hints to add about this place, unfortunately, but it's a decent little watering hole.
Been here a few times and its always good. Its your typical Irish pub. Maybe because I'm from Boston and I'm Irish, but I prefer this type of place over many of the other bars in the area. Bartenders were friendly, drinks were cheap. Also loved that the door guy had a Red Sox hat on...love it!
Review Source:I was a huge fan of this place when it opened even though it was just another Irish themed pub, though for the past couple years this place has just become flooded with douchey Frat boy types and other bored college students. The bartenders are great but it usually takes forever to get up to them to get a drink.
Review Source:Meh. Â I mean it's an okay place, if way too expensive. Â My real gripe isn't the drinks, they have a wide selection. Â Can't complain about the bored college-student staff either, you run into those types everywhere in Tally. Â My main complaint is: Â It's just another fn fake Irish pub. Â I can go to the one at freakin' EPCOT and at least Disney Corp. has imported some actual Irish people to staff it. Â And besides, it's located in that irritatingly yuppie/faux hipster "Midtown Real Estate Scam" area, which is reason enough to stay away.
Review Source:Finnegan's Wake is my regular Thursday night bar. The staff is super friendly, and the drinks are strong. The atmosphere is great (not too dark, not too bright) and the music selection is typically awesome (the staff makes the mix). However, I'd say away on the weekend if I were you. The place is seriously crowded.
Review Source:Professional, friendly bartenders almost save this place from being the worst Irish pub I've ever been to. It's way too brightly lit, ridiculously crowded full of yuppies in ties, and all of the drinks are overpriced.
My coworkers and I enjoyed trying to convince some random guys that we were lumberjacks, but that was about all that redeemed this place.
