Had dinner here. It wasn't a horrible meal. I ordered the fish and it was fresh, but everything we ordered we both thought we could have made a better dinner. I guess that's why I rate it so low; it's not that it was bad food, but if I can do better, then I don't know why I'd pay someone else to cook it.
Prices are very fair. If you're a family, it's definitely affordable dining and good enough food for kids to eat.
If you're traveling on the highway don't bother making this a pit stop. it's too far off the highway.
Look, I understand this is a small town and you don't have many restaurants. Â I also understand that if you're a family or an elderly couple, or just some people looking for a quick bite, then this place is cheap and fine. Â But the best thing I can say about the food was it was better than edible.
I ended up here by chance. Â Driving from FL to CT and avoiding I-95 traffic, so we come up through the Carolinas, VA, WV and PA before cutting east to CT. Â We wanted dinner, so my girlfriend did a yelp search in the area and found this 5 star diner. Â We misjudged how far it was from the highway (not really a highway stop), but once we were committed, we kept going.
I got a hamburger, she got some fish item. Â Meh. Â That's what yelp tells you a 2 star review means, and that's what this is. Â Meh. Â Service was fine, value was great - it's really cheap - but the food is bland and really underwhelming. Â You're better off at Denny's, if there is one nearby, unless you prefer spending your money at mom & pop kind of places, in which case, go here, just load up on the salt, pepper, ketchup and hot sauce, cause their food needs all of it.
