1 star is one too many. Terrible service, terrible food, and ridiculously High prices.
Warning to anyone with a FOOD ALLERGY!!!!!
My friend spoke to 3 different staff members regarding allergy. His meal arrived on a bed of food he is allergic to.

Note to management: get rid of head phones and mics that all employees wear. They are all trying to communicate and it seems to be causing information overload. No one knew we were waiting for a table, no wait staff member was assigned to our table. More than a couple were unaware of guest with FOOD ALLERGY!!!!!!!!

My friend thought it best not to eat anything. 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, 2 kids meals, 1 large salad, 2 beers, 3 teas, 2 Sprites = $150.00

+ $20.00 for our server. She appeared to be embarrassed and alarmed at how this happened. She spoke to kitchen twice and very apologetic.

Bad service and average food. We were supposed to receive complementary apps and the server charged us and then didn't fix it. Wine glasses are strange, and the silverware is gross.

One order was the Clams, Mussels and Shrimp Steamed and it was REALLY good!!
Grilled Mahi Mahi was really good also!
Shrimp Cocktail was excellent, although I prefer larger shrimp.

The steak with the surf and turf was overcooked and tiny. No flavor at all. I have doubts it was meat. For a 30 dollar meal it was a joke. I have never tried gator so I couldn't tell you if the gator sucked cause it was bad gator or just cause flo's sucks. I will never go again 116 dollars for 4 lousy meals. My 10 year old said the fries had no taste. Future reference if there is no wait at 6:00 there is a reason

First meal here was worthy of a second during my next trip down to SC. We've always passed Flo's Place but just decided to stop and see how it was due to an extended vacation - what a great decision.

I had the a dish with mussels, shrimp, and clams served on rice with a special sauce and it was amazing.

Definitely recommend this restaurant - the service was extremely nice also!

I have no idea what you people are thinking. This place is the horrible frozen and pre-prepared myrtle beach version of Cajun.
I tried the crawfish boil & it was horrendous. Dry & smelled of swamp mud. They clearly don't know you're supposed to soak the bugs first & I'd swear they were reheated in the microwave.
If you have any taste whatsoever, please please skip this place.

Wow!  The friendliest staff and the tastiest meal!  ANYTHING with blackened seasoning will be something you won't forget.  Fun experience.

One of our favorite places to eat in MB.  Kitchen may be slipping a little.  Not as good as in the past...maybe an off night.

Some of the best Po Boys, the workman's lunch.  The Shrimp Creole is one great meal; split it along with a Crabcake Po Boy.  Yum!

Our server was great but the kitchen is always a little slow...perfect to sit and enjoy the view of the inlet.

We were excited to see that this place didn't have a wait at 6:30 on a Friday. That should have been our first hint. The wine was served in ice cream styled cups. The steaks were cooked wrong, tough and had to put a ton of A1 sauce on them to make them edible. The salads were small and pretty much a bunch of ice burg chunks. I ordered the salad with the gourmet veggie burger. I was pleasantly surprised by the veggie burner. It was really good. But they put bacon bits on the side of the vegetarian salad? So, we just moved it over and tried to take it off. The patio was really nice, but it didn't make up for the food. It was really overpriced for what it was. Our bill was $125.00 for 4 people!

I was on the fence about whether to go with four stars or 3... but if I could give 1/2 stars, it would be a solid 3.5.  The place sort of looks like a dive when you walk in... lots of kitschy-tacky stuff for sale and the place looks like its seen better days.  But that doesn't really affect my judgement of the food/service, so no big deal.

The menu is not huge and didn't feature any real stand-out must-haves, but there are some good options. I was tempted to try one of the specials, but I figured you can't go wrong with shrimp creole.  And, I was right. Theirs was good. Maybe not the best I've ever had, but very solid.  The tomato & peppers were stewed perfectly with just the right amount of spice and they did not skimp on the shrimp.

David went with one of his favorite stand-bys - a shrimp po boy. It wasn't his favorite, but said it ranks in his top 5 po boys. Our server started out on the right foot, but by the end of the meal, I think she was ready to get out of there because she didn't even ask if we wanted dessert before she brought the checks and disappeared for a while.  David had thought about trying the creme brulee but decided against it since it was apparent that our meal was over in our server's eyes.  Oh well, c'est la vie!   Overall though, I was not disappointed and would eat there again.

5 STARS!!!! I read a few of the reviews about Flo's place and decided that if I was around the area I would stop in. I find myself at Flo's Place on vacation...3 times actually.  First and foremost, they have the BEST hushpuppies we have ever had!  They are different looking, but the buttery flavor is like no other, and they even heat up well!  We overall enjoyed the blackened fish Po' Boy, the gumbo, gator fritters, and the grilled flounder platter.  Oh, and did I mention the HUSH PUPPIES!!!!  It is not like us to visit somewhere multiple times, but it was so worth it.  The service was terrrrrrific, friendly and attentive.  No matter where you sit, there are wild things to look at everywhere, the place is decorated very unique to say the least!  One of my visits I sat at the bar for a bloody Mary (very tasty) and some Puppies!  If I ever find myself down in Murrells inlet again, I am deffinitly stopping at Flo's!

Excellent food and generous portions of snow crab. Unfortunately, they started vacuuming our section while we were still eating and lost star #5.  It's a fun place, but they really don't know how to handle late night eaters on a week night.

Great seafood and great atmosphere.  This place has one of the best views of the inlet.  Free hushpuppies and a buy 1 get 1 half off dinner from 4-5pm ensures full tummies and a low bill.  I had a pot of steamed oysters and my guest had a scallops dinner.  Both were cooked perfectly.  Service was quick and friendly.  The restaurant is very spacious and can accommodate large parties very easy.

I love Flo's! We come here at least omce on our yearly visits to MB, and it never dissapoints.Relaxing, Casual and "homey", eat outside on the deck, the view of the inlet is beautiful, and you'll feel like your in the bayou! The food rivals any I've had in New Orleans, and the po boys are better then any I've had. Actually, I think it's best for lunch or an early dinner, while it's still light out. Oh, it's a cool place for pictures too!  GO.....you won't be dissapointed!

Tasty. We stopped by while driving from Wilmington to Charleston and had a good lunch. The shrimp po-boy was a little... unusual (instead of whole large shrimp, you get balls of small shrimp), but the softshell crab po-boy made up for it.

I love seeing an old friend after a long time apart.  There's something exciting about it.  Such was the feeling I had about venturing up to Murrell's Inlet to revisit some haunts from long ago.  Having trekked religiously to Myrtle Beach each year in my younger days, Flo's became my one stop for "fine dining".  I recall sitting at the bar in September of 1990, when Flo herself poured me what was then called a Hugo Shooter in honor of Flo's surviving Hurricane Hugo the year before.  Some beer, a raw oyster, some hot sauce, it was a tribute to the area and survival.  We talked to Flo about the storm and how glad we all were that she and the place had made it.  Now it's called the Oyster Shooter.  Times change.

Sadly, there was no encounter with Flo this time.  The word is that she passed in 2005.  The good news is that her daughter and son-in-law have the place going strong.  The little gift shop when you walk in is a new addition since my last time in and nice at that.

The food was great.  I recall getting the blackened fish on most every other occasion and enjoying it.  This time I had the Steamed Crawfish (<a href="http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/4cq6e-PEavVqSNKkkLcPSg?select=jmtWdrKcwdWXwpozK_A9Lg">http://www.yelp.com/biz_…</a>) and Gumbo.  What a deal.  There were easily 30 mud bugs in a great Old Bay boil.  The gumbo had little shrimp, okra, oysters, tomato and just a little spice.  The wife got the Bayou Special, which is basically a bowl of steamed shrimp and crawfish, in a heavenly butter sauce.  The shrimp were large and fresh.  We ate like kings.  And each meal was less than $17.  Not bad for meals in a touristy spot.

The views are still quite nice, although simple.  An oyster-laden tidal creek teeming with small fish is a nice way to relax while eating.

Service was excellent.  As I recall, it always was.

You may have to wait, depending on when you go, but I say it's worth it.

I tacked on that 5th star in honor of Flo, may she rest in peace.

The three of us were pleasantly surprised with the food and wait staff at Flo's.  We made 8:00 reservations on a Friday night, and were seated immediately.  We deliberately avoided the family/kids early dinner.  We ordered 2 seafood platters (one fried and one grilled), which were more than enough for us 3 ladies.  For our fried platter, we chose popcorn shrimp, deviled crab, and flouder with a loaded baked potato, fries, hushpuppieds and cole slaw.  Our grilled platter choices were mahi-mahi, shrimp, and scallops with rice, green beans (fresh pole beans with ham in them--better than my mother-in-law's),  loaded baked potato, and garlic bread.  Everything was impeccably fresh and well-cooked.  Nothing was overly seasoned, allowing the seafood flavors to stand on their own.  The wait staff was friendly, solicitous, and always there to refill drinks or ask if we needed anything.  We loved the "shack" decor on the intercoastal waterway, and almost every table has a beautiful view.  I would definitely return to this establishment.

We ran out to Flo's from Myrtle Beach on a Tuesday night.. the place was packed... we had a short wait but the woman at the hostess stand couldn't have been nicer.

Four of us got dinner and EVERYONE was more than pleased with their choices.  I had fried fish and it was terrific.. done just right with a nice light coating of batter.. not that heavy handed goo you can get from time to time.   I ordered 'spicy' and it could have been spicier but it didn't detract from the dish.

Our service was great the prices seemed reasonable for fish and seafood and we alway walked out full and happy.  What's better than that?

My husband is from Louisiana so we have been trying to find a Creole place for a while. Found this place on the Internet so we decided to go. The place wasn't very busy when we arrived and we were seated promptly. We both ordered a cup of gumbo for an appetizer, Jambalaya for my husband and Crawfish Ettouffée for me. The gumbo was amazing was pretty authentic tasting, could have eaten a pot full! Then when the entrees came out that's when it went downhill, the Ettouffée was horrible...was more like a tomato soup with crawfish in it, but the jambalaya was pretty good. Should have sent my dish back and gotten something else but bit my tongue and ate more gumbo. i would go back just for the gumbo.
